I like how different this informative video is. Very different from all the other "informative" fashion videos out there and it's actually applicable towards all types of fashion styles. In many ways you could look at it in a way that knowing how to style tones properly allows you to have a much more minimal wardrobe but still able create outfits with subtle differences that changes the look of a fit. Great job on this bro!

Corbin, just want to thank you for going to school, getting ur PHD in color theory, and explaining the differences here just so we can put together fire fits. Unfortunately, I will still confuse tone and color.
A possibly super important point: Colours look different in different lighting circumstances. Obviously the same colour looks different in different light conditions: warm light colours stuff yellow-ish, and cool light blue-ish. But: different colours can even look the same under one light source, but appear very different in another light situation. This is a real big problem for retailers, and even more for online sellers. This is called "metamerism" and is relatively complex. Both orange sweaters/hoodies look really nice together with the OD green pants. imho the survival orange is always a great choice with green, too, since it has a really interesting military connotation too. And like everything in outfot choice: there are no "bad" choices; its more that you can be more and more conscious about putting together a fit, and this makes for a more conscious personal taste.
Very good point! I never knew of metamerism until now! sometimes when I walk outside, some clothing looks quite different than how it looked indoors. (grey enfin leve pants, they look grey indoors and brown outdoors). Orange and OD green always reminds me of hunting, especially the neon orange. As I say in a lot of my videos, style is subjective. Like you pointed out, just taking tones into consideration will make more conscious choices when styling a fit

Further, your examples of incorporating these into wardrobe choices is very practical advice. Thank you. Would love to hear more about how to work these combinations into appropriate choices for skin tone and hair color combinations would be great. For instance, I used to have skin and hair color contrast much like you. My hair now is essentially white and my skin tone remains pale Irish. I’ve learned lately that low contrast outfits look better on me.
Thank you! I threw the terms "shade" and "tone" around a lot, yet didn't truly understand what they were until I looked them up! I like the idea of exploring which colors work well with a variety of skin tones. I have that irish skin too, I was going to Ireland next week...however not anymore due to the travel restrictions
@@corbincore When I was younger I looked a lot like you: curly dark (in my case, auburn) hair, pale skin and glasses. RE: Ireland. You might look into that again. I'm literally listening to a report right now that said the Prime Minister of Ireland said Trump told him Ireland is excluded from the ban. Though... one cannot hang trust anything Trump says in my opinion. Particularly now.
