If you like Floor windmilling, 7 Days To The Wolves is a MUST. Floor does a consistent 30 second windmill AND Tuomas windmills like a wild man...while playing his keyboard. I thought it was gonna break apart. I have heard Tuomas won't be windmilling any more. The recent concerts seem to show this as factual. I am not surprised as several musicians/singers have developed arthritis in their necks.
Thanks guys! Floor is from another planet compared to any other woman and most male singers too. Marco was an international rock star / front man / vocalist long time before NW. I saw his band Tarot first time live in 1987 I think. You can spend the next 5 years trying to go through all the bands/projects/combos/feats/solo careers etc. related to this band. And you have still Kai, Troy and base player Jukka to discover totally....
imo his guitar solos are the definition of a true/real guitar solo. something that adds/fits to the song and not just a guitar player showing off his skills in the middle of a song. if it’s a wild song he shows off his skills the way it fits, if it’s a slow song he plays something chill. but whatever he does, he does it with style 😎

I have often said that 12 of my 10 most favorite songs are from Nightwish. Shudder Before the Beautiful live at Wembly has an incredible guitar solo. The only real shredding I have heard from them.

I really love this track.. but another couple to check out are 7 Days To The Wolves ( live at Wembley Arena), also Ghost River. You won't be disappointed. And about Emppu's guitar solos... He does have plenty of solos, but these are usually very well incorporated into the songs, so they don't jump in your face as much as with your typical metal acts. Music is the single most important goal of this band and everything is done towards putting out the best songs they can come up with... And Tuomas is guiding the way as the Metal Mozart. He has always excelled at making music where the entire band is at their a-game and he knows the instruments/vocalists he has at his disposal and he uses them masterfully...
You’ll have more than six favorites for sure. This one goes pretty hard. Marko is a very accomplished and versatile singer, that also sings in a variety of styles. Much to discover there as well. The Islander from Tampere might be a good choice there. I think either Yours is an Empty Hope (which will blow your mind), and 7 Days to the Wolves from the Wembley 2015 show next. Both Marko and Floor sing in both of those. Enjoy your Nightwish journey. I’ll be watching it.
Floor healed an emotionally ailing band from to the trouble with their previous singers. Never saw the Nightwish more confident and happy than with Troy and Floor on stage.
Oh, Marco has an excellent voice.. If they need Rasp, he does that.. If they need harsh vocals, he does that.. But, if they need someone to smoothly harmonize right along with Floor, he can do that too..
Not many reactors notice it: adapting to other voices is one of Floor’s most amazing qualities, she makes every co singer sound better, watch this in “Sancta Terra” with Simone Simons or “let this river flow” with Soilwork
Floor's first and second bands are After Forever and Revamp. Good place to go and listen to Floor when she was younger. Then her singing on the Dutch show Beste Zangers 2019.

7 Days to the Wolves at Wembly . I mean your going to do the whole Wacken concert so check out and sample other concerts. Then you can go back at listened to the whole concerts over hearing a lot of new songs as well as a familiar song. Other suggestions, I want My Tears Back, Buenios Aires, and Greatest Show On Earth Tempere my favorite version but don’t stop the video when you think the song is over trust me you will get the Nightwish Army very upset because it’s one of the best moments captured on the relationship of the band, crew & fans! Marko is an old school metal singer, think Ozzy or Lemmy Kilmister, but with the warm soft tenor of a folkie. He mixes well with Floor, as he had with Tarja and Anette. His high is just a bit lower than any of the Three and his low not terribly lower than Floors. That's just my uneducated ear, check with the vocal coachs on the exact range. You might "skip ahead" of Gabriel's list and listen to his last two solo studio songs, Endlessness with Nightwish and The Voice of My Father, which he wrote for Pyre Of The Black Heart, a solo album. Also an amazing bassist and guitarist, he and Empuu are riff monsters. Speaking of Evanescence, Amy Lee is a talented singer with a lovely voice. She reminds me a bit more of Anette. What she lacks is the sheer physical power of Floor, and the support of one of hard rock's greatest songwriters to challenge her.
yeh Marko doesn't do screamo. he does the gravel, the grit, the rasp, but always with a good singing voice underneath. it's an effect to portray emotions, not "to be metal".

