    Starting with stopping the rust is definitely the smart thing to start with. Mine is a California car 89 HF I had a 91 si it was z6 swapped turbo... this car with a k24 is gonna be a blast

    Hey the penetrating fluid doesn't damage any suspension rubber pieces or even the rubber brake lines? won't eat it out.. or make it weaker, I think the PB Blaster that AutoZone sells eats all the rust out from any metal surface and lubricates real good but I always try not to spray it on any rubber surface.. .

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 лет назад

      Ive used plenty of PB and ive never seen it eat or dissolve rust . its just a penetrant not a rust disolver as far as i know. Also ive never seen a rust penetrant eat rubber hoses.

    I’m glad you got a shell I learned my lesson after letting my motor sit for 2 years I had to redo my whole short block. It didn’t matter at all if I kept rotating and changing oil in it. Oil will not get everywhere and start to rust. Don’t build a motor and let it sit please.

    • @themechanic6117
      @themechanic6117  5 лет назад

      Sorry to hear that. I actually over filled the engine by a lot. Point is to keep the crank submerged in oil. Hopefully this works. I just left a note on it to drain the oil before i do anything. Fingers crossed 👍

    Oil in the spark plug holes is not a valve cover gasket. Here is a video explaining how to fix that: ruclips.net/video/wYU8qtPzQOY/видео.html
    Also, I'm sure that the HF did not have an MPFI engine so that engine has been modified and MPFI converted. I love the CRX. That is a great platform for an upgraded engine. I will definitely be watching the build.
