I like seeing a review by somebody who actually uses a tool day in & day out instead of some RUclips Milwaukee shill who talks more about the box and and wouldn’t know what it is if he tripped over it. Thanks Mike
I found myself rebuilding a Cummins ISX CM-871... I needed a die grinder to remove several gallons of RTV before I in frame it... I bought both the straight and angle Milwaukee units. As of now, I have been using the 3M Roloc Bristle Discs to remove the RTV from the block. I have to say, these die grinders, are the BOMB! Like Mike stated, do not put pressure on these like you would with an air grinder, let the tool do the work. I wish I would have bought these years ago.
I bought one loved it and bought a second myself I definitely see myself picking up a 3rd and possibly fourth. I have six air die grinders. Milwaukee has been on kill mode this year with the new tool offerings not just in automotive but other fields aswell. I too bought mine off the cornwell truck, this is my first cornwell dealer ever in the 20 years I have been buying pro tools, I was impressed by the milwaukee selection, it wasn't all the 99.99 specials filling home depots shelves.
This was my entry into the Milwaukee m12 line. I’ve been using it for a week. The runtime is not an issue for me and it works very well and is very well balanced. It doesn’t vibrate like an air die grinder.
I totally understand the reason for more than one grinder. Who wants to change discs? I have three angle grinders and need one more for just that reason. I hope you get another one for Christmas. :)
Hey man, grinding is like sanding. I do body work and just like you said it! Let the tool do the work, wether sanding some bondo or grinding metal. Don’t put excessive pressure on your work!
Thank you for sharing your experience with the die grinder. You mentioned a couple of times you paid, they paid, how cares. Just show and tell us why you like the tool. Cheers mate 🇦🇺.
I had a just to look at this a couple weeks ago, but my hands are on the smaller side and it was just a bit too bulky for me to use comfortably so I had to pass on it. Still nice to see it's holding up
Like always bang for the buck its MILWAUKEE. Must say once you go cordless it became so obvious how much of a nuisance air lines are Few years back had a tech trip because of air line he walked over fell and broke his arm , both upper and lower parts of his arm Next day cordless was the way we went , shop kicking in $300 per tech to get us to buy cordless off the trucks So much cleaner, WAY QUITER, less muscle strain on the body and no 4 or 5 air lines put together to reach a repair out in the parking lot just to mention a few PRO,S on going cordless
Great tool I've used mine to strip down some metal stair rails. What was the name of the brush looking attachment that you were using before you stripped the entire disc?
The new snap-on due grinder goes to a higher rpm, continously variable, has a lower profile, is 14v, and won't shut off when you apply pressure to it. I found the Milwaukee one to be weak so I returned it.
ok you finally sold me on it. thank for the review. i seen many in the beginning and just wasn't 100% sure after picking up the m12 cut off saw 2522-20. i was not impressed with it. For light jobs it did its job good i was hoping it would possibly replaced my die grinder but not yet lol. Definitely will be picking one of these up .
I feel like I would be disappointed if I bought one thinking it would replace my 1/2 HP Matco pneumatic grinder. Convenience sure but will it rip through a 1 1/2” nut that’s seized or a brake chamber rod?
I need contact info for a Cornwell dealer, we haven’t had one down here in Columbus GA for years, and I can’t find one. Milwaukee power tools are the best!
I think is should really be stressed that these types of tools are not for HEAVY DUTY applications. But I’m liking it. I could see where it would really come in handy.
I’ve never used a due grinder before a few days ago. Used pneumatic to open up a slot for carriage bolts because it was too tight. Boss recommends I buy a die grinder soon and I’m already in the M12 line. Is this powerful enough to use with carbide burr bits on steel?
How's the overall torque of the tool? I guess one of my concerns would be having to slow down just to let the too "do it's job", rather than being able to quickly get something cleaned and moving onto the next part.
Half my shop bought this grinder and their eating 4.0 batteries for each car they do brakes all around. Only reason i haven't bought one yet and still sticking to air
@@wesd991 agree but the 6.o amp is fair enough, specially if you get a pair of those cheap Chinese battery 6.0 amp . 20 usd each one works real good for the price
Air hose in electric grinder? I extensively use air drills at work. Occasionally I use a cordless one, and look real stupid trying to figure out why my electric drill won’t blow shavings away like my air drills will!
I have a bunch of die grinders so I don’t need to mess with those dinky wrenches every two minutes. If the tool only price gets down to $150 on sale I’ll probably buy a bunch of these to replace my pneumatic die grinders.
Ehn, I see it as they each have their place: Busting rust off a set of hubs? Why run the air line, and deal with literally ear damaging noise? Doing something more demanding, or that will take a while? Yeah, break out the air and get comfortable. Each has benefits.

My Son has one can't wait to try it as I'm old school & love my air tools... Thanks FRM!
Flat Rate Master, the kind of guy to have several grinders, one dedicated for manicures only.
You have seen my fingernails, you know i don't do manicures😉🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@flatratemaster that's the truth 💯 😄🤭😄
Is one for the bunions?