Quick critique not a criticism be careful of stopping the video because you think it’s the end of the song. The magic of Nightwish is the crowd interaction with the Band. So I will guarantee you will miss a lot of discovery. Your right about there is no good place to pause you’ll get better as time goes by but your doing a great job! Also Wacken 2013, Wembly, Tempere and Buenios Aires are all on DVD. You mentioned the tightness of the band but it also extends to the crew. FYI-Because of Covid and lockdowns and no touring all sales/profit of Nightwish merchandise goes to the support crews. My opinion - just as Floor is the best female singer in metal today, Marko is the best male singer in metal today. Want to see his diversity? In 2014 Jukka had to step back due to a long time of severe insomnia. He is doing fine now and is still with NW, working on the management side. I just love your positivity guys! My only minor quibble is that Marko is a tenor, not a baritone. That being said, he has an excellent range and I love his voice. I am a natural baritone, and Marko has a speaking voice which is significantly higher than mine. I know this because I met him at eight meet aand greets in Canada.
Okay, Read And listen well !!!! Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the !!!!!! Windmill !!!!! (continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch. The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classical trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast 😉. Heartily second your recommendations! Will add Bandmaid, an all female hard rock Japanese band; and Lovebites, an all female heavy metal Japanese band. The ladies in both bands are superb musicians and great live. Lovebites uses the same sound company for live shows as Nightwish.

imo his guitar solos are the definition of a true/real guitar solo. something that adds/fits to the song and not just a guitar player showing off his skills in the middle of a song. if it’s a wild song he shows off his skills the way it fits, if it’s a slow song he plays something chill. but whatever he does, he does it with style 😎

I have often said that 12 of my 10 most favorite songs are from Nightwish. Shudder Before the Beautiful live at Wembly has an incredible guitar solo. The only real shredding I have heard from them.

I really love this track.. but another couple to check out are 7 Days To The Wolves ( live at Wembley Arena), also Ghost River. You won't be disappointed.

And about Emppu's guitar solos... He does have plenty of solos, but these are usually very well incorporated into the songs, so they don't jump in your face as much as with your typical metal acts. Music is the single most important goal of this band and everything is done towards putting out the best songs they can come up with... And Tuomas is guiding the way as the Metal Mozart. He has always excelled at making music where the entire band is at their a-game and he knows the instruments/vocalists he has at his disposal and he uses them masterfully...

You’ll have more than six favorites for sure. This one goes pretty hard. Marko is a very accomplished and versatile singer, that also sings in a variety of styles. Much to discover there as well. The Islander from Tampere might be a good choice there. I think either Yours is an Empty Hope (which will blow your mind), and 7 Days to the Wolves from the Wembley 2015 show next. Both Marko and Floor sing in both of those. Enjoy your Nightwish journey. I’ll be watching it.

Floor healed an emotionally ailing band from to the trouble with their previous singers. Never saw the Nightwish more confident and happy than with Troy and Floor on stage.
Oh, Marco has an excellent voice.. If they need Rasp, he does that.. If they need harsh vocals, he does that.. But, if they need someone to smoothly harmonize right along with Floor, he can do that too..
The poet and the pendulum live is amazing you should check it out!
Not many reactors notice it: adapting to other voices is one of Floor’s most amazing qualities, she makes every co singer sound better, watch this in “Sancta Terra” with Simone Simons or “let this river flow” with Soilwork
May i add "Christmas Truce" from Sabaton to the list ? The Part of Floor is short but still good.
Floor's first and second bands are After Forever and Revamp. Good place to go and listen to Floor when she was younger. Then her singing on the Dutch show Beste Zangers 2019.

Floor is a vocal nerd (her words) unfortunately Amy Lee is the only one in America that we have here. Amy Lee has a wonderful voice but Floor is THE GODDESS!!

