A word from your Starwind: Thank you everyone who came to the premiere and taking the time to watch and comment. Had a lot of fun making this one, espicially with talking to Daniel Postgate. Until next time though enjoy!
I love Smallfilms. I just love that sense of "so we had this idea and we just made this series because we like the idea." I feel like kids' TV today is so beholden to enormous production companies, merchandising and budgets, it's so risk-averse, you don't get that kind of ingenuity and pure creativity.
Should be worth mentioning the First Story, The B/W series 2 and the Colour series 3 have been recently released as the Ivor the Engine Complete Collection on DVD and Blu-ray back in October, so if you want to experience the full series, that would be the best way to do it.
Small Films are the god makes of children television. All of their shows are so wonderful and beautiful and just so magical! When I clicked on this video, In. was worried this would be another case of Missing Episodes Lost to time (like the 97 Missing Doctor Who Episodes) but I’m glad this is just a case of them not being available to the public as of now I’m interested in what other Thomas fans think of Ivor The Engine as whenever it gets mentioned by Thomas fans (which is almost never) it’s only ever a passing mention & linked to that pilot made in the 70s by Andrew Lloyd Webber. Personally, despite not nearly having as many episodes or as big of a legacy, Ivor means just as much to me as Thomas & I will never forget the fun tales on his railway
Awesome. I remember seeing a bit of Ivor the Engine, and even had a couple of books, but it's a real shame to hear this. I even planned to collect the show, but now I hear that not all of the series are available on DVD! But at least Smallfilms has got a Facebook page and their original six episodes are on there.
Series 1 ended with Ivor finally singing in the choir. Series 2 ended with the Antiquarian Society completing the Dragon’s half-crowns meter Gas Powered volcano, which was adapted into colour in Series 3. Series 3 ends with the dragons moving into the root of the mountain Mr Dimwity’s gold mine is located after the failings of the half-crowns meter gas powered volcano now that half-crowns are no longer money. They also moved there to hide from the Antiquarian Society after their children mistook the copper statue of St George slaying the dragon and burned it. Why on earth the statue of St George is in Wales is anyone’s guess.

I've got it I've got it He said if anyone had the audio for the one Thomas narrator and the lost episodes here the audio and as soon as he said radio I remembered something I had completely forgotten I had in my collection a record of audio only episodes of the lone ranger And once I remembered that I began thinking Maybe just maybe there's a record somewhere with the audio
Their making a live action Ivor the engine movie? I know that if I tell this to Americans their not going to know what I'm talking I don't even know if Ivor has that much Pull as Thomas does with the American audience
Is it just me or does your avatar in the thumbnail look like a girl compared to your other thumbnails but i think that it's done way so it can fit the thumbnail
Because the actual outfit has a long sleeve shirt underneath and a short black sleeve on top. The one you refer to is that cheaper made version sold for stupid money. Also this is what I use to wear.

And now we finally have The Black and White Versions on DVD and Blu Ray. You were right mate.
Well the black and white episodes of Ivor are no longer going to be lost media as we are going to get the episodes on DVD in October!
There have also been 7 audio stories uploaded on Spotify in December 2020
Oliver Postgate had such a lovely voice.
As an American this is all new to me but its fascinating. I need more history lesson on UK lost media. I love it.

So, why hasn’t anyone thought of trying to Get Ivor the Engine on a streaming service?
Didn't expect Halifax Library to pop up. Instantly recognisable building. Spent plenty of time there in the nineties as well.
Haha and more so recudnisable as an eye sore now. The one at piece hall doesn't hold a candle to that brownish yellow interior!

Thank you!! I can't wait til these episodes are available. Brilliant stuff !

This looks interesting, I’ve always loved Ivor the Engine :)
Remember watching this on nick jr classics
Nick my nan remembers watching all the black and white episodes but she doesn't remember what the plots were
I think a hd release on blue ray world be good if that could ever happen
anyone else ignore the premiere so they can watch the episode uninterrupted?
R.I.P Oliver postgate
One thing i wonder is, why has no one made a fan series of Ivor The Engine like many of the other Thomas fan series?
My Version of Arthur from Thomas: "Ivor the Engine?" "Neeever heard of em -_-"

*Arthur sees Ivor*
"WHAT THE EVERLOVING, TRUCK BUMPING, MONTAGUE CRUSHING, HOLLY HELL IS THAT ONE OFF LOOKING ABOMINATION???"
This is very informative
Postgate and Awdry both share something in common
They both saw life in steam locomotives and bought it to life in fiction
That Oliver Postgate has such a nice voice
Haha green choo choo lost train episodes go brrr

Maybe just maybe there's a record somewhere with the audio
Ivor the engine is boss.
True
I’m surprised that Ivor and the Railway Series never had a crossover
Their making a live action Ivor the engine movie? I know that if I tell this to Americans their not going to know what I'm talking I don't even know if Ivor has that much Pull as Thomas does with the American audience
Was that back so many years ago when you were a kid
