- Fair day of fishing Block Island. Was mainly a fluke trip, Capt Blowhard does have his commercial license so the plan was to put some meat in the box. Started off on the right foot finding the right kind and right size on the first drift. Lucas got them going, but it was kind of slow, so we moved a few times in search of the motherload but only found desert. We came back a little later and got a bunch of keepers pretty quick but then it went stone cold. Eventually found some bass roaming the surface and we caught a handful of those and even a couple fluke.

Have you ever seen or tried the sand eel SP minnow? Those might work well if they are feeding on them up top

How many drifts did you get? Last time I went with them was during the pandemic and it seemed that Russ was trying to conserve fuel cuz he would stay on unproductive drifts and didn't move much.

I walked by them on 0601 and they didn't got out. I had booked a charter with Wise Kraken on the Laura Ann which is at the end of the same dock

decent by 2023 standards, historically though fluke fishing is a far cry from what it used to be in RI.

I hope. last year had no luck getting into the tuna. If I can get on a good bite once every couple years thats good enough. but that means, I gotta get on a good bite this year.
