I love how that single a3 move caused the opponent to go from equal to drowning in custard in one move. You can just imagine them thinking "oh I learned about prophylaxis from that RUclips guy, time to put it into action". Danya's expression and voice change at 2:35 is also hilarious.
a3 wasn't what drowned them; not even allowing the centre fork trick drowned them. It was their response to the centre fork trick that killed their position.
I'm around 1700 as well and i used to never see accelerated dragons at my level and ever since you started the speedrun its like every other game is an accelerated dragon game, you are quite popular i guess :D
the combination of doing puzzles everyday and your insanely good explanations have me spotting some of the tactics before you point them out! :) thank you for being the best chess educator out here danya
I truly cannot thank you enough for these amazing instructive videos. The Accelerated Dragon is something new I have been playing so these ideas are gonna be implemented. Thank you very much for everything you do Sensei. 🙏🏽
Thanks so much Daniel. Especially dealing with the e4 trouble was one reason I went back to regular dragon with d6 protecting the e4 push. Got to look for your video on the Moratsy Bind.
0:40 I guess people don't like to play the open Sicilian because of bad experience. I remember my time as chess newbie developing an intense fear and hate towards open sicilian. Because (open-) sicilian players are always ahead in the theory anyways -> often resulting in losing games for white. So the META-Game is to "torture" the sicilian player with the alipin or closed sicilian in hope the sicilian player lack theory in these openings.
You're, by far, the best chess teacher on the internet. I have been following your speedruns since your first posted them. Thanks for everything Daniel.
I know exactly why this is happening. People often play not only 15+10, but also 10+0 and they pretty much experienced time lose. Yeah I say it's habit. They play 15+10 just like when they play 10+0
Nice game ! Hope we get an open accelerated when whites Queen comes out early to attack blacks h8 rook. That would be a good line to go over. Thanks sensei Danya !
I like how Danya allows the opponent to grab a meaningless a pawn cause you know white was licking his chops at the sight of that hanging pawn for about 3 moves in a row
12:25 isn't the more clinical move Be5 here because it poses the most direct threat? It attacks the white knight which defends the white rook so if we had an extra turn, we would take the knight, removing the defender of the rook. If white trades rook, we queen for free. If white moves the knight, we take the rook for free. At the worst, we gain a full rook. I'm not saying that f5 isn't winning, just that it takes more time to create a legimate threat so I wonder why Danya didn't mention it. Perhaps he just missed it, but if he did, then I would be very proud of myself since that move was the first that came to mind to me once I tried looking for a better move than immediately queening.
What to do if my opponent pushes against my kingside early in the dragon? Can't castle queen side as my first move pushes forward a queens pawn, this weakening the king if I castle queen side, this is my biggest problem.
At 3:30, the knight is protected by a pawn. So based on your 'is a pin dangerous?' rule, this in my head seems like any other bisschop-knight pin in the opening. Which nuance am I missing in that rule of thumb?
There are 2 attackers on the knight, so you would lose a pawn if it wasn’t defended again. And the bishop taking would be a fork and win the rook. Hope this helps
Does the Centre Fork trick just help give that side a better position as material wise the other side get the pawn back. Just not sure if it’s always worth playing it when available?
many GM would stop, after black take our knight in c6, it will good for us. And never tell how to punish white after taking it. Many people take the knight and our position crumble from there. Yes we have major pawn in centre but can't push pawn and bishop have no square to develop. And we are one piece down in the board due to inactive.
I think the opponent played a3 because they were worried about ...Na5 after Bc4 and wanted a square for the bishop. Not saying it is good, just stating my thoughts.
On the rise past 1000 rating and i feel out of my element watching 1700 games, but it's still super instructive to see the proper sequence of moves that helps get an advantage. I've yet to stop watching any of the speedruns! Thanks for the instruction Danya!
Then you should thank them for being so nice as to give you the center. After they take your knight you play D5 with tempo and chase the knight away, then you play e4 with tempo and chase the other knight home to g1. Congrats you have a commanding lead.
Omg this is so good I wish i knew you in real life i would be a better player I have one question is it memorization or you know all this moves by heart i ask this because if I would study this opening accelerated dragon there’s so many variants an i think it would be so hard to remember do you have any suggestions on how to get better at remembering or is just main lines
Search "yasser seriawan accelerated dragon". He gives a really good explanation for *why* each move gets played. If you know the motivation behind the moves, you aren't "memorizing an opening", you're understanding the ideas behind it and acting on them. Then even when someone goes off the beaten path, you still have a plan for what you should do
Get a diary book and work out the lines, read up the moves from other grandmaster games and find out why the move is played, or reason out for yourself why it's played. Also, you can draw out the chess positions in your diary, simplified if you like to just a 3 x 3 or 4 x 4 position. Judit Polger mentions this in one of her books.
Re the center fork trick: did anyone else notice that white could have desperado-ed her bishop and gotten the pawn back with Bxf7+?? I don't think I would've played it knowing that white could have done that.
I think he should have covered that. But you can take back with the rook on f7 and you have the half open f-file and the bishop pair in the resulting position after Nxe4.
@@constantijndekker8343 true, I realized that. And in a double K-pawn game that would be good for black. Maybe still is, but with the k-side also fianchettoed, if white manages to exchange the other bishop the black king is drafty. It would have been better than what was played.
@@christianaustin782 When black went Nxe4, what the "Narod" called the center fork trick. Instead of going Nxe4, d5 Bc4-e3 dxe Bxe4. What was chosen in the game just lost. I think the addition of the fianchetto makes blacks King a little loose, though Black could still be better.
İ hope you wont just finish speedrun by the time you hit around 2200 like the speedrun before. Because the high rated games are the most beneficial ones for me( i guess for all of us) and we would like to see 1700-1800+ games for a longer period. There are more theory lines, more advanced maneuvers, players dont lose to 1-2 move tactics immediately and of course there is more room for analyse after game
Danke!
Thanks!
Danya: "Now I know a lot of you are thinking rook B1 but that's a blunder"
Me, thinking rook B1: 🙄
Rook B1, Rook B1, make a move that makes no sense...
😃
That move literally is crazy...

