I'm Jewish and have ancestors from Poland that died in the Holocaust. And I STILL listen to this song constantly, because it rules and cannot be denied. I just remind myself that "depiction" does not equal "endorsement."
Slayer's "Reign in Blood" made in 1986 is the most aggressive album of all time. There are faster albums and there are heavier albums, but none is as aggressive.
Truth! Only Morbid Angel comes close to matching the level of aggression and just pure evil that this album soothes in.
Epidemic of Violence by Demolition Hammer could give this album a run for its money.
@@DennisTrovato That is one underrated album! Loved it back in the day. But no, Slayer is in a league all its own. Because there are plenty of bands do "aggressive" well like Kreator, but there is only one band that pioneered this level of real raw aggression with "fuck you" levels of controversy in the material - Slayer.
If you want aggression with technical proficiency, look for early (actually sophomore) Sepultura. Beneath the Remains is my all-time favourite.
Totally agree on that.
I would have to disagree. For the 80s and 90s, yes, but now there are bands like Archspire and Inferi, Lorna Shore, etc. Faster, heavier, and more brutal and aggressive. But Slayer is very heavy, and definitely the most agressive before the 2000s, even with Cannibal Corpse
Angel of Death, the song that introduced the word abacinate to millions of metalheads.
Ah, a nice, relaxing tune. Just what I needed.
SLAYER RULES!!!!!!!!
NEED MORE!!!!!
Yes we do!!!
Tom Araya is an operatic singer first?!! I need a citation for this as in 37 years of being a Slayer fan, this is the first I've heard this
Yeah, I doubt it.
Many Metal Singers have a voice control that normally, only Opera Singers have. Also, the amount of decibels that they can pump out, without doing permanent harm to themself, is astonishing. If any one of us tried to do what Araya is doing for 5 minutes, our vocal cords would be permanently damaged.
I’m right there with you, that’s BS. He was a medical technician while forming Slayer. His influences were the Beatles not opera.
That and the bullshit with Mengele and pregnancy, but alternative facts are in since Trump. It's sad.
Maybe choir as a child. But opera, no way.
Only being 12 when this album came out it is still one of my favs. And here in January of next year I'll be turning the big 50. SLAYER IS RIGHTEOUS!!!!❤😊
This whole album is just relentless, 30 minutes of sheer balls out brutality unmatched to this day.
As is the rest of their music
8:45 - “how this brings it out of me even tho its uncomfotable”
THAT is the point on most, if not all of Slayer’s songs… to bring out the ‘uncomfotable’ things in life - the death, the horrors, the pain, etc
I'm glad you liked it! 😎🤘 Metal shines a light on the darkest parts of our world. Technically they are impossibly good, which is what really got me into them. There are two lead guitarists, Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman (RIP), and they trade sections of the solos, the other one seamlessly picking up the riff as the other solos. That the whole band stays together at this breakneck speed is just ridiculously difficult.
This whole album (less than 30 minutes long) is an absolute masterpiece and has remained in my top 5 since I heard it decades ago.
Well said!! I love this song and knowing Alanna loves it now too makes me very happy
Also..... Dave Lombardo. Perhaps the best Drummer that ever existed. The guy can outdrum 99.9 % of all drummers in the world while chucking beers.
The last part of the battle of solos simulates the train arriving to auchwitz...
I saw Slayer in 86 and 88. My GF went with me, she wanted to know what sonic violence looked like.
Slayer did not disappoint.
RIB is the greatest thrash metal album ever made.
Darkness Descends by Dark Angel is a close second.
I've been a Slayer fan for a very very long time and have been to more then 10 shows.. I've never heard Tom accused of being an opera singer! LOL! It's sort of like saying that Anette Olzon was the best lead singer of Nightwish when anyone with sense knows Floor by far eclipses the other 2.
I will say I thought Tom would be an interesting replacement for Marko though. He plays the base and he sings.. But really Marko's the only one that fits that spot properly.
I'm a newer fan of Nightwish "so is my wife". We saw them at the Brooklyn bowl in Las Vegas. Was an awesome show.
Slayer in my eyes was at its best with all of its original talent playing. It's easy to tell when Lombardo's on the drum kit and Jeff Hahnemann was not only a fantastic guitarist but wrote many of they're best songs "Angel of Death included".
I'm glad you both noticed the simple phrase "Rancid Angel of Death.. fly's free". I haven't noticed another channel bringing it up but I've thought the same for a long time.
Also on the Nazi crap that was thrown they're way. I say if you expose exactly what they did and don't hide it your not promoting it in any way shape or form. Your throwing the facts directly at everyone listening and make it impossible to ignore!