Old habits are hard to break. Now we need an air hammer type tool from Milwaukee to end air totally
Pneumatic belt sander too, matco makes one
I 100% agree with you. They pretty much have everything else but a tool to replace a air hammer.
@Allison Duramax
Didn't know that I'll have to look that up.

Love Milwaukee tools they alway impress me. You should try that with the 6.0 battery it would be interesting to see the run time.
Love your box, mine has been getting stuck. I’ll give it a try before I leave it collecting dust. Thanks
Thank you for sharing your experience with the die grinder. You mentioned a couple of times you paid, they paid, how cares. Just show and tell us why you like the tool. Cheers mate 🇦🇺.
i didn't think the air powered die grinder would go away. Congrats to Milwaukee for coming up with these
wonder if Milwaukee will have a newer gen with any upgrades...
All the Milwaukee tools look great. Problem is, my shop only has 1 tool guy and he's not dependable.
I haven't see the snap on guy for over 1 yrs, due to the covid lol
I’ll have to pencil one of those into the budget, great video

don't feel bad, ive taken a socket and tried to plug it into an air line before before realizing what i was doing.
Epic Rage Gaming I’ve done that too. There’s a second where you just stare at it like “why won’t it attach? Am I missing something? Oh…”
Ya, the first time I used it I wish it had a quick change chuck to change bit. I'm going to buy a second one. I want it ready to go when I grab it.
I LOVE MY CORDLESS TOOLS FROM THE BIG M. I AGREE HAVE TO PLAY WITH THE POWER SETTINGS TO FIND WHAT WORKS BEST
It's a good tool to use to cut cross hatching into freshly resurfaced brake rotors.
Unfortunately I've only been able to use mine a couple of times but when I did I really liked it
Thanks for the update iv been waiting to hear your input on the tool before I pick one up 😎👍 dang I’m excited to go get one now.
This grinder looks like a awesome tool! I can’t wait for a promo or even if I seen it in store W/o a promo or sale I’d buy it!
I know Milwaukee was saying it would do 25,000rpm at NPS... The one I picked up said only 24,500... Wonder if they de tuned it a bit
What is that extension you have? Where can one get one?? Thank you. The vid was great!!

The cut off saw really isn't designed for metal cutting, it can do it but🤷♂️

I am curious what it is that makes you like it so much given the short run time.
No air hose, i mostly use them for cleaning hubs, so i will get 3 or 4 brakes jobs done easily on 1 2.0 battery
@@flatratemaster thanks for the reply! Makes sense. I love their tools.

Can you put a cutoff wheel on these? Has anyone done it? How well does it work?

Timekeeper Milwaukee’s tag line is “Nothing but heavy duty.”
I suppose not 🤣
Your shops electricity bill should drop also. Making compressed air consumes a lot of electricity!
Heard the Stright grinder coming out next year. Getting that too.
M-12 straight.
It is
I was concerned about the dust getting in the motor.
Don't have to worry about dust in the motor is brushless
Lol yeah i love the tool! I use it a lot too!
Fantastic. I'm gonna check em out. Thanks FRM
I gotta get one. I want to get the straight one also
I hope I can find one on sale soon!
Hopefully it’ll be on sale at some point so I can get two. 👍🏻
I'm a little hesitant on buying this one I don't use a die grinder enough to warrant spending the money

Plenty of power, just pressure makes the direct drive motor think it is bound up
When is the Milwaukee extended ratchet review coming around?

Hey tell your Milwaukee contacts to come out with an affordable hot glue gun black and decker and Royobi have them it would be a nice addition
do a video on your favourite work lights

What rolco pads you use for brake jobs
I can’t wait to get at least one of these!!
What type of mandrel is that on the wire wheel
Next on my tool list.
My dad asked if I need any tools for Xmas, this is the one!
Air hose in electric grinder? I extensively use air drills at work. Occasionally I use a cordless one, and look real stupid trying to figure out why my electric drill won’t blow shavings away like my air drills will!
Why did you buy another one if milwaukee sent you one?
So i don't have to change the adapters, just grab a different die grinder
Need to put a 6.0 in those bad boys!
I'm getting one.
I hope to be getting one for a XMass too lol

BlindBatG34 got mine for $159
Why does he need two? Or even three of those lol
because changing whats on the end is time, and time is money. after a month or two, those minutes add up to hours, and the tool pays itself off.
As what has been said changing bits takes time, and time is money

Has bam bam switched over to the dark side yet ( Milwaukee)...
Everything but the ratchets, Milwaukee is too powerful, the 14.4 3/8 and his bit driver. He has the stubby impact and 1/2 fuel one key
It does not work as a die grinder it just shuts itself off all the time what a joke
If the flat rate master doesnt recommend the tool I dont buy it!
How well does it work with bristle Style rol-loc disks? Any problems with it getting hot with use and activating the thermal cut off ?
Works just the same
