Since you tested the resistance that came with it as well as shifting your gears was there much of a difference? Why can't we just shift gears on the bike instead?
Is the trainer axle safe to ride on (the road, etc.) or does it need to be swapped out before putting the bike under load? Thanks for the video - it helped a ton.
So my wife has a bike but it’s like yours and the rear tire doesn’t look like it’s designed for the quick release. The tire size matches the product requirement though. There seems to be a gap between the two pieces that hold the tire when they are fully extended which is where the replacement skewer comes in. This tire doesn’t see to match the skewer size. Any thoughts?
Is it good? I saw someone selling it for around $30, barely used and almost new but with the screw lock on the wired speed remote missing. Can you still connect the wired speed remote to the handlebar safely even without that screw lock the seller mentioned?
I just put my together and I thought I had the same problem, then I watched "Deuter Bike Trainer Flywheel Disassembly Teardown" and it gave me an idea. I tried spinning the chrome disk without the tire touching and I noticed there is a difference between setting #1 & #6. Next I tried riding the bicycle and I noticed the difference between setting #1 & #6, its small, but there is a difference. I have an 18-speed bicycle, so I can always shift gears for more resistance.
how hard is the hardest setting. Can i make intervals or threshold works on my road bike? trainer tyre reduces the sound? its too noisy from the video. Thank you
I just put my bike on it - 700c 38c tyre (hybrid bike) .. all good but I don't sense any resistance change when I go through the settings of 1-6 ? any ideas thoughts?
Great stuff, Dion! Can it fit my 2022 Trek Marlin5 size XL? "Hub rear Formula DC-27, alloy, 6-bolt, 7sp freehub, 135x5mm QR" --- "Skewer rear 152x5mm QR"
I don't understand about the axels. I saw you changed it and then you said it does not accept 12mm. I don't know a lot about this stuff, so this may sound dumb. But I have a City Bike, that has a kickstand that is on the back wheel, that when down, lifts the back tire off the ground. It is not a typical kickstand, but is great because it keeps the bike upright when in use. So I don't know how to determine if this trainer will work for my bike, because of that kickstand, and because I would have no idea how to change out the axel on it. How do you determine the size of the axel?
@@MrDionWright it's bolted. So the wheel is bolted on, and on top of that is the kickstand, as well as the rear rack. So there's a lot going on on that back wheel. I was looking more closely at it and it looks like it will be a huge undertaking to try and change the axel. I was looking at some other trainers, and saw some that look like they just slip over the bolts and then you tighten them on. Does that sound like a possibility, or do all trainers require changing the axel? And thank you for responding!
@@MrDionWright I found a trainer that looks like it will work on my bike without having to change anything or take anything off. I am going to order it and give it a try to see what happens. Thank you for responding to me!

Didn't want to, but I gave you a dislike. Here's why. Camera is fixed so I am not able to see everything you are doing. Plus, you can show each piece of the device to the camera and explain what the component is, what it is supposed to do, and how to adjust it. I don't know how to adjust my trainer based on your video. :(
Nice video. Quick to the point. And still answering questions to this day. Appreciate this tutorial.
Thanks for the video . Planning to buy deuter-MT-04 😊 greetings from Philippines ‼️
Since you tested the resistance that came with it as well as shifting your gears was there much of a difference? Why can't we just shift gears on the bike instead?
If you set the resistance too much on the trainer you will definitely kill your tires.
Is the trainer axle safe to ride on (the road, etc.) or does it need to be swapped out before putting the bike under load? Thanks for the video - it helped a ton.
It's safe to ride on, I haven't removed it since installing. I ride with it daily👍
How do you know how you want the back tire resistance knob set?

Mine is so loud. I have a smooth wheel on it. Is it possible to make any adjustments to make it quieter?
Unfortunately not, I switched tires also
Great video, but who made the beat?
Looks solid. Getting ready to pull the trigger and buy one. How’s it holding up?
Holding up exceptionally well 👍🏾
How is it? about to get one myself
Trainer looks really well made, bummer on the no 12mm through compatibility though. Keep up the good work!
Thanks, will do!
i have a merida 29'er x 2.20 via thru-axle and a boosted frame and it doesn't fit to this MT-04. my other 27.5 via QR fits perfectly.

how did you find the tension knob, i just set it up and don't seem to find much a difference between levels

i have this trainer too, but the tire is too noisy. if i change the tire to the road bike one, are the noise gone?
Drastically quieter!
@@MrDionWright appreciate that sir, thank you.
Hi the noise coming from the equipment is kinda loud when im using it. Is there a way to lessen the noise?
thoughts on the trainer after a long period of time?
Still satisfied as the first day!
When you set up the trainer, the tools are free or not?
All the necessary tools are included.
Is it loud in person and does it have burning tire smell?
A little on the loud side yes, tire smell no

How was the noise compared to roller?
Really isn't bad with my XC tires, maybe noisy if neighbors live underneath you?
Never used roller before