Thanks for your epic comment!
I whore my hell awaits t-shirt to church once when I was about 17 almost 18 😅.lol
Nice reaction. I got to see Slayer when in Australia at Soundwave. I was mesmerized by them and their fans.
- oh, it starts heavy 🤣 oh it’s about to get a lot more intense. I think this is the most brutal intense song ever written hands down. Not only due to the music but even more so due to lyricism/subject matter. I remember hearing this as a teenager banging my head rocking out than learning it on guitar to headbang and rock out some more. And to me this also has to best bridge/breakdown of all time. But now as I’m older I can’t really stomach it due to the lyricism. It’s just to real. Well it literally is real so hearing how horrific it is as Slayer literally details it it’s just to much. All these experiments/atrocities literally happened. Hence your guys perfect comment @ 6:27 Anyway glad you guys checked it out lol.
Best. Band. Ever.
I have to say, I've never heard Tom sing operatic. He's more of a "stuck pig" singer, lol. But it fits the music.
That might of just been a rumour I heard then
Still the best metal track,no doubt! Thanx !
That was fun.... i wish more people would do reactions to anything off haunting the chapel EP/album... it's sooo good
They are like a symphony of genius
Tom's scream at the beginning defining how we all feel treading on a rogue piece of Lego!!!🤣
got this album in 86 when it came out at 9 yrs old..lol. was already into megadeth and old metallica. May be whats wrong with me now...warped my little mind...lol
So im going to rock festival next week and am camping on site. I guarantee that I will hear "FUCKING SLAYER" in the campground at lest 20 times a day. 4 years after they played their last show.
I was 15 and saw Slayer in a small club with this tour back in '87 ahhhh what a time to be a teenager, i got to see slayer a total of 26 times. FUCKIN SLAAAAYYUUYEERRRRRR 🤘🤘
🤘🏼🔥SLAAAYER🔥🤘🏼
Can you imagine listening to this when it was released in the 80s? Game changing classic. I'm still listening to it now :)
SLAYER is my ALLTIME Favorite Metal Band since 1989. South of Heaven and Judas Priest - Painkiller were my first two metal LPs. And I'm still Fan of these Bands 🤘🤘🤘
Slayer kicks Ass!!!!
Nice job Mrs. All Slayer must be heard, enjoyed and consumed into our hearts. It’s Slayer. Toms watching you 🤟🏻
that transition still gets me, bro! one of the top break downs ever!!!!!
Slayer's REIGN IN BLOOD, AKA, The thrash metal bible....If you took the music out, You would literally have a lesson in history about concentration camps and the horrors of WWII
That transition still gets me too , even after 25 years
I used to play Metal at work and one day my manager wanted me to play this song for a woman who had never heard of Slayer before.
After asking him, "What did she ever do to you?"
I blasted Angel of Death at full volume.
You can't imagine the look of terror on this poor girl's face. She stayed for the whole song, so I gotta give her props. When the song was over she didn't say a word. She just walked slowly away with a face that said, "I have seen the dead walking."
Song- / Video- Dead Skin Mask
I see Reign in Blood tour in Milano, May 1987. The most devastating event in my life, absolutely stunning! When starting Necrophobic, total delirium broke out!! ❤❤
aguante slayer!!!! 🇨🇱
Aguante 🤘🇨🇱
Hi, thanks for reacting to slayer. Nice fuckin shirt! 🤟 my age is 48, I first seen Slayer in Albuquerque, NM 09/09/1985. Seen them all in the year 1985. The best of the four! ❤ you wouldn't believe me if I told you that in my will, i want my casket covered with the four hard metal bands logos. I want nothing but heavy metalplaying through this process and playing through the end of my time. Love you guys! 🤟🤟🤟🤟
SLAYER!!!!!!!!!👍🤘🤘
Slayer created controversy because they wrote their songs mostly from the pov of the person committing the evil. Kinda like a horror movie. Dead skin mask, unit 731, and the supremist are all examples of it. And they often changed the pov in the lyrics between the perpetrator and the victim
Best. Metal. Song. Ever
Fascinating to hear about doctors now using His results.
Best review of this song ever. I thinking peoples review.
You guys Should do Dead Skin Mask about Ed Gein the Butcher of Plainfield Wisconsin!
Fun thing on the cover of the album you can see king Cĥarles of gbr
silent scream from south of heaven grap your tissues
Gettin serious vibes from dude. He's having way too much fun.
I am crazy yes
I was drunk. I am too. Cheers!
