You can’t convince me Maxim isn’t AI generated
i was thinking the same thing lol
100% agree xD
@@paliyanderit’s getting better every month y’all
National Geographic got busted used fake/altered images in their magazines after claiming them as authentic pictures… because they wanted the image to look more impressive… it’s really sad what’s happened to society
LOL that would be awesome, because then we could have multiple instances of him running the show. He's that awesome and on point! 🔥 You win the award of most noticeable comment though. We've been talking about this every since you posted it ha ha
Mind blowing advice here: focus on the music. Would never have thought that was so important for a career in music.
Sometimes I think about giving up and moving on. But music is my passion and I have to be patient cause it's a long journey to achieve real success!
I think about giving up and moving on. Furthermore, I had one of those moments before I started mentoring Avicii. Can you imagine if I did? I hope this can inspire you to never ever give up! Especially when music is your passion. You WILL get to be where you want, and I'd love for you to achieve real succes. You can do it and you are worth it! Meanwhile, don't forget to enjoy the process. What you are doing is awesome 🙏🏽
As an emerging artist duo, it's hard to stay focused on creating music and content for social media, knowing that we have our day jobs on the side, but... not impossible and we're not giving up!
Honestly, this message is so inspiring! The struggle is real. Thank you so much for leaving this here.
Great timing. I was literally about to break through and this came on!
Well if you're about to break through, then you wouldn't need this video ; ) But hopefully this helps to give you a bit of insight as to what the industry is looking for!
Laidback Luke is a real one
Im a 33 yearold singer songwriter and producer and occasional Dj your videos inspire to dj! I already bought a regular mixtour to spend some time on that set up. I also like the Djay pro update! Very fun.
Thanks for throwing the decade In there Luke because that’s how long I have been grinding, I ain’t been grinding as hard as I am now all through that decade because of a relationship but I am now putting my production 1st until I get there and it’s just starting to pay off I have just come 3rd in 2 remix contests and I am shortlisted for another 5 my last release Trippin has been playlisted in 2 Apple Music editorial playlists and has been featured by Traxsource, just keep you head down and keep working hard that’s the way I roll anyway, thanks again ❤
Jay Eskar is a legend. Deserves more recognition.
I told him to send music to luke months ago!
This is excellent information for beginning producers that dream about getting signed. I was hoping for some insight how beginning DJs can get their first breakthrough. I think Luke missed a trick with the title of this episode - it should have been 'How To Break Through as a Producer in 2024' Sure, plenty of producers try their hand at DJing, but let's face it, mastering both is like trying to juggle flaming torches while riding a unicycle - not many can pull it off!
Breaking through as just a club or festival DJ in 2024 is like trying to find a needle in a haystack...in a tornado. Back in my heyday spinning tracks in the early 80s, there were venues aplenty - youth clubs, bars, discotheques - you name it. But nowadays, it's like trying to keep a small boat afloat in a tsunami aftermath. Covid taught everyone how to throw their own killer parties at home, leaving small clubs struggling to keep their doors open. With many venues biting the dust and social media gobbling up the attention of the younger crowd faster than you can say 'drop the beat,' it's a tough for aspiring DJs to find a starting gig.
Sorry for the rant - just serving up some food for thought!"
I really appreciate this comment and you have a great point! But sadly enough, to breakthrough globally, like the emphasis of this video, the focus is on having music out and having your social media game in order. Getting your name out there counts highly. Making it as a DJ, purely because of DJing, is impossible on a global scale nowadays. But note the point about the team effort. Even if you're only a DJ, I'd advise you to link up with a producer that doesn't want to perform or travel, and put music out together! This video is all across the board, don't be blindsided! I hope you can take this knowledge and run with it, because you are certainly worth to break through!
Love u guys
There he is! Thank you for the comment Jay! Wishing you loads and loads of success!
If you want to cut through you need a budget and marketing plan and preferably a parent who is already in the industry. It doesn't matter how good your music is, you will be offered ghost writing contracts not a career from labels these days. If you don't have a family member already in the industry the next best thing is to try and befriend DJ's. This industry is 2 things, how many people like you as a person and can you show up on time to meetings / gigs.
Luke you are such great DJ and mentor. Really inspired me and encourage me to keep moving forward.
Thank you for the incredible compliment. Please please do keep moving forward. And enjoy the ride! I hate stories about shattered dreams, you are so worth the success and dreams you are after!
There's no dought about it that Mixmash is an outstanding lable... If this is your sound as a dj/producer I I wouldn't look anywhere else to get signed ... Good luck guy's in 2024..
Thank you for this Victor! Much appreciated 🤩
@GianVarela I agree 100%, I have spent the last 2 years building a library of 200+ completed projects that are ready to go. The reward has been significant since I have ready to go projects spanning a variety of genres while retaining my brands specific sound. Thank you @LaidbackLuke this was amazing to watch.
Luke, thanks for always providing great advice and motivation.
