"The better your work, the less you have to market and sell" 8:20 Even though I'm nowhere near the peak of my career yet, I realised people started reaching out to me themselves when I put in more effort to improve my craft. This is very true!
The only thing I don't like about videos from the Futur is that you can't binge-watch them. Each video is packed with so much value, that you have to sit down with a pen and notepad; pause, write, ponder and scheme. Best thing I've discovered in the past year.
I'm in this era of my future business. Thank you for this! This makes me feel like I'm on the right track. I've spent three months working for a spirit marketing agency to eventually make my own. My goal is to make my own agency in 3 years :) 🙏

Just finished my second watch through this and I'm still pinching myself that we get this stuff for free. Chris, thanks so much for the value you provide.
Chris and Mo, great video! Identifying your target audience is key to effective lead generation. Tailoring your marketing and sales efforts to meet their needs increases your chances of success. Keep up the awesome work!
Chris Thank You, for all your current videos and quest. I am so happy that you're sharing the recipe to the meal. Finally, it doesn't seam as everything magically aligns for an designer.. You have to try differently things and not give up as your pitch that you were giving to other companies, and how long it takes. Thank You!

Loved this. The best analogy I could make of this is with food. A good restaurant the servers amazing meals don't make much effort in marketing. They just that good! People will line up to eat what they're cooking.
It's so funny because this is exactly where am at. Just shift from brand identity design to UI UX design and I started brainstorming how to get my first client. Thank you for this gem
I have definitely found it to be true that re-wording the way we approach the client about your services without asking them for the sale. I can see the anxiety in my new prospects' eyes. It looked like they wanted to say yes to whatever the ask may be. At the very least accept some good value that doesn't feel salesy. Empathetic Selling is the only way to win deals more effectively
This is a phenomenal video. Saved to favourites to watch a few more times. I want to develop “supreme confidence”. I’m coming from a place of lack and bad habits. To shake the stagnation and to start building the first blocks of confidence I feel I need to work on my body. To start feeling stronger and in shape. I’m also listening to/reading the work of Joe Dispenza to help shift mindset and perspective. From this I’m learning that negative thinking can be an addictive habit. A big takeaway from this video is actually dedicating the time to do the work. I have more to say - but I will leave it here for now. Thank you.
Thank you so much for this Chris! A friend of mine just told me something similar earlier today. And you mentioning it again its an extra validation! I agree that this strategy is very good for getting extra clients (and more money) for any creative business you're into. Thanks once again!
Much needed video…I’m transitioning from Logo design to Web and I could relate to Chris’ story on pivoting. It’s an uncomfortable feeling moving from brand identity which I’m very confident in to something new but I’m willing to learn more. Thanks futur team 🙏
11:52 this is PERFECT! I know it isn't to be used word by word, but it definitely sets some guidelines on how to escape the "how much for XYZ job?" talk that clients usually start with. In short, thank you :)
Damn Chris such a great video man, I'm a big fan. I did pause the video to reach out to a more experient designer to do what Mo did. I'm already a student from the Accelerator and going to be part of the pro group. Cheers!!
I like videos from you. But I REALLY liked this one. A lot of practical advice. At this point if I want to do something like this, all I have to do is just do it! Thanks!!!
Hey Chris. I really like the way you think. I am working in an area totally not related to what you are doing (machine learning researcher/ computer architecture). But I really like what you are doing here. Just saying that your wisdom is cool 👍
I really loved this video. I recently actually spoke to a client and I thought I was about to get them and everything seemed good and they agreed to everything but they didn't get back to us. My partner said the person who we spoke to was not the person who makes the decision whether they take us on or not. How do we communicate to someone who isn't the contract "decider"?
Doing the work is important, yet it's also important to visualize your desired result with a focus of what emotions you'd feel when that happens along with your vision.
Everything I heard here makes sense. I'm pushing 60 years old, and have to come to terms that I f*cked off too much, got sidetracked, and didn't put in the work I needed to do to push myself to the level I wanted to be at. Then depression set in for 10 years from my mid 40's to my 50's after a disastrous divorce, had to settle for menial production jobs to Keep a roof over my head. After being bored to death at my last job, I finally told myself I'm going to get back into my first love, illustration. I'd get off at work at 3pm, take a quick 15 min nap then work on my illustration till I couldn't keep my eyes open. Then Covid hit, lost my job and had to do manual labor and small graphic design jobs to keep a roof over my head. Virtually unhireable by bigger companies because I came from a print background and I got caught with my pants down and didn't keep up on the trends, so here I am still freelancing, doing odd jobs, and barely keeping a roof over my head only by the grace of God. Watching videos like yours, jumping from one kind of graphic design job to the other. Web site here, social media for my only steady client, and I can't get enough work in one area to get really good at any of them. Not enough time or money to just focus on one thing and get really good at it. I started a social media page on FB called Siesta Key Music Scene just to practice at social media and I love live music and with what little downtime I have, I'd go out the key and hear some great music. It's starting to grow a bit. Haven't been at it very long but some national bands are starting to notice. Been shooting vids of the music, and editing as best I can in very little time promoting the local bands for nothing with shitty equipment, but I'm becoming exhausted and have to pull away just to work at cabinet painting, or something else similar just to keep the roof over my head. So here I am finally with the drive but with one foot out the door onto the streets. So maybe if anything, this will be a lesson to some younger people. Don't waste your youth... But I am listening, Chris. By all means use me as a negative example, lol. Everything you're saying is true. Maybe I need to start stalking you and others, till I drop dead or become homeless... Believe it or not, there's a certain amount of freedom at this point... It's do or die... By no means is this a sob story... I hope people look at this and see what you're saying is true. I did everything wrong. Work hard early on or you're gonna work really hard in the end...
I love this… your content is trash is my fave statement… of course I say it with love but in social media marketing world people get worked up about the algorithm and views and likes and I’m like do the work improve the content and things will flow ❤❤❤ great video as always
