Pete You have relapsed into your second childhood LOl. A lovely video indeed, always good to see someone show you how, and very innovative. Even now at 65 I love watching Ivor on RUclips. It wax a wonderful series, innocent, no violence, and jow good was the narration by Oliver Postgate. You just need sound now so Ivor can whistle Guide the oh thy great Jehovah.
Well well well! "It doesn't get much better than that" is absolutely right! That was brilliant. From start to finish very entertaining. I grew up in South Wales and always watched Ivor when I got home from school. Ive subscribed to your channel and now I'm going to watch all your other stuff. All the best from Canada! Diolch yn fawr!
Excellent, I really enjoyed this. It goes to show what fun can be had by using toy trains that can be picked up from a car boot sale. I did one of these a while ago using the Greendale Rocket toy from Postman Pat.
Great little engine. Thanks for this. Funnily enough I just rediscovered Ivor after nigh on 50 years thanks to RUclips, where I also found the black & white first series which I never knew existed. All you need are the Ivor sound effects and a dragon or two and the illusion will be complete. An Ivor layout could be fun.
Pete, you never fail to amaze me with your innovative approach to challenges, your skills are superb, your enthusiasm legendary and I feel very grateful to call you a friend. Keep well, we all love seeing the projects that you complete in G1, whether it is Ivor (which I remember with real fondness), your stunning live steam models, your beautiful track and the REAL welcome that always flows from you. Thank you.
Great video, inspiring. I would be interested to hear if anyone has created an Ivor using an OO Gauge 0-4-0 Hornby loco. Either 3D printed or resin cast.
Fantastic work Peter! Almost makes me want to get one myself! Gauge 1 far too big for me though. Only improvement for me would have been to cut out and brace a cab area and fit the electrickery in there but you've done a marvellous job. Thanks for posting, very fond memories of watching Ivor when I was at infant school. Would be nice to see something similar in 4mm, not sure if anyone has had a go? Could be a job for a creative person with a 3D printer!!!
Maybe one day I'll make a ho scale ivor, and if I do and record it on youtube, I will give you credit. May you have great luck for your magnificent life.
Ivor The Engine was a great little series. I loved to watch it as a very young boy in the very early 1960's. Keep up the good Gauge 1 work. It's a pity that someone like Hornby or Bachmann doesn't make a RTR version of Ivor as I would certainly buy one with a few trucks. I guess Thomas The Tank Engine has cornered the youth market.
This has given my inspiration for my own projects. This little loco and the show give me charm and nostalgia, and this conversion was so happy to watch. Love your videos! Must ask though, why'd you repaint Ivor when he was already painted? Regards, Nico
hay peter thanks for makeing the vids i mess around in model railroading but im more in to HO and i evan got a inch and a half gauge watch it way bigger and you can ride on but thanks for the vid
Thank you so much for showing this Peter. Can I just ask you please, where did you get the speed controller, charge jack and switch from ? I'm in the middle of building a narrow gauge 16mm to the foot and want to use battery power. This takes Me back to Ivor the engine when I was a Lad ( 63 now ) loved watching it ! Kind regards Paul.
Hi Peter, Thank you for your reply. I did find a speed controller on Amazon but will have a look at the site you have shown Me. I have built a kit version of Ivor in card from rail-roadmodels and have just some detail to do and the chassis to build. regards Paul.
Peter, this custom Ivor model is really good, well done, also Ivor deserves more respect😅
This was lovely.
Ivor the engine is one of the best shows I’ve ever come across and you’ve made a lovely model, well done sir.
thank you
Love this! I grew up with Ivor. Was most impressed by your engineering.
Very fun little video! I love seeing all the custom metalwork and fabrication that went into making that compact chasis, Great vid Cheers.

