This is my favorite song in the whole play. It perfectly showcases the differences between Hamilton and Burr. Both are orphans but Hamilton comes from nothing while Burr comes from privilege. Burr plays the game the way it's suppose to be played. Carefully weighted decision. Always being sure your next step doesn't set you back further than you started. Hamilton however, has NOTHING to lose. He's constantly going head first into risky decisions. Relying heavily on his talent and passion. Taking hard stances on issues and being vocal about it. He does all of this and SKYROCKETS past Burr. This mindset eventually leads to Hamilton's downfall and death at the hands of Burr.
This is a fantastic song! Both the words and the way they're delivered made me feel empathy for the antagonist even if only for the duration of this song. Leslie Odom Jr. is a powerhouse!
Unfortunately I knew too much about history before the musical came out to sympathize with Burr, but man, if any song could have done it, this one could have.
He is the real star of this play. Diggs is my favorite, but Odom absolutely carries every scene he is in. He conveys emotion to the point where it infects you and you feel it with him.
@@ms_scribbles I read up on the stories of each of the main characters that I didn't know much about (Hamilton, Burr, the 2 Schuyler sisters, Lafayette & Laurens) because that's what I do any time a movie or show gets me enamored with a moment in history. I knew Burr was a real life bad guy, but after reading about him I was surprised they made him such a sympathetic character in the play.
Non Stop is honestly my favorite song in the entire production, I just love how the song combines most of the main character’s individual songs together at the end of it. It just blends together so well. 🦦
Man, I can't wait for you to watch the live musical. I HATE musicals but I was obsessed with Hamilton. I watched it like 5 times and It got better each time because you start to catching things you missed the first time or two or three. And I had the album on repeat, nonstop.
One of my favorite of the 47 songs in Hamilton! Gives great insight into why Aaron is seeming to “wait” for everything. The double meaning of wait as in needing to or purposefully. And the slight lyrical change from Love doesn’t discriminate to Death doesn’t discriminate to Life doesn’t discriminate represents every area of his life in ONE song! Lin’s lyrical genius shining thru.
This song is sung by Aaron Burr in the Musical. I can't wait until the Broadway touring shows start again. It was suppose to be here in December but it has been postponed. I will see it a few times when it gets here. There are a number of musicals out there that have amazing soundtracks!
Lol how did you miss him saying he's keeping her bed warm while her husband is away? 😂 I haven't watched it all the way through either yet but I love this song and Satisfied
C’mon, Billy! We KNOW you’re going to like Hamilton. The songs are good as stand alone’s. Imagine how much better they are going to be with the force multiplier of telling the story along with watching the show happen. Break down and give the people what they want!
I don't think you should do a single reaction to another Hamilton related song until you see the entire musical. It really is fantastic. As with anything, there is some historical facts they play with but damn it is a solid show and the cast absolutely kills it. And nearly every single song is great. This might be the best damn song in the entire show.
This is my favorite song in the show because it gets to the heart of Burr’s character. “The room where it happens” does to but not to the sentiment this song has. This song is his “I want song”. From a narrative standpoint, Burr is my favorite character of the show. He seems to be like any one of us. He wants to make a difference but struggles with the timing of when he can. He is always so close until his foil, Hamilton keeps sweeping in with his charm and wit. No one even tried to listen to Burr, again from a narrative standpoint. Cannot speak from a historical perspective. At the end of the show, he just wanted one thing. Hamilton’s vote. His vote= respect. He couldn’t even get that. Also the protecting of his parent’s legacy always get me. It always seems impossible. Again, he gets so close but it always slips away. This is something I and many people can relate to versus Hamilton. Hamilton is who we strive to be while Burr is who we are. I am not saying that as a bad thing. Both (minus the murder) are people who can aspire to.
The person who plays Aaron Burr is fantastic. I loved this song live when I saw It on Disney +. His voice and the emotion he puts into it are so powerful. I hope you do get to watch the play.
Honestly, not watching Leslie Odom Jr perform this leaves something to be desired. The emotion he conveys in his face, voice, and movements are all spectacular and take this song to a whole new level. So glad he won a Tony for this performance.
YESSSSS you did my FAVORITE Hamilton song! I don't think you have to have seen the play for this one to hit home, I think the feeling of the song is very relatable. But just for context his love, Theodosia, that he sings about at the beginning was married to a British officer and Aaron Burr was a member or the revolutionary army. So definitely a bit of star crossed lovers thing going on there.
That one commenter was right about having to watch or listen to the songs in order since this is a play where the storyline and dialogue is almost 100% told through the songs. It's why you can hear every line of dialogue spoken from the play by just listening to the soundtrack album. There are no breaks in between (even though the album did cut a song that was in the play). But you're also right that you can listen to this song as a standalone and interpret it just the way it is without too much extra context and get it alright. Because this is all Burr's inner thoughts were we hear what he actually thinks and feels for once and he's not interacting with any other characters, you can trust everything in this song to hold up without needing to hear it in order because everyone is hearing all of this info for the first time. So you were all good with this track
My comment was deleted for some reason. Anyway, you should do a search and do Hamilton's Tony Performance. The Tony's are like the Oscar's for Broadway. It's only like 5 minutes, but you will get to see the actors behind the voices, the set, etc... you will also like who presents it.
I can't wait for you to watch this. When you finish the songs, then see the musical, it's going to vibe for you on a whole different level.

