I know oyasumi literally translates to "good night" but it is used as "please rest". Only parents (or caretakers with authority over a child) say "oyasumi *nasai* ". Nasai is only used in a parental tone and so only parents and teachers and stuff say it Ex. tabenasai (eat *in authoritative parental tone* ) so that makes this creepier for me
Strangely enough, we actually do say "Oyasumi nasai" to anyone and it would be perfectly polite and acceptable! For other things though, it's true that only parents or close friends can say it to you without it being rude.
@@RazanAr51 i wouldn't say omori "took over" cuz its not a supernatural game. but sunny got overwhelmed with everything and and the guilt, and probably just wanted to go to sleep... permanently.
Im so glad that the omori community isn't like the danganronpa community where they spoil every chance they get in comment sections. That said I probably shouldn't read comment sections while watching or playing a game...
I finished the game in like 2 days so avoiding spoilers was pretty easy. That being said I feel like the type of people who enjoy this game are the type of people who would be conscious about spoiling stuff.
Oh fuck, sorry for all the ppl who did that. I personally am ok with spoilers. I like danganronpa and there's a shit lot of spoilers in the comment section

First impressions on the game was mixed, still am a bit, but overall impressions are positive 👌
This song drops harder than sunny- Also I feel like this song totally resembles Sunny's whole story in the game, it's happy and calm at the beginning, gets progressivly more chaotic and disturbing and finally goes calm while falling off the hospital building..
I teached this song to my non-english sister, I feel so proud but cant wait for the moment when she learns english and understands everything she has been saying this whole time

