I'm DYING to know how your feelings have changed (if at all) since making this video... I used to own all the Millésimes but I sold this one as I really couldn't take that overbearing caramel note and obvious lack of any really iris presence.. Jasmin quickly became the new favorite and I'm hoping to see rose and bergamot in '25 and '26...? 😂

I wore Voluptuous Oud for a week in a row and it's very addictive. It's good work, good perfume and if this were my first Francesca Bianchi ever I would fall in love with it, probably. In the end, I don't feel like I love it, although I do recognize it is good. It's fine. This is fine.

I heard Persolaise view on it and now yours it sounds like it might stay in my collection. Who knows , and not everyone on fragrantica knows their notes. But thank you for sharing your experience. I just hope it smells like a fresh jasmine 😅

I like it a lot, but as you said, it's a miracle how it's still in production. How could Dior still selling it with a hefty price tag. Never hits discounts where I live.

This is one of those Lutens where Sergio has pushed musks to a level I cannot stomach and was an instant dislike. Other unfortunate souls (to me) in this category are Louve, Rousse, Santal Blanc & Nuit De Cellophane to name a few. I enjoyed the video nonetheless :)

Thank you for this thoughtful review! My grandmother was born in the late 1890s and lived to be almost 100 years old and wore L'heure Bleue exclusively all of her adult life. Just catching the slightest whiff of it conjures her memory for all of her living descendants. I searched and acquired a bottle of the edp a couple of years ago and now I am obsessed with it and will wear nothing else. It truly is a magical fragrance, thank you, again, for this video. 💖

I wish I could find the old 2009 Extrait. The new parfum is no where near as interesting as the Rouge Privee they released a few years ago.

Habit Rouge L'extrait is the lesson in how you work a parfum version for a scent. Familiar beats, the essence of what makes Habit Rouge but with something extra. An artistic exaggeration, a prolongation of an idea that can only be transmitted by smell.

I feel bad that I keep on forgetting about this scent (and many others…too much perfume noise). I need to resniff it again. I remembered when it was first launched and it was exciting to hear about a new mainstream release.

Not too long ago, Guerlain used to sell smaller, more concentrated versions of almost all of their fragrances. They were called extraits, then later parfums. Imagine treating yourself to the fragrance you love only in a more coveted, luxurious and elegant variety. The extrait bottles were not merely miniatures, they were the historically accurate original bottles of in which the fragrances were released to the world. The extraits themselves were not simply more concentrated versions, but reworked as to render a more exclusive and sophisticated variation on the same scent. They used to cost three times as much for three times less quantity, but, oh, the decadence of owning something so precious. Remember dabbing yourself only for truly special occasions and treasuring that bottle, which after all, did not come cheap but was indeed for your pleasure alone. This is what made Guerlain. It felt like stealing that shimmer and sparkle just for a moment and feeling like you belonged. Now they sell 125ml of extrait in a boring all the same bee bottle for more than 1000Euros starting price.

Love the commentary & reaction! I am in the same boat, Lutens isn’t anywhere in NYC since they pulled out of the US! Need to re try Oranger. I remember thinking it was too much Cumin. Yesterday wore Maharinih Intense by Nicolaï. Have you tidied that one? Orange, cinnamon and civet. Amazing amazing. Still loving my Santal Majuscule I bought after your review.

Fleur d’oranger is so beautiful ! I got a partial bottle from a friend and unfortunately it kept on leaking and I had to decant it before all the perfume was gone 😢 But I managed to save some and I’m in love with the beauty of it 💕

I coveted a bottle of Fleurs d'oranger for many years and now I finally have it but the true surprise of the day turned out to be Feminité du bois. Smelling two breathtakingly beautiful scents in one sitting makes me feel very lucky.

I am recently “coming back” to the fragrance world, after a long break of having a baby and not feeling like and not even wanting to wear fragrance intentionally. Not in a sad way, just did not want to wear it around my baby 😊I am starting shy with Guerlain’s l’heure bleue. And while wearing it today, I remembered your videos and your love for Guerlain. I am so happy to find you here again. As for this Gucci one - obnoxious is the word! You nailed it! I had dropped a bit of it on my diary while smelling a dropper sample. I had to put the notebook away for days to air it out; and I still feel it after weeks! Thank you for the grace and professionalism you put into all your content! Xx