And Jones The Steam and Dai Station figures
the original thomas model: FINALLY A MAN WHO LIKES GUAGE 1!
Honestly great model👍
And decently cheap even in US dollars
I love the lvor you made it's so cool
Fantastic conversion, it would be great if I could find that Ivor money box for myself and attempt to do what you did
Fantastic video Peter this has given me an idea to transform my steam engine piggy bank into a loco
From a engine that carried coins now pulls Goods and passenger trains on a garden railway
Spectacular job with that, I'm amazed how you thought to take a coin box and make it a model.
Building a LEGO version of Ivor right now when I came across your video. 🚂
well done
Fantastic job do you still have little Ivor?
where did you get the money box? Id like one for myself
Car boot sale

Maybe one day I'll make a ho scale ivor, and if I do and record it on youtube, I will give you credit. May you have great luck for your magnificent life.
you should give ivor working lights
That look fantastic, could the body sit a little lower so the wheel are tucked in a little under the wheel arches?
oh
I'm not gonna lie I kept thinking I got an eBay notification because of the transition sound
Honestly same
I enjoyed that you Built that
I definitely buy one if ever you were selling any? You sir are a genius
Thank you
Nice little project that :)
I'm off to find the original b&w Ivor films on RUclips now 😀
You deserve more subscribers
Tidmouth sheds Productions WAY more
I wish it was track powered but it’s still great
Track powered locos like Clock work will become a thing of the past soon.

Can you try and put the motor, wheels and all the electronics in the description?
I made an 0 gauge Ivor out of an old olive can and a Hornby 0 gauge MO clockwork mech. Sits on a quarter rail of track - v sweet 👍
very good!
Excellent project, very well done. Next stop, the coal fired live steam version!
now all you need are Jones the Steam and Dai Station figurines!
And also a Welsh Dragon too
my child hood dreams thank you for making it a toy
i am a filiino i use to watch my child hood train
filipino i mean...
that looks awsome
shouldnt you add more weights just in case?
This is so cool
This is great i want to have that steam eingine
I paused after 5:47 to check my ebay notification! :-)
what a minute ivor has two lamps on each side of his footplate why ivor only has one lamp on the front of the boiler?
This is so cute! Greetings from Southern California. How did you come up with axle bearings for this? Were they part of the original gearbox assembly?
no just simple holes in the side frames made from 0.75mm steel
Oof, California? I feel required to ask if you're still alive and well, mr Kevin
This has given my inspiration for my own projects. This little loco and the show give me charm and nostalgia, and this conversion was so happy to watch. Love your videos! Must ask though, why'd you repaint Ivor when he was already painted?

Railway Enthusiast 11 he repainted Ivor because the condition of the original paint wasn't that great.
@@ArtBoy54Productions i guess you have a point.
By chance have you been thinking about using Thomas & Friends models ?
Great model but what is the width of a single wagon wheel from left to right
Gauge 1. 45mm track gauge. about 77mm wide across body
Would you say that this is a how to
Now that was very interesting maybe make one from ernest the engine and others
hay peter thanks for makeing the vids i mess around in model railroading but im more in to HO and i evan got a inch and a half gauge watch it way bigger and you can ride on but thanks for the vid
Could you do a Thomas replica gauge 1 model?
perhaps
Why You make Thomas and friends gauge 1 models?
You should make a gauge 1 Thomas model replica!
And now I want to make one.
I wish i had a ivor the engine money box
Aww it's very cute
Wow! Is excelent!
Thank you
Think you could do Thomas the tank engine?
Got do a Coach for ivor!
Thank you so much for showing this Peter.

Peter: **calls ivor a she**
Me: this is not okie dokie
Interesting. Perhaps he is a transgender loco!
Perhaps
Very not Okie Dokie
Love it.
I would like to see a gauge 1 Thomas.
That is a gauge 1 Thomas!
I hope Ivor can deliver his welsh coal on time
Maybe u should give it sound from the show
that so cool
Now one just got announced
I got it brand new for £6 from the battlefield line
only 15 pounds... not too bad!
I think I’d make the chassis out of polystyrene
Ivor the engine
Did you know that people had made gauge one steam powered engines?
Oh yes I have quite a few!
Make Henry the green engine
You made a piggy bank into a gauge 1 locomotive?
can you make thomas the tank engine
Done it many times
