I love your Teach and Playthrough videos. You both do a phenomenal job of explaining not only how to play the game, but why you're doing what you're doing each turn, strategically. This game has been on my wishlist for a while now, but this video is pushing it to the top!
I don’t think this game will ever leave my collection, it’s a favorite for sure. It’s one of those rare games that you can teach to anyone in 5 minutes, but it’s also super fun to play even as an experienced gamer. Plus the production is stellar. You might even learn something along the way.
We somehow missed this title when it was on Kickstarter. Didn’t know too much about this title before we prepped to cover it. Great to see so many people also enjoy it in the comments! ☺️
Thank you! Enjoyed this immensely. So much easier for some to learn by watching a game rather than reading instructions that are difficult to understand.
This is, by far, the most relaxed, clear explanation and playthrough I've ever seen. I like the way you explain your thinking with each move. Signed up as a subscriber and I'm searching your past playthroughs for other new games! Well done.
If Monique took King Tut's tomb card (that Naveen took) as her last card, she would have scored 16 points (-3 for starting a new single trek), instead she took an ancestor that got her 8 points (5 for increasing her Trek and 3 for covering a spot).
@@zuhdizaaimuddin7058 What op suggest is to start a new trek while not intuitive cause you take -3 for having only one card in a trek. it would have bring her 16 points from bonuses on her expedition card. you can always start a new trek.
We got in on the Kickstarter and thoroughly enjoy Trekking Through History. I'm glad to have a good teaching video to send to friends before game night. Thank you!
44:09 Monique, you should have grabbed tuts tome as your last play. It would have netted two points (13 on your itinerary and -3 on the trek length for a total net 10, vs 3 on the itinerary and 5 on the trek length for a net 8 gain).
Its actually a total of 5 points. Taking the tomb would give 16 on the itinerary (3 for blue, 3 for green and 10 for the row with the wild) Not to mention it would block Naveen from getting a point as well (He would have to go for 1909 Sigmund Freud instead which would not let him get that extra point from the blue token)
Loved the gameplay and enthusiasm as always, great job! Hadn't heard of this game but it looks so cool especially if you love history. I only wished there was a spanish translated version so my non-english speaking friends could read the backstories on the cards.
This game is definitely going on my list! I think this is one my grandson would play with me. This is Beverly, new subscriber, newer to boardgames and mostly solo player (recently wrote you about Petrichor). Love your videos!
@@BeforeYouPlay Weeelllll, don't want to date myself so suffice it to say that his favorite subject in school--history! We both love history. And Marvel. I've watched your Marvel Dice Throne playthroughs and I recently got all the Marvel DT. We plan to play later today and I'm going to tell him about Trekking Through History. Thank you to both of you!
Ohh I love this game! It's nice that you're playing this gateway/family game. I heard that Underdog Game is planning a new edition of Trekking The World based on the success of this game.
Wonder why multiple youtubers are suddenly covering this game as it's been out since last year. It's a fun little game though, good for new to the hobby players.
Great info as usual. The best instructional video out there. Just a question on the time warp card. Can you mitigate the time on the time warp card by use of crystals?
What a coincidence. I just played this solo yesterday (after having played it with my sister and her boyfriend). It's a very thinky game. But I think after five plays you know how many treks you should make to get the most points. I'm also not very sure if the iteneraries are well balanced. They all have different points and crystals on them. Maybe the difference isn't so big. I like all the colors though and the game itself :) It reminded me a bit of patchwork. I know that might sound weird, but instead of picking a tile, you choose a card now. The card has some benefits/costs here too and just like in Patchwork you need to see if the card/tile fits. And you have to move your marker on the clock.
Naveen said the same thing about patchwork after I first taught it to him. We played the game 3 times and definitely saw the score gaps getting closer with each play.
They recommend picking the itineraries after you've played a couple of games. A simple draft would balance it enough for this type of game (at least multiplayer, haven't tried solo) .

Thank you so much for the kind words! 😊

Thanks for watching! So glad we could help!

She cant. She already in 1925

Such a great game! Our family loves this one!
1 point! I was doing the math in my head and I couldn't believe how close it was. Great game both of you :)

I really enjoyed this play through.. Really enjoyed how excited you were about the various events that came up.
Yeah! We are both really fascinated by history 🤔.

Right, I forgot to account for the blue you get with tut
Great video as always! This one is rising on my wishlist
Backed this one during the crowd funding campaign. A family favorite. Definitely recommend.
So happy to hear that!!

Thanks for the play through. We also own Trekking the National Parks and Trekking the World and enjoy those as well.
Thank you! Haven’t tried those ones yet, would like to now!
Fun game thanks for showing it off!

That’s great to hear, hopefully we will get to try it out in the future!
Awesome teaching video!
Flying with the Wright Brothers might be horrifying, but First in Flight is an AWESOME board game.
Should be Richard Pearse from New Zealand, but hey, I'm biased ;)
This is so helpful! Thank you
Love this game! 🙂👍

This one slipped through the cracks for us when it was on Kickstarter. Happy that the publisher reached out to cover it ☺️.
We enjoy this game!
You really should check out the movie Hachi: A Dog's Tale since you seemed to like the Hachi (Hachiko) card, it's a great movie. xD

Hey good morning 👋 ☕
Good Morning from 🇯🇵!
@@BeforeYouPlay oh wow! Went there for a week for our honeymoon in 2017 (Kyoto, Kinosaki, Osaka)! Best freakin place in the world! 🇯🇵 ENJOY!
Great teach!
Thanks Ben!!
Did Naveen score the 7 points from his itinerary after getting the green token? I think he only scored the ten and forgot the seven.
He missed it in the moment but catches it shortly after 🙃
Have you played this enough times to know if the close scores you both achieved in this game are common?
We played it 3 times, each time we played the scoring gap got closer and closer.
very good video. will there be a gameplay video of shogun no katana?
Thank you! We haven’t heard of that title, is it newer?
