Knew him personally, sad he passed away but he was one of those people that you could never fix. Sad but kind of knew where his journey would lead him.
his life, at least according to the film Hurt was like watching a train wreck. Very sad but I understand why they wouldn't want him as an officer of the order of Canada. He uses a lot of excuses for his anger and behaviour. However,he did at one time raise money for Cancer research in a heroic way and then it was all downhill. I hope he is now at peace.
Can’t find this anywhere. Watched Hope. It was good. I lived though a lot of similar things, nothing as good as his run, but a lot of the rest and I would like to see the movie but no luck. I searched everywhere and for such an acclaimed doc, no one is showing it or even selling it. Oh well.
We musn't judge....Steve's is a very sad story of someone who did something absolutely amazing....Can you imagine following in the foot steps of the immoral Terry Fox? ....The greatest Canadian ever.....
I just wish someone would ask me what it was like being married to Steve. I don't think the film really doesn't show the full Steve. I know Steve better than anyone will and I fought after he cheated to remain his friend. We still talk to this day and he still talks a lot about what is always going on for him. But no one bothered to ask me what happened to our marriage and all the stuff I know about him.

Steve used to be my roommate and told me the truth about the run from his own mouth.
I got thr chance to meet him up in Powel River 2016. I liked him.
did he actually run it all? I always doubted he actually did.

i just cant believe that 30yrs of assault, fraud, theft, drugs and other charges and he just skated? spent a whole 1 month in jail total in 30 yrs???
He passed away Friday , February 18/22 of reported seizure.
