Overpriced?... It's always been your choice to buy it or not. Tamiya is always on their own design which for me and my own opinion, really is a good design competitive or not. This buggy is meant to run on rough and sandy surface and scaled looking too. That is what FUN is all about. Nice run by the way sir.
Thanks, and agreed. Tamiya is on a different level - their own level - and don't really seem to be interested in following any leader. Great design, making it a fun buggy in almost every terrain we've run it in.
"Overpriced?... It's always been your choice to buy it or not." - I think people tend to forget that Tamiya still produces in Japan and not China, which shows in the parts quality.
@@Competitionx Thanks. I was wondering since the horizon website just said "next shipment july 2023" when I preordered it but wasnt sure around exactly what day it would ship.
Initially, we won't be on a track - not designed for that. However, as you know, we like to go fast so we're sure, at some point, it will make its way to the track!
On pavement with a 13.5T motor geared conservatively, we got it up to 36mph. More gear, more speed. It was very stable as well, however we're not sure this is ready for speed runs... yet. :)
Possibly. Wife and I have been working on a pretty big web project - it's in the closing stages right now so hopefully we'll get some time back soon :)
Well, Tamiya cars have always been in a different league than Kyosho or AE cars - they've never really followed anything but their own path. However, the BBX has to be on of the more competitive 'play' cars they've produced in awhile (after the recent Super Avante and Astute releases). Against similar vintage cars, we're certain it would easily be able to hold it's own for sure!
BB XCELLENT!!!!
LOL, love that.
Nice run. This car's a beast👍
Thanks 👍 Had a blast at the beach, but about ready to see how much power this car can handle! :)
No the Arrma 3s Vortex is a beast!
You are clearly having a blast with yours
LOL, ya, alot of fun. Got a few more how-to vids coming up soon as well. Stay tuned.

Thanks - appreciate it! Glad you're enjoying the content! More to come!!!!
Where do I get this set of tyres from?
There were from RC4WD. I think they're discontinued but you might be able to find them on eBay.
do you know when horizon hobby is shipping out there preorders for it?
The car is supposed to be ready for sale on the 20th of this month. As far as we know, that is still on schedule.
@@Competitionx Thanks. I was wondering since the horizon website just said "next shipment july 2023" when I preordered it but wasnt sure around exactly what day it would ship.
Who makes the tires
RC4WD - links are in the description. :)
You did put the slipper clutch in this and what motor is in it?
Yes, slipper clutch is installed and it's running a 13.5T R1 Wurks motor in this video.
@@Competitionx I think you should have gone with 3800 kv or higher brushless system in it.
@@Competitionx also can't wait to see you make the mb01 again video and run it and hopefully running in a race with other m chassis.

@@bradkalman2353a hot 13.5t like the R1 is pretty close to that kv

@@Competitionx do you think I should buy this as my first rc car? I was also thinking of getting the HSP planet v2
It could be a good first car, yes. It's a great kit to build and drive, so you'll have a great experience in the RC world with it!
@@Competitionx thanks👍
I hope today you'd like to join us at 9:30 Eastern Time on Frank's life that would be great we haven't seen you in forever.

Cool another overpriced underwhelming Tamiya car.
LOL, overpriced? It's $255 for an all new, ground up design that is actually fun to drive and quite robust. But you're allowed to your opinion.
@@Competitionx $255 do you get bearings with that and a brushless motor?
It's a kit, but yes, you do get bearings. Tamiya has never offered a kit with a brushless motor.
