Hi everyone! I started playing backgammon during the pandemic and quickly developed a love not only for the game but also for the artistry and craftsmanship of the boards. Over the next few weeks I'll share my thoughts on the boards in my collection, from small to big, affordable to more expensive, and give you an up close look at their quality and play experience. In this video, I share my thoughts on this stunning Wycliffe Brothers 21-Inch backgammon board in a brown croco finish.
I'd appreciate you liking and subscribing so that I can grow this channel, help others discover amazing backgammon boards, and, ultimately, share the wonderful game of backgammon with as many people as possible.

Another great video!!
Thanks again!
Hey it's the same exact board I have! Or it's a new generation and it's slightly different. Mine is a Gen III.
I love this board. But, having owned it for 6 years, I have a couple issues with it.
1- The faux-leather material around the cups has started to unstick after a couple years and obviously it doesn't look as good.
2- One of the two small metal rods that hold the handle has disappeared. I haven't even moved that much with it (maybe 10 times?). It's annoying now because the handle is now unusable. No idea what happened, but it seems the rods can become loose and fall off.
3- The playing field material is great, but dirt and particles stick to it easily. I'm constantly cleaning it up when I play at home, because it's a bit of a distraction on an otherwise good looking board (maybe I'm just overly obsessive).
4- The checkers seem to be easily scratchable (more easily visible on the white ones) as they rub against each other in the box. In fact mine came with visible scratches which might have just been a fluke.
Otherwise, I agree with your review. Great quality/price ratio for a tournament board.
Really enjoying your reviews! Personally I'm not bother by having the dice cups 'loose' inside the board. In fact, for me boards that have a space for the cups have 2 problems: 1. it tends to make for a very 'bulky' checker trays + cup holders and 2. if you want to change the cups, then they probably will no longer fit the holder. If it does bother you, then just put them inside a bag.
One question - I'm sure one of personal preference: do you prefer plain white checkers or do you think a marbled effect would suit the board better?
And finally, a suggestion for a future review: a P40 board 🙂
I like the marbled effect but I feel like on this board plain could look great also.
P40 is a dream board! Hope to have one to review someday
in my completely intermediate opinion, i think the 41 the two moves i would consider would be 6/5* 5/1* double hit or 13/9 6/5* single hit. always be fighting for your 5 point!
13/9 6/5* is correct! :)
I’ve heard others claim that there are quality control issues with these Wycliffe Brothers boards and some report the Norris breaking down after only a few games. Makes me hesitant.
I’ve had 4 Wycliffe brothers boards now and never had any quality control issues. Can only speak for my experience but they have been great!
Marbled dice aren’t precision dice.
Sorry, didn’t mean to give the impression that I believed that. I just like the look of marbled dice.
Your videos are fantastic. No need to be sorry.
I agree with you, the marbleized dice look very cool. The resin used in them is different than precision dice-for now.
I’m in the dice business, and I’m going to look into marbleized precision dice very soon.
If it’s possible I will be glad to send you some.
I sell lots of non precision marbleized dice now, and 2 grades of precision dice. I’m wholesale only, however since I own the biz-happy to get you some.
Please keep up the good work with the reviews. It’s fun to see boards of different price points and sizes.
Best regards
Eric Petersen 😃😃
Crisloid boards come with marbled dice that match the checkers.@@serialhobbyistofficial