I'm a Japanese, when I listened the music, I was very surprised because that's sung in Japanese in spite of that's English singer's song. By the song, I felt I want to play Omori in English, It must be a masterpiece. My English is very poor, but I must play Omori in sometime in the near future.
@deadman Ayo my Japanese friend! An Italian streamer interviewed Omocat (the developer of the game) some months ago and she confirmed that they are working on a Korean, Chinese, and Japanese localization! >.< It's just a matter of time!
I agree. A circusy, insane drugging piece of "epic". I was playing it when walking home from school, and I could feel someone was staring at me like: "SHUT THAT THE FUDGE UP YOUR SCARING ME MAN YOU INSANE KIT-KAT!" Heh.
I feel sorry for all the people who've waited years for this game to release. I've only just discovered it. I hope I don't have to wait much longer, but chances are I will.
I heard about this game a long time ago through my ex and totally forgot about it until now. As a Skullgirl fan who just saw the first update for the game in 5 years: Omori fans, keep your heads up!!
You know, even though this plays during the 'bad ending', it actually fits perfectly with the context of the story. Sunny essentially gave up and completely gave into the White Space and Omori, so he stays forever in his Dream Scape. That's why the song sounds so happy go lucky, because that's how Sunny made it to be. The Dream Scape is just a happy place where nothing bad happens, and that's why the song is so cheerful. But obviously, you know everything's actually NOT okay, and that's probably signaled by the absolute chaos in the middle of the song. Even the lyrics fit and below, I do a whole analysis of the whole thing. "Close your eyes, you'll be here soon." 'Here' refers to the Dream Scape and it's basically saying how Sunny has to close his eyes before he can go to the Dream Scape. The counting of time: "One two three four five minutes." Is probably just Sunny counting how long it takes him to drift off to sleep. "I really want to sleep now." Is Sunny saying how he doesn't want to face reality and desperately wants to just go back to the Dream Scape as soon as possible, but you can't stay in your mind forever, as the song says with the next words: "But, I cannot." The constant mantras of "Goodnight." Is probably Sunny constantly chanting to himself to hurry up and sleep so he can go to the Dream Scape, and since this song plays when he's falling off the building, it's a morbid signal about how he's about to die and sleep forever, so goodnight. "Close your eyes and you'll leave this dream." Sounds to me like something Omori would tell Sunny, switching the places of reality and his Dream Scape and telling him that reality is the 'dream', and Sunny has to close his eyes to go to 'reality' and leave the dream, but the 'reality' is just his Dream Scape. He should be doing the opposite. Open his eyes, wake up, and he'll be able to leave the dream that is his Dream Scape. This is hinted with the next words: "I know that it's hard to do." Sunny knows deep down the truth about what I said earlier, that the 'reality' he tells himself is just his Dream Scape and he's supposed to open his eyes to see the true reality, not close them. But it's so difficult to do. It's hard to open your eyes and leave the dream. Then there's the chaos part of the song and oh man, it's pretty obvious what it means. "Days go by. Oh well. Moments pass." Is talking about how those four years went by with Sunny staying in his Dream Scape. The lyrics sound very dismissive, which is accurate since Sunny was too focused on covering up the truth to care about the passage of time. "Shattered glass." Is probably talking about how his state of mind is so broken, shattered like glass, or it could be talking about how Sunny deluded himself and smashed the glass to avoid seeing the truth, the reflection of the mirror. Remember, in the real world, Something sometimes appears when Sunny looks into it, so by shattered glass, it could be implying how he buried everything, including his fear of Something, by smashing the glass and never having to look at Something, which is Mari's death, again. The song mentions hands twice, and while "Hands of time." Probably just means the clock hands and talking about how time is passing, the more chilling one is the second time hands are mentioned, which I'll talk about later. "Where's that chime? In my head." Implies that Sunny hears something in his head, but he can't hear it anymore. This chiming noise could be two things, but no matter which it is, it means the same thing. It's either the chiming of bells, like the ones you'd ring during mourning, prayers or weddings. Basically, any big event. And since the only mourning in the game is with Mari's death, it's implying that Sunny denied Mari's death and pushed it away so much that he forgot about it, and now no longer knows where it is. The chiming could also just be Mari playing piano or just some musical noise, which would mean the same thing. For the repeating sounds of: "I'll just." I think it's represents how Sunny lived in his Dream Scape. Remember the laptop? It just repeats the same thing about how he spent time with his friends. The days just looped and he never did anything new. It was the same old mantra. Hence, the looping "I'll just-". Now we get to the second mention of hands, and this is chilling. "Hands of time will wring my neck." There are two possible meanings to this. One is that, once again, it's talking about time, and how, as time goes on, Sunny's guilt over killing Mari gets to him and will eventually suffocate him, hence the wringing of the neck. The second option is that it's referring to Omori. When you fight with Omori, he literally sits on a throne of hands and uses them to attack Sunny. Omori essentially represents the Dream Scape as a whole, and if you go down the Hikkimori route, Sunny eventually dies and is 'taken over' by Omori. There's no way for Sunny to live in that route. So it's saying Omori essentially kills Sunny, by wringing his neck with his hands. It's also possible that it's also just talking about THIS bad ending, where again, Sunny dies and Omori finishes him off by jumping off the building, killing him. "Every little moment spells regret." Is just sad. It's basically saying how, throughout those four years and before Sunny moves away, he drowns in regret over killing Mari even though he tries to deny it. "But I don't have to feel this way." Is Sunny trying to comfort himself, by denying Mari's death by escaping to the Dream Scape. It's impossible to escape it though, and his guilt and regret manifests as Something who follows both Sunny AND Omori. He can't escape it. This line is just him trying to soothe himself, even though he knows it's pointless. The 'voice' in "As a voice inside my head." Is referring again, to how Sunny tells himself that everything is fine and denying what's happened. It fits with how after that, it goes back to the mantra of "Goodnight." as Sunny dives back into the Dream Scape to avoid thinking about the incident. After that, the song just repeats the chorus of goodnights and stuff, as Sunny continues his fall and will eventually die. If you read this far, congratulations! This was an ASS to write but I love me some good old analysis and I hope you did too! It's scary how well this song fits with the story, despite how cheerful it sounds contrasting with the horrible thing happening in front of us. Either way, OMORI? Masterpiece. *chef's kiss*
What bothers me the most with this ending (Bad Ending) is the thought of how Hero, Kel, Aubrey and Basil would've felt. Both Sunny and Basil just got hospitalized which would've already been quite a heavy thing for them but to discover that Sunny committed suicide afterwards there without them knowing a thing is just so depressing for me imo.
And then. Without warning, Sunny commited suicide, leaving them confused, and possibly, regnet. "Why would Sunny do that..?" "Why didn't I approach him earlier...?" "Why didn't I came back earlier..?" Hero would probably feel like he couldn't be a good friend, or in this case, brother. Considering that Hero once thought Sunny as his own brother
Imagine Basil. He would be the only one after that point who knows the truth, meaning that he would be the only one who knew the meaning behind Sunny's suicide after bad ending.

