The $140 Silverman & Co comes in purple, indigo blue, green, dark brown, brown, red and black exteriors. I just wanted to add this as my mind apparently wandered during that part of the video, haha. Cheers!

8:58 The indigo, light brown (like in your video) and dark brown silvermans are on sale 50% off right now on gammonvillage until 11/25/23 at midnight I believe...you can get them for $70! I just bought an indigo one...now for another unboxing video 😂
Also, love this vid. I can appreciate that you are not a premium board snob and understand a lot of people can't drop thousands or even hundreds of dollars on a board (especially ballin' on a budget in recent years with inflation). Great work!

I was so tempted to do a backgammon galaxy board this year...maybe next. Which adventure board did you get? I think there's a Neptune and quantum one out there currently or maybe there are more?...either way looking forward to your unboxing!

Yeah, I was tempted last year and then I said maybe next year. This is the year, haha. They have a few. The blue and purple with the black wood frames. The mini earth with the oak wood frame (almost went that route) and then they have two interstellar versions with a black frame. The quantum and the Cassio. I went with the Cassio with the orange and blue checkers. I'll be doing a box opening video and then a few months later video where I give my thoughts on it 😄

After many years looking at the 19 in Silverman & Co. backgammon sets, I finally got mine! Used to play on any kind of boards (magnetic, wooden, plastic, you name it!) it just feel right: the feeling and sound of moving around the checkers is just different. Great video for those who are searching for a nice board to begin with. I do agree with you, there's a lot of nice second-hand board people can find online. My very first board was a cheap one but I loved playing on it, cutting my teeth on it. Then, I spent a couple of Euros on a Hector Saxe board back when it was not that expensive to get one.

If you're reading this and not subbed, you can be the 800th. Just saying. Pretty huge.
Let's see this precision dice video you speak of. We have 12-sided dice (that include 2 sets of 1-6 on each) that we use against purists to get in their head (/s). My only way of winning. It's a power move I prefer over Lauren placing checkers at the top of points on my side of the board. Can you tell her to knock that off?

I have yet to see anyone talk about the Crisloid "Champion" backgammon boards. They are medium in size, and reasonable-medium in price (cheaper than any of the crisloids you have talked about I believe, but more expensive than the budget boards you talk about here) and boy do they look good in the photos! Maybe at a tournament when you have access to the boards... you can do a more high-end board review at the tournament hotel? You could start at the $300-$400 Wycliff range, and your Crisloid board... then on to the just under and a bit over the $1000 range... I recently did get a new board actually. An Adventure board from Backgammon Galaxy in the Cassio color. I wanted a wood framed board and it fits the bill nicely! A lot of fun to play on and a great coffee shop board!
A guy at the club I go to has a P-40. They're really nice boards! They're really big though, so be aware of that. The only thing I'm not a fan of is how thin the bar is. Checkers fall off easily. They made a little mod for that, but I'm not a huge fan of it because my dice always seem to end up going underneath it, haha. That's largely due to the way I roll the dice on the board though, so definitely more of a me issue there, haha. Cheers!