7 Days to the Wolves at Wembly . I mean your going to do the whole Wacken concert so check out and sample other concerts. Then you can go back at listened to the whole concerts over hearing a lot of new songs as well as a familiar song. Other suggestions, I want My Tears Back, Buenios Aires, and Greatest Show On Earth Tempere my favorite version but don’t stop the video when you think the song is over trust me you will get the Nightwish Army very upset because it’s one of the best moments captured on the relationship of the band, crew & fans! Marko is an old school metal singer, think Ozzy or Lemmy Kilmister, but with the warm soft tenor of a folkie. He mixes well with Floor, as he had with Tarja and Anette. His high is just a bit lower than any of the Three and his low not terribly lower than Floors. That's just my uneducated ear, check with the vocal coachs on the exact range. You might "skip ahead" of Gabriel's list and listen to his last two solo studio songs, Endlessness with Nightwish and The Voice of My Father, which he wrote for Pyre Of The Black Heart, a solo album. Also an amazing bassist and guitarist, he and Empuu are riff monsters.
Speaking of Evanescence, Amy Lee is a talented singer with a lovely voice. She reminds me a bit more of Anette. What she lacks is the sheer physical power of Floor, and the support of one of hard rock's greatest songwriters to challenge her.
yeh Marko doesn't do screamo. he does the gravel, the grit, the rasp, but always with a good singing voice underneath. it's an effect to portray emotions, not "to be metal".
Nice your comics on the wall, because Tuomas Holopain of Nightwish, the composer and founder of the band, is als into comics. Also on RUclips you can find some of his magnificent compositions of the Life and times of scrooge. Of witch he is a great fan of it. Beautiful music.

Floors head turning is called . The Dutch Wind Mill! Heck out one of Nightwishes older songs , Stargazer live of course at Tempere with Floor. Wish I could said you the link but don’t know how. Check out Ayreon, The Day the World Breaks Down, official video. I feel the European bands singers along with Asian bands are far ahead of US in this old Metal/Rock head humble opinion. Quick critique not a criticism be careful of stopping the video because you think it’s the end of the song. The magic of Nightwish is the crowd interaction with the Band. So I will guarantee you will miss a lot of discovery. Your right about there is no good place to pause you’ll get better as time goes by but your doing a great job! Also Wacken 2013, Wembly, Tempere and Buenios Aires are all on DVD. You mentioned the tightness of the band but it also extends to the crew. FYI-Because of Covid and lockdowns and no touring all sales/profit of Nightwish merchandise goes to the support crews. My opinion - just as Floor is the best female singer in metal today, Marko is the best male singer in metal today.

Again another enjoyable reaction guys! That high note going up and down in one breath is called a "glissando" ( I learned that from another NW fan haha). Perhaps 2 reactions to songs from other concerts? Then you're going to meet their 6th member Troy Donockly with his Uilleann (Ill-en) pipes, the Irish bagpipes..."I Want My Tears Back" Live at Buenos Aires 2019 with Floor dancing on the stage and a cowd that is amazing!🤘....and Kai Hahto, the current drummer who replaced Jukka on drums. In 2014 Jukka had to step back due to a long time of severe insomnia. He is doing fine now and is still with NW, working on the management side. And as already mentioned in the comments "7 Days to the Wolves" live at Wembly 2015. Enjoy them!

My only minor quibble is that Marko is a tenor, not a baritone. That being said, he has an excellent range and I love his voice.
I am a natural baritone, and Marko has a speaking voice which is significantly higher than mine. I know this because I met him at eight meet aand greets in Canada.

Floor has 3 distinct styles. Head banging(straight forward, then back), hair whip(almost like cracking a bull whip) and the !!!!!! Windmill !!!!! (continuous 360 degree revolutions). Why Windmill? Well she is Dutch.
The “scream” at the end is called a glissando, going from low to high and back, for classical trained singers this is an exercise to warm up the vocal cords, so Floor will do this probably every day before breakfast 😉.
For me this song is like a Coffee with Red Bull 🤘🔥🤘.

Heartily second your recommendations! Will add Bandmaid, an all female hard rock Japanese band; and Lovebites, an all female heavy metal Japanese band. The ladies in both bands are superb musicians and great live. Lovebites uses the same sound company for live shows as Nightwish.