Knowing what I know now, this song gives me the same vibes as Komm Süsser Tod from Evangelion. Those vibes being, I am emotionally drained, but i am bumpin'.
As someone who suffers from derealization there’s something so resonating in a game like Omori, where dreams are not just escapism but where life really starts. I often get this feeling of absolute de-attachment from morning and often feeling like its just passing time from this nightmare so I can lull awake. And in a way listening to this song oddly calms me down. It’s a nice kind of weird
but i feel like the dream world is just escapism for sunny. they all are 12ish in the dream world but irl they are young adults. after mari died and his friends probably went away, thats when the game started. i feel like all endings mean something. sunnys death implies that some people like being in the dream world and know it's not reality.
this is the same except it’s only really when i do something i regret, or feel a strong negative emotion. i try to escape from reality and stuff but oh god it makes a lot worse
Sometimes I just want to live in a eternal dream so i can escape my future life. School is hard for me and I have the feeling that i'm going to fail everything /:
The orchestral ending is incredible. It sounds so dark and derranged. The happiness of the song is completely shattered by those final seconds. It's incredible really.
I fell in love with both this game and this song just from the trailer alone. On a side note, I can't help but think of Oyasumi Punpun just from the lyrics of this..
fun fact: if you were to fall for the full duration of this song you would have to fall from at least a height of 13716 meters. This is from the stratosphere in Sunny's case he fell for a fraction of the time of the full song falling for a time of 1 minute and 41 seconds falling for 1 minute has you fall a distance of about 3048 meters its pretty constant because the acceleration of gravity would get cancelled out by the air resistance at a terminal velocity. so if we use that as a per minute basis. falling for 1 one minute and 41 seconds Sunny fell from a height of at least 5130.8 meters. the tallest building built the burj Kahlifa is about 830 meters tall. that hospital is at least 6.18 times bigger than out tallest building now being at least as tall as Mount Ararat in Turkey.
Perhaps it can be explained by the speeding up/slowing down while he falls. If it's to be assumed the fastest he goes is terminal velocity I'm sure it would be shorter
@@inkstar7521 Yeah, I've heard that when someone falls from an extremely high height like that time "slows down" for them due to shock. I have no idea how true that is but it definitely fits with the limbo idea
@@elijahbradley704 The question is how much could time be argued to 'slow down'? 2x? 3x? Depending on that value, we can figure out if the hospital is actually the size of a literal mountain.

I love how this song heavily implies suicidal thoughts in an innocent way, "good night", "I know its hard to do". The sound effects remind of fairy tale music, like a Disney princess singing while doing certain activities. The goofy sound effects start getting distorted at around 2:26. Amazing song.
@@cheesecheese852 Me as a kid: Bo En said it's about insomnia, so that must be it. Me as an adult: THERE IS NO WAY this song is not about suicide. the insomnia is a metaphor or someone's 13th reason or something, but the suicide thing is UNMISTAKABLE. there's a GUNSHOT and "hands of time will wring my neck" "In my Head" "I'll just- I'll just- I'll just-" "I don't have to feel this way" IN FACT, the entire third verse is basically someone's ideation before it transitions to "good night" LIKE IT'S RIGHT THERE. AM I NOT SUPPOSED TO BELIEVE MY EYES BO EN???????? and this song was literally used in omori, there's no way he didn't do this on purpose and then say it was about "insomnia" to keep his song past censors lol like that would be rlly funny. Also, I didn't appreciate this song when it first came out. I loved it, but it's only aged wonderfully since then, and has even inspired other artists/soundtracks. For instance, apparently the amazing digital circus took a lot of inspo from Bo En in its soundtrack to get that nintendo nightmare vibe.
"As a voice inside my head." makes people think Omori is that voice saying "Oyasumi Oyasumi Oyasumi Oyasuuu-" as seen in the bad ending, Omori makes Sunny go to sleep forever by killing him in the roof while eyes closed, that's also the reason why we see a dream version of the sky... that's Sunny dreaming before he will meet his demise, and the red sky are his nightmares of course. I cannot imagine what Sunny must be dreaming whilst falling. You know what's special about this song? *It's not only the beat that just dropped.*
I oddly imagine his last moment (while dreaming/imagining things) is that his Dreamworld friend followed him behind(like, they're falling with happy expression,no stress at all, like it was nothing.) At that moment Omori/Sunny feel releaved, but soon when he was about to hit the ground, Something appear RIGHT in front of his eyes, 'causing a wild shock in his head at last few second of his life before hit the ground (this is where the background change from Dreamworld into what seems to be black space, also the fact that something actually appear at the moment) And I like to imagine again that in the end of the song (when the song get slowed and fade away) Sunny/Omori landed in Dreamworld softly like a feather, not so far from him there was his gang, having a picnic. And so as Omori walk into them, his shadow look like something, or anything in black space that could trigger his trauma. Meaning that he'll leave the "nightmare" behind once and for all. Stay in his "reality" forever
Confession: I played this song when doing the Ayaka story mission and when I had to give her the pizza and she said "Is the pizza ready?" I couldn't help but laugh through the trauma of the Omori fanbase
You know- omori aside the original song is really good and well the song is about escapism, sleeping away the problems. (which people with depression often do) I think it really taps into the feelings of those who use sleep as an escapism. One of my favorite lines is, “hands of time ring my neck. Every little moment spells regret.” Which is exactly how people with depression feel. Time goes on and you feel nothing however you have so many regrets over the smallest things in life. So why stay awake in this world where everything sucks and you feel nothing while you can sleep and escape to a land where everything is okay. Not only are the lyrics compelling but the music in the song too. It’s cheerful and inciting something you want to listen to but towards the end it’s kind of haunting and spooky sounding reminding us that these dream worlds are fake. That you NEED to return to reality and stop running away from the problems you are currently facing. It’s truly a well written song and very fitting for the themes Omori tackles.