Ahhh good ol operation paper clip. Right NASA???
This album is so evil and heavy, there is nothing like it before or after. People can try... hell even Slayer tried but I guess Satan was in the room when this album was created. There is something darkly mystical and magical about this album... You know all the pieces fit (Piece by Piece lol) even though it is so insane and unhinged. Altar of Sacrifice. Postmortem. Holy shit Raining Blood... The entire album is a masterpiece. I just don't know if the members of the band were entirely in control of themselves making this album... Feels inspired by Satan to me.
When this album came out I actually dreamt about buying it before I did. It blew my mind when I listened to it... Never heard anything like it before. It is an incredible achievement of Evil. It hits you in the primal and makes you into a beast, if you let it. Jesus Saves! But not with this album...
Funny you say that, because I felt that The Devine Intervention album had serial killers in that room. Crazy.
Reaction slayer song "213"😱
As a metalhead and country boy from the south and a history nerd and a fan of the show Dexter I wish they wrote a song for the show Dexter
lol. I hav ebeen listening to SLAYER since 1986. I have seen them live over 30 times. I have NEVER heard anyone say that Tom is an operatic singer. Are you thinking of Mike Patton? Because of Mike's vocal range?
I think I just had to much cronic that day lol
@@enterthecronic I appreciate your honesty. And it takes a big man to admit they are wrong; especially these days. That type of candor will help you grow your channel. I wish you all the best of luck!
Hell awaits
Altar of Sacrifice reaction please!
The sad part of the story Is that Mengele never paid for his crimes and probably died in his bed
"rancid angel of death, flying free"
These two still have to do the song Raining blood from Slayer
Here you go: It's RAINING BLOOD as we are SOUTH OF HEAVEN | REACTION/REVIEW
ruclips.net/video/zoAweOI3YBk/видео.html
@@enterthecronic South of Heaven you Too Rock keep Metal Alive.
None of the Big 4 debut albums were weak. Definitely a history lesson in a song
This song describes the entire horror of Auschwitz with its brutal heaviness. 😢
This album art always made me think of "Guernica" (Pablo Picasso). I kinda hope they inspired in it.
Dude, is that nightwish's greatest show on Earth as your intro music
Yes it is!
He also had a fascination with twins and then after the war, a Jewish group of scientists continued the twin reach all the way up to late 80's, when some of there research subjects tried to get inside into what was done to them, the records got the classified sealed. They were more interested in nurture vs genetics, several of research subjects killed themselves and most didn't know they were twins or triplets.
Friendly suggestion. When introducing new music to your girl, I recommend studio versions w/lyrics. I can see she's really trying to understand what is being sung by squeezing her headphones against her ears.
It’s a Patreon request and the patron gets to choose the video link. If you would like to become a member, you could suggest a song in studio version with lyrics :) thank you for your support!
Looks like it was the studio version, not sure why there were no lyrics.
I will never understand why Anthrax was put into the big 4 category. Many years later, no one talks about them. Their songs were just not very memorable, sadly. Charlie Benante is one of the GOATs though!
salut . i am french and the word " fiancé " is funny to me
Slayer described it in as few word to get the point across. It worked.
Thank you guys. I've seen quite a few reactions to this song, but no one seems to really get into the history that Slayer is trying to make us remember. We cannot forget the horrors that Josef Mengele inflicted on countless innocent people. How anyone could be capable of what he did is completely beyond me. Anyway, thanks again.
1983, my first concert, Charlie Daniels. 20 years later, 2003, my last concert..... Slayer - and at the exact same venue! Almost didn't go, my friends convinced me, glad I did, they even bought my ticket! My 2 favorite songs, this one, and chemical warfare, they saved for last. Perfect!!
joseph mengele
Thank you!
Mengele on the thumbnail is 👌
Just my opinion... She said near the end... "We don't want to remember". Correction... We should never forget!!! So.. history will never be repeated!
1:29
I've always loved that scream, cause its good representation, of what you'd hear in a daily basis, in Auschwitz
a nightwish poster and this song. lets see. edit: i saw that slayer tshirt so it's not the first contact with them i think
Sickening ways*
Bless you guys!
Perhaps THE Slayer song. It represents everything they were about. RIB's greatness is in how memorable and good every riff sound, and how all the songs are arraigned. And Dave Lombardo :) But he was the gem of Slayer, in their good and bad days.