From experience, practising production 24/7 for 4/5 years before releasing any music was a good position to be in, because even though my socials were less than 1k, 2 of my first 3 releases were #1 on beatport and 1001tracklists and I got recognised by most of the big DJ's such as yourself Luke, which in turn allowed me to network which is also a huge factor, socials are a big factor but definitely not everything 💪
This is a story and a super helpful package in the making for all the young talent out there Mark! You've been through this and came out on the other end. Phenomenal production skills, but still, the hustle keeps going on every single day. Music industry is a wild one! Thank you for leaving this comment here, love seeing this!
Good one lad back luke
Thanks for sharing the info Luke. Finally got my first record signed after 7 years and you have been such a helpful part of my journey!
Man that's amazing! Congratulations! And you know what's most crazy? After all that, it only starts now! Isn't that wild? I've been in this game for 30 years almost and it never gets boring lol. Wishing you tons of releases and success! Stay hustling!
Such a valuable video. Thank you.
music is the answer
Very informative video! 🙏🏽
Hey Luke hope you’re well. Not sure if you remember me (Tony finger) as we have been in touch for a bit many years ago for prods etc (coco star track, Pacha recordings). Just getting back into the game after a long break from it for different personal reasons and yes things have changed now. This is really interesting. I’ve got lots to do to pick up on that and got few more unreleased from the past to start with. Keep well and rocking
Tony! Welcome back sir! Yes, this whole game has changed now. I'm doing my best to keep up too! Hope you're eager to adapt, all these kids have it down now. But it's a cool world too. Basically you're in control of everything that's put out there from the media side. It's a cool place to be in, but a lot to constantly keep on doing, while trying to do everything else. Therefore I'd like to emphasize the whole team effort thing. Build a team around you with specialists that can help you. It will make everything so much easier! Good luck to you and hopefully see you around!
Hey Luke. Good to hear from you and from what I can see you’re keeping up the game very well. Thanks for the tips and I will stay in touch and reach out at certain point. Keep well and all the best to you and family! 🎉
a lot of useful tips!!
I'm happy you think that! These truly are professionals and I'm happy you're paying attention. I learned a thing or two as well : )
Great content! ⚡
I can't name another Kung Fu Athlete DJ Producer...can you? LBL's the LEGEND!!
But I can't name another Austin Kramer either! Thank you so much for popping by here sir!
Gian is a real one!

You need to launch a new community discord. I am in and would be honored to join waiting 🙌
Super inspiring meeting you at the EDM Awards this past week in Miami!! I'm the guy who gave you the $4 bill
Man I got arrested in Miami after trying to spend that at the corner shop ha ha jk. But great to meet you, good times! Keep it up!
I was waiting for the advice to use the Palm Pilot as a DJ controller/gear.
Very helpful kuya Luke.. the music still is what matters at the end of the day
Hopefully i could break through!
More than 10 years making music trying to make it, I'll keep going!!
2004 was your breakthrough? i know you from before when you were a techno dj! and good sets!
Hey Lucas! great video :) i have a question - i submit 3 demos to you on label rader, you shortlisted one, and you add my profile to the watchlist, and i didnt get an answer on the other demos and i really want to know if theres any chance if you can hear them :) big thanks!

I think it’s a bit biased that social media companies would say they require good song writers. When you can pick any artist you are gonna want the best. That doesn’t mean it’s in the artists interest to be a top producer/ dj. Lots of mediocre tech house did like James hype ( literally in the name) and they have a huge Social media presence
why werent you at ultra?
Why does that dude have a face filter on…and a speech enhancer
Hire ghost producers/song writers and a good internet marketer. Profit.
If you have 10 minutes to learn to break thru on Sunday then you got 10 mins to thank Jesus for what he has done for us all.
You never realize how much you miss silence under YT videos when all you hear are crummy loops and distracting music.
Labels are real parasites nowadays, it turns out that they won't take a track by an artist who doesn't have a big audience, even if the track is very cool. Accordingly, according to this logic, I have to do all the work myself: write a track, develop social networks, make an audience for myself. And only then will they take your track and it doesn't matter to them what it is, as long as you are popular yourself. That is, in fact, I do all the work, and the label just takes half of your income. And the most they will do is draw a cover and upload the track to some Spotify playlist with 5,000 listeners. This is how Spinnin Records works, in their best Spotify playlists there are only about 30% of their own tracks, all the other tracks from other labels, and the sub itself are tracks by major artists. And then the question arises, why does such a label not promote its artists, even if they are not the most popular. Answer: THE LABEL IS NOT INTERESTED IN THIS, IT IS ONLY INTERESTED IN MAKING MONEY!!!!! And I think if I fart into the microphone today and it gets 1 billion listens in tiktok, then tomorrow Universal will be standing at my door and begging me to give up the rights to the track. Then they present it to the whole world as "innovative analog sound"😂😂😂😉