this song is like insanity with high pitch cherry background music. it literally says "huh?" "oh nothings wrong it's just that there"s a voice in my head and it's driving me in to the deepest darkest pit of insanity that's all."
well, I haven't looked ik up myself yet (because I don't know wich channel) but my friend told me they found the transulation on a sub video for the game Omori, wich I believe would be true because that fits the character more, he is a depressed kid who literally escapse to his dreams but ok the song was not made for the game, my point is is that it's just not about insanity
Sulky Seli Yes, but i feel like theres... more... also it says "close your eyes and you'll LEAVE this dream", hinting to the fact that he feels reality is faker than his thoughts and dreams. that being said, im not outright saying this song is about insanity (although that IS what i believe) but i do believe there is more than whats on the surface
This song really hits different. It's really addicting and just feeds my sadness and imagination. I just feel like going to my bathroom, and dancing with my imaginary friends. But still just dance to myself. This makes me cry yet laugh. The instrumentals are truly a blessing. This is beautiful but kinda scary. But it's also somehow comforting.

I spent my last 3 days lying in bed scared for my life because of how scary this game was. Usually this phase lasts for only 1 night with other horror games, but then again, the way this game scares is on an entirely new level I have never experienced before. And to think this was made on RPG Maker too! And the battle system! The battle system! It's so unique with its emotions and whatnot! Not to mention tagging, which I have honestly never seen in any other RPG before! Ok I'm sorry I'm literally just ranting about how good this game is at this point. ;-;
(Spoilers) You know it is very depressing elwhen you think about ending songs. They both start with piano, but in this one the piano slowly gets taken out and does not stick till the end. It shows how Sunny cannot forgive himself since as we know piano=Mari
@@mariotheundying Yes, actually. There's two ways to feel that fear: Being close to a ledge and knowing about it (meaning you're too scared to even get close) or looking down and realizing how far up you are (at which point it depends on which direction the vertigo makes you go.)
Though I'm kinda concerned. Is a tall ass hospital necessary? I mean, some hospitals reach about 30 stories/floors, but according to Reddit, the hospital is about 4 times taller than Burj Khalifa (tallest building) if the ones with the Otherworld and Black Space backgrounds you see in the bad ending credits are happening in real time on Sunny's head.

Thank you very much

@@solryn I agree. It's awesome. Sadly it's great spoiler discipline wasn't present in this video
my god ur poor fingers...
"Why would Sunny do that..?" "Why didn't I approach him earlier...?" "Why didn't I came back earlier..?"
Hero would probably feel like he couldn't be a good friend, or in this case, brother. Considering that Hero once thought Sunny as his own brother
Imagine Basil. He would be the only one after that point who knows the truth, meaning that he would be the only one who knew the meaning behind Sunny's suicide after bad ending.