a3 wasn't what drowned them; not even allowing the centre fork trick drowned them. It was their response to the centre fork trick that killed their position.
that move isn't even prophylactic, it doesn't do anything, there's no bishop coming there to pin knight
Castles or pawn a3? Lmao
I'm around 1700 as well and i used to never see accelerated dragons at my level and ever since you started the speedrun its like every other game is an accelerated dragon game, you are quite popular i guess :D
That's how I feel down at 1200 when Eric Rosen was playing the Stafford Gambit. Everyone was playing it and losing.
Daniel, if you are reading this, I hope you're well. Thank you for the content. Very informative.
This is the most formal RUclips comment I've ever read. Nice and wholesome.
Why should he not be well?
Change it to “Since you are reading this” because he will read it at the same time that he reads it
@@BRNRDNCK huh?
“I hope you’re well”: hilariously threatening
I can never get enough of your instructional Chess videos! Absolutely elated everytime I see that notification pop up like "YES! A NEW VIDEO!"
Starting to understand why Danya's opponents don't like playing into the Accelerated Dragon.
the combination of doing puzzles everyday and your insanely good explanations have me spotting some of the tactics before you point them out! :) thank you for being the best chess educator out here danya
This is the best video i've seen of you with the accelerated dragon. I will save it and rewatch it dozens of times.
22:00 Judas bishop takes d7 checking his own king 😔
This got a laugh out of me 😂
The line at the start of analysis (that begins with e5) is pretty amazing. Thanks Danya ❤️
Love the content! It's helping me improve vastly!

