I was there as a guest of one of the female lead vocalists. Never heard of Ayreon before. My jaw dropped on the floor and I loved every second of it. It was surreal.
Every single album has its own story arc. With all the albums following another huge story arc. It is a wild ride.

Guys you should check out on Amazon the documentary "soaring highs and brutal lows " with Floor, Simone, Alissa (Arch Enemy), Charlotte (delain) , Kobra (Kobra and the lotus), Anneke (Vurr), Doro, Marcela (Mayan).

Fun Fact: That's Joost van den Broek on keys. Aside from being an obviously talented keyboardist, the dude spends a lot of time in the studio producing albums for some of the bands we know and love today, such as Epica. Also, he and Floor were in After Forever together. MR. R&R, WHEN THE HELL ARE YOU GOING TO DO SOME AFTER FOREVER???
Plus, he has been working on songs with Floor recently for her solo album.

To be fair, that casual "Oh hi btw!"-pirouette got me as well. lol Like having a long in the making garden party with all kinds of celebs and she just HAPPENS to cluelessly walk by the fence, thinking "Why not. I'm here already - may just as well hop in there."
I could make the point that nobody is ever prepared for Floor Jansen coming on stage -
But that point has been well made. If not overcooked :)
P.S.: Next time ya check out SABATON - could you please do "No Bullets Fly"? You will love the Metal, but personally, it's the storytelling I am more fascinated about.

Maggy is on one album of Nightmare and also on Beautiful Sin as main singer. Both rather good albums
@@ShadowhispersBand I know it's very subjective matter, but to me Mike Mills is the best Ayreon singer of them all... unique voice and range, very distinctive. And his own Toehider works are simply jawdropping. #onlytoehider
Mattia Galliani I like Damian Wilson and Mike of course. Damian puts so much soul in his voice and Mike is simply nuts and his range is amazing. Plus both of them are really nice. Spend some time with Mike at the Graspop festival. He seemed kind of lost there and I picked him up having a beer or two with him. Luckily I had my Toereon shirt on that day 😉

Ya Floor has that effect. A lot of blokes faffing about singing a great song and Floor Jansen comes center stage and absolutely blows everything sky high ! She’s a true wonderful performer, her voice and presence is immense. Sorry I forgot about all the other guys and gals there, 🤷♂️

Hansi Kursch was one of the two male singers (he was on the right I believe) going back and forth near the beginning. He is a super talented vocalist and you need to check out more of his band, Blind Guardian. The Script For my Requiem, Sacred Worlds, Lionheart are all wonderful.