"Every moment spells regret" - describes the game pretty well ngl
The way they integrated this song into the game itself is amazing.
It fit reaaaally well into that "scene"
fun fact: if you were to fall for the full duration of this song you would have to fall from at least a height of 13716 meters. This is from the stratosphere
in Sunny's case he fell for a fraction of the time of the full song falling for a time of 1 minute and 41 seconds falling for 1 minute has you fall a distance of about 3048 meters its pretty constant because the acceleration of gravity would get cancelled out by the air resistance at a terminal velocity. so if we use that as a per minute basis. falling for 1 one minute and 41 seconds Sunny fell from a height of at least 5130.8 meters.
the tallest building built the burj Kahlifa is about 830 meters tall.
that hospital is at least 6.18 times bigger than out tallest building now being at least as tall as Mount Ararat in Turkey.
r/theydidthemath
Perhaps it can be explained by the speeding up/slowing down while he falls. If it's to be assumed the fastest he goes is terminal velocity I'm sure it would be shorter
I think he already hit the ground when the dream world appeared in the background and he's just stuck in some kind of limbo

The insomnia message hits even harder. I have been in the revenge bedtime procrastination train for years

"As a voice inside my head." makes people think Omori is that voice saying "Oyasumi Oyasumi Oyasumi Oyasuuu-"
as seen in the bad ending, Omori makes Sunny go to sleep forever by killing him in the roof while eyes closed, that's also the reason why we see a dream version of the sky... that's Sunny dreaming before he will meet his demise, and the red sky are his nightmares of course. I cannot imagine what Sunny must be dreaming whilst falling.
You know what's special about this song?
*It's not only the beat that just dropped.*
Whilst falling of the tallest hospital in the world
Probably saying goodbye to dream Aubrey, Kel, Hero, Basil and Mari..
I think the red sky is supposed to be Black space, and that his life is flashing before his eyes
I oddly imagine his last moment (while dreaming/imagining things) is that his Dreamworld friend followed him behind(like, they're falling with happy expression,no stress at all, like it was nothing.)
At that moment Omori/Sunny feel releaved, but soon when he was about to hit the ground, Something appear RIGHT in front of his eyes, 'causing a wild shock in his head at last few second of his life before hit the ground (this is where the background change from Dreamworld into what seems to be black space, also the fact that something actually appear at the moment)
And I like to imagine again that in the end of the song (when the song get slowed and fade away) Sunny/Omori landed in Dreamworld softly like a feather, not so far from him there was his gang, having a picnic. And so as Omori walk into them, his shadow look like something, or anything in black space that could trigger his trauma. Meaning that he'll leave the "nightmare" behind once and for all. Stay in his "reality" forever
"Oyasumi" is everytime in my head lol
Confession: I played this song when doing the Ayaka story mission and when I had to give her the pizza and she said "Is the pizza ready?" I couldn't help but laugh through the trauma of the Omori fanbase

The omori vibes
It’s truly a well written song and very fitting for the themes Omori tackles.

this song is like insanity with high pitch cherry background music.
it literally says
"huh?"
"oh nothings wrong it's just that there"s a voice in my head and it's driving me in to the deepest darkest pit of insanity that's all."
it's literally just about sleeping ... to escape from the world
well, I haven't looked ik up myself yet (because I don't know wich channel) but my friend told me they found the transulation on a sub video for the game Omori, wich I believe would be true because that fits the character more, he is a depressed kid who literally escapse to his dreams
but ok the song was not made for the game, my point is is that it's just not about insanity
Sulky Seli Yes, but i feel like theres... more... also it says "close your eyes and you'll LEAVE this dream", hinting to the fact that he feels reality is faker than his thoughts and dreams. that being said, im not outright saying this song is about insanity (although that IS what i believe) but i do believe there is more than whats on the surface
ah okay
Its written because of Bo En's sleeping problems, but you can interpret it however you like.

I spent my last 3 days lying in bed scared for my life because of how scary this game was. Usually this phase lasts for only 1 night with other horror games, but then again, the way this game scares is on an entirely new level I have never experienced before. And to think this was made on RPG Maker too! And the battle system! The battle system! It's so unique with its emotions and whatnot! You know it is very depressing elwhen you think about ending songs.
They both start with piano, but in this one the piano slowly gets taken out and does not stick till the end.
It shows how Sunny cannot forgive himself since as we know piano=Mari
Same with FINAL DUET, the piano (OMORI) starts the song and the violin (SUNNY) ends it
The way he leaps off of the hospitals and spins before falling into a head first dive is just full of the exaggerated seagger of a depressed teen.
Fun fact: If he didn't overcome his fear of heights he wouldn't be dead as he would be to scared to do it.

Fun fact: if he wasn’t social with Kel this wouldn’t of happened
Well, he was scared of heights because he could die, so does it really matter when you intentionally die