Mengele was one of the vilest figures of The Holocaust. He was devoted to an euphoric satisfaction from acts of savagery of the most bestial nature, in never-ending quantity. Although he was not the exception, but the norm. You will find his levels of sadism in countless of others like him, in infernal and eternal hatred. Their hatred of the Jews was and forever will be a passion for them. It's an addiction of global proportion, and it crosses all boundaries of time. It will morph and always rise again. Only that the likes of Mengele will never smile at the ramp and choose twins for his experiments. Nor would a future Otto Moll burn babies alive in his fire ditches.
The wretch was almost caught by the Mossad. But died a not so peaceful death, even if in hiding.
\m/ SLAYER !!!! \m/
Great reaction video dudes. After Slayer's album Reign In Blood came out, all of we-us Metal-ers referred to this song, Angel of Death, as the 'Heavy Metal Anthem'..
And what I find both Hilarious AND Incomprehensible at the same time is how SO many people (ESPECIALLY the catholic church), tried to 'claim' at that time (out of PURE IGNORANCE I'd like to point out) that this song glorified the ATROCITIES committed in internment camps during WW2, when in fact the song actually CONDEMNS those actions. From what I remember from an interview article I read at the time, the song is actually like a narrative told from the perspective of someone actually in one of those internment camps and what their fellow detainees had to endure.
And ANOTHER thing that I'd like to point out is that the hitler creature AND it's subordinates were HYPOCRITICS. If, and I stress IF, that hitler thing and it's subordinates actually TRULY believed that "Aryan Superiority" BULLSHIT that was spewing out of the asshole that hitler 'CLAIMED' was his mouth than he would have been in one of those nazi camps also.
Just remember 2 things:
1 - hitler was NOT blonde-haired and blue-eyed, but rather it was dark-haired and brown-eyed (and NOT even German for that matter);
2 - hitler was 1/4 Jewish (on its Grandmother's side if I remember correctly).
So essentially, that hitler creature was EXACTLY what it tried to 'claim' was "inferior".
NO race or ethnicity or gender or religion is superior to ANY others. ALL are equal, at least in my opinion anyway.
But regardless, again great reaction video dudes.
Lombardo - Araya
Hanneman - King
rip to jeff
Tytuł to "Rower na prąd" z wzmaka czuć swąd
You said horro movies are more intense, when they are based on real happenings. Well, watch "Men behind the sun" then. It´s about the special unit 731 of the japanese army, based in China during WW2. They did the same experiments like Mengele did in Auschwitz - it´s pretty hard to watch but still a well made movie
You guys should react to Raining Blood by Slayer.
For those that are subscribed.... request sleep... dragonaut
🤘🤘
Listen to The Antichrist too! :)
thank you for my time
If you made a list of something like "The 100 most metal moments" this one song would have three: The scream, the epic riff in the middle, and the crazy speed up ending
EDIT: I also think this kind of music is the only kind of music that can address the holocaust; I always imagine the trains going in and out of Auschwitz when I listen to it :(
Fucking slayyyerrrrr
I was thinking at first: She had better not have heard this because that guy's wearing a Slayer shirt, which would kinda muck it up. But ok. 👍
I've seen a "metal reaction" video with a guy wearing a Slaughter (Canada) shirt. Come on.
Luckily, Alanna doesn't know many classic metal songs
Show her Tom's headbanging. 🤣🤟
Try silent scream too song (slayer)
This album is definitely NOT underrated! Reign is recognised as the best thrash album of all time! 😎
Dr. Mengele did not teach us about pregnancy. 😂
It did not go over well with my mom 😅.lol
Where on earth did you find Tom was an operatic singer?? ?????
I think that was more a tale my friend told me when I first got into Slayer
@@enterthecronic haha ok! Best it remains then in the mighty realm of a tale of corpse! Cheers for clarifying mate!😉😁
I watch a lot of reaction videos. Halfway way through this one, I can't finish this one. Just can't take these two seriously.
Awesome man
It is extremely questionable, bordering on human myth that modern science has learned anything vital from Mengele's experiments that we wouldn't have learned in other ways.
12 years not a slave.
Huh?
Tom Araya was never an operatic singer. You can't just make it up as you go along. His name might sound a bit like aria, but that's about as close as it gets. 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
Yeah true I'm a Die Hard Slayer fan and never heard that about tom...Great song though.
No band has ever been able to duplicate the ALMIGHTY SLAYERS aggression on this album. GREATEST THRASH ALBUM AND BAND OF ALL TIME!!! FUCKING SLAYEEERR!!!!
Dr Josef Mengele aka Angel Of Death.
If you dont marry her, I will ;)
Should react to the American who inspired the nazis. Margaret Sanger