Thanks for everything Daniel.
He makes it so clear. Imagine if he taught 'sex ed' in high school...
"Now, this move I call the 'accelerated piston'..."
You've given us just about every recipe for the accelerated dragon. Makes me more confident in playing it once I learn all the lines you just showed.
Wonderful and informative as always Danya. Keep it up 😀😀
Hey Danya. Love your videos! :)
Would it be possible to make a long video (or video's) on your opening recommendatinos of this speedrun?
Such a great video Daniel.
I watched this live for the first time today. Nice close game. Especially trading with tempo and logic to open the middle while ahead in development.
Love the tactical lines shown in this video. Super sick
Yet another brilliant video from a brilliant player. Thank you 👏 👌
I don't understand why people play a 15 min+ game and then use only use only 2 minutes of their time and loose.
Well keep in mind that they are thinking while danya is talking
I know exactly why this is happening.
People often play not only 15+10, but also 10+0 and they pretty much experienced time lose.
Yeah I say it's habit. They play 15+10 just like when they play 10+0

Awesome video as always! Thank you for helping us become better!
Great video as always Danya. Your ability to explain and demonstrate concepts goes beyond chess and is appreciated in every way
"This is like minus plus" - Daniel Naroditsky
Great details, thanks Danya. Already winning some extra games off the back of this lesson!
It's crazy how sharp this line is. By move 10 already have an advantage with black.. love the great content Danya
Interesting analysis!
This video is so helpful for me, whose goal is to find clear and practical guidance.
Please more accelerated dragon!!!!
Great video, thank you!
Best educational chess content by far, and its all free. I love Danya.
I've been trying to learn the accelerated dragon and this is super helpful!
Hyperaccelerated is pretty fun too, so many people play Qxd4 after cxd4 and get rekt.
18:00 correct & add to study rep
Wow, always impressed by Danya’s clinical precision. Opening, middle game, endgame, every little mistake is exploited perfectly. 👍
Titled players are something else man. I've even seen FMs being crazy lethal on the board, squeezing all hope. But GMs are on another level.
Nice game ! Hope we get an open accelerated when whites Queen comes out early to attack blacks h8 rook. That would be a good line to go over. Thanks sensei Danya !
You killed it!
Thanks Danya!
How to study the theory?
Should we mug up all the variation?
Thanks! I never knew what to do after the exchange and e5. I would play d6 and white would castle queen side.
I like how Danya allows the opponent to grab a meaningless a pawn cause you know white was licking his chops at the sight of that hanging pawn for about 3 moves in a row
What does "minus over plus" mean? I guess it's shorthand for a bad eval?
white is much worse.
It means Black is much better
+- means White is much better
+= means white is slightly better
= means .... equal
same if - (minus) is at starting then black is better
+- = white is winning, -+ = black is winning.
I'm absolutely convinced that by now my cat recognizes your voice 😅 I love your content, thank you!

omg... the post game analysis blew my mind.... I pity the fool who plays e5 in my next game.

Do you have a book? I feel like you'll write a good one
Awesome video Danya! Just got to ask if it's just me that hears the audio quite low, anyone experience the same issue?
I hope Daniel plays the Caro-Kann in the next speedrun :)
Wow e5 f5 is simply soul-crushing. Textbook submission.

Finally! Someone who plays the open sicilian
Ikr! Above 1800 everyone plays open Sicilian and I found out today i was playing it incorrectly
@@VivekGawande1 I reccomend watching his first speedrun, it has a ton of accelerated dragon content

i never knew how powerful the accelerated dragon could be, i thought it was just something to prepare for bxa1
Ah another night where Danya sings me to sleep
Wow that was so precise it was like chess surgery
Best serie ever
I often think that when these games are one sided at this level it's because the player isn't cheating.

What to do if my opponent pushes against my kingside early in the dragon? Can't castle queen side as my first move pushes forward a queens pawn, this weakening the king if I castle queen side, this is my biggest problem.
If your opponent pushes early on the side of the board, he's neglecting the center, to which you can then strike in yourself.
Conventional wisdom says that an attack on the flank should be responded to by an attack in the center
Thats the point of the accelerated dragon. To save a tempo for playing ...d5. If they pawn storm early then just play ...d5 and open the center.
At 3:30, the knight is protected by a pawn. So based on your 'is a pin dangerous?' rule, this in my head seems like any other bisschop-knight pin in the opening. Which nuance am I missing in that rule of thumb?

Can anyone tell me why white did not castle at time 7:55 before the queen trade ?

Does the Centre Fork trick just help give that side a better position as material wise the other side get the pawn back. Just not sure if it’s always worth playing it when available?
