      This is a Beer Gun from Kegland www.kegland.com.au/bottle-filler-beer-gun.html
      There is now one with duo tight fittings.
      Gas line connects at bottom of the hand gun and splits into 2, 1 goes to gas bottle and the other goes to your delivery vessel(fermenter usually). This brings gas to the fermenter and the gun. The hose on the end of the gun is beer and connects to the fermenter. I use aboutr 2-3psi of gas in the gun allowing the pressure in the fermenter do the bulk of the work to push beer. Placing gun nozzle into bottom of your cold sanitised bottle you squeeze 2 seconds of gas into the bottle via the gas knob. Then pull the handle up to bring beer in, filling to the top, removing gun and capping on the foam that should develop(getting cap on pretty quick to avoid oxygen getting in).
      This is not the best equipment for pressure transfer but it is the cheapest and easiest to use and hasn't failed me yet.

    On the subject of quick ferments, have you tried Kveik yeast? I've been watching vids saying it just takes 7-10 days from brewing to drinking with no off flavours. Brews as high as 35 degrees too.

      I’ve tried kveik, it was super quick in a normal fermenter. I can imagine kveik in a fermzilla would finish fermentation in a few days, not 7-10

    Please tell me about your bottling wand. What kind is it, and where did you get it? I am a mead maker, and I use a plastic one. I like yours better.

    Hi John, How long do you think the beer will stay good in the bottles? Same as bottle conditioned bottles? Presumably depends on beer type and refrigeration but just wondered if you’d noticed any difference or deterioration. Keen to get one of these for sure. Cheers

      recently tasted a few brews, including a batch from Christmas, nearly 3 months in the bottle, couldn't pick a difference from when it was fresh.

    Great video LJ
    As you aren't using carb drops etc. to produce more C02, what was the steady pressure at final ferment just before you cold crashed it? What was the temp you crashed to, and what was the pressure after crashing? I'm getting back into brewing and years ago I had a setup to do this from a cornelius keg, but I never really got the numbers right to have a good head on the final product.
    Cheers!

      I have been letting pressure come to 15psi before cold crashing at 1°. That brings pressure down to around 2psi which I assume means I have 13psi in the liquid, so I get about that in the bottle.... which is about where I serve off tap. Very happy with the results from 2 month old samples.

      @@littlejohnsbrewing9199 is it possible to connect gas when cold crashing and hence keeping psi to around 12psi all the way through the process ?

    • @littlejohnsbrewing9199
      @littlejohnsbrewing9199  3 года назад +2

      @@timwood8733 I see a lot of people who are doing that. It will help ensure you have adequate co2 in the beer and it also stops your FV from collapsing with the pressure change. I have not done it as I had no issue's with carb, but my last brew the sides did collapse and the final beer was less carbed than expected. It would also elimate the issue of having to get the psi level up before end of ferment I am contemplating a sodastream botlle and connectors just for cold crcash so it will go in the fridge easy.

    Do I understand it right? You have beer AND bottles in room temperature here?

    • @littlejohnsbrewing9199
      @littlejohnsbrewing9199  3 года назад

      I refer to the bottles at room temperature... they are empty. The context is that I did not cool the bottles before filling. I normally stick the crate of bottles in to the chest freezer for 10 minutes to cool them down to help avoid foaming when filling. Other than that I do store some beer at room temp, especially now I am using the conditioning fridge to ferment.

      @@littlejohnsbrewing9199 It was not an accusation - I was realy curious about its, cause I am going to buy FZ and bottle with gun. Everyone is talking about CRUCIAL CHILLING to prevent foaming and I ser here, that IT is a myth :)

    • @halfofling
      @halfofling 3 года назад +1

      Another question: how much pressure did you add to FZ and gun to bottle in RT?

    • @littlejohnsbrewing9199
      @littlejohnsbrewing9199  3 года назад

      @@halfofling hey mate, did not feel the original comment was accusatory...... I just simply forgot to chill these bottles... there is a lot of comment about them needing to be cold to help with not foaming, and I think it is ideal if you can, but clearly it is not neccesary. I only have a bout 2-4 psi on the gas, just enough to help push it without foaming. Fermenter is chilled to under 1° though.