@@terrillcovey2652 it's because he's the narrator. Like the final song says, he's the one that lived to tell the story.
this is in my top favorite songs in the show. Leslie Odom, Jr. just kills it.

Yes! Non Stop is one of my favs too. The end of It is the best!!! 🔥🔥🔥

One of those songs where the lyrics hit hardest when you can empathize with them. But they still hit really damn hard when you can’t.

If you haven't heard Cabinet Battle, you should ABSOLUTELY listen to that one!! And Cabinet Battle 2!

I’m pretty sure this is the first video of Billy’s I watched and I’m so happy I found him! I love his movie reactions!!
Watching Leslie Odom, Jr. brought me to tears many times.
You MUST watch Hamilton! It’s soooo amazing!! This is definitely in the top 3 favorite songs from it
Lol how did you miss him saying he's keeping her bed warm while her husband is away? 😂 I haven't watched it all the way through either yet but I love this song and Satisfied
I like how the song often makes you "wait for it" with those pauses
C’mon, Billy! We KNOW you’re going to like Hamilton. The songs are good as stand alone’s. Imagine how much better they are going to be with the force multiplier of telling the story along with watching the show happen.
Break down and give the people what they want!
I ALWAYS get goosebumps with this song.
Ohhhh, you have another channel! And you’re reacting to Hamilton?! I know what I’m binge watching today!
This is one of my all time favorite musicals!
LMM is so generous, he gives all the best songs to other characters
The entire first act must be watched in order to understand how brilliant this musical truly is. Can I get an amen?

it's my favorite song too🥰
My favorite song in the play, by a landslide. And I love all the songs.
This is one of my favorite songs out of the entire musical.
Wait for it is my #2 song. Leslie is amazing singing it but the instant time I saw it live in Chicago Wayne Brady played Burr and he killed it.

Love this song
Basically Burr admitting that he can't control love, life, death and Hamilton
It's a really good song always. It's just a killer showstopper in the actual context of the show
The final song HAS to be your FINALE!!!!!
I cannot wait for you to watch the actual musical on disney+
Yeah, you definitely need to hop your ass onto Disney+ and watch this thing. You will never look at musicals the same way again.
I haven't seen the musical, but I love the songs!
You should listen to Eurielle- City of the dead, it's a haunting melody.
This is my favorite Hamilton song. Will you be doing a Pateron reaction to it?
Billy you have a second channel?
At least someone knows how to say no

Hamilton
Please react to animatics of Six the Musical!
Watch the musical and record the reaction, make it only 2 part video!
Lesss gooo
I feel bad for her husband if he is a normal guy and not a bad person
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE watch the musical
The order IS important but the live action choreography isn't. The animatics are better than the live show.
This is one of my favourite songs from Hamilton
