Being a student can be difficult, the industry standard softwares we're expected to use are generally very expensive (even with discounts). In this video I'm going to show you how to get Sketchup Pro 2023 for free!

100% I have very recently started working in industry! Will do doing alot more content surrounding design
+ construction in practice. Just sorting data privacy etc with the director.
Do you use sketchup much in industry? I like using sketchup because of its simple user interface but I always thought that in an actual job, a detailed cad software like revit is more commonly used? What’s your experiences like
@@mb.arch19 Both can be used, but Revit has more practical usage across a wider number of practices and it's a preferred skill to have. Try to have knowledge in both, with a stronger leaning in one direction over the other which in this case would be Revit since most firms use it more than Sketchup and your chances of getting hired are higher if you have skill in Revit.
You'll be told to experiment with many softwares, like Sketchup/Rhino/Blender/Maya/3DS Max, but the truth is that Revit is the one software that you want to make sure you're good/knowledgeable about since it's the most likely software that a firm is likely to use. I was fortunate to have knowledge prior to graduating, but if I didn't then it would've been harder for me in practice since I would need to learn many things from scratch on the job.
Thanks mate, I think revit has a free trial so I’ll do that, get myself more familiar with it. I’m starting uni this September so I’ve got quite some time to learn all the different softwares
@@mb.arch19 my job is literally quoting jobs from architects so i see alot of designs, i would say its 60% revit 40% sketchup. I would say revit is better for industry as its literally designed for architects and is so powerful, but for uni I actually think Sketchup is better as its less time consuming and much easier to manipulate.

Hello, I have a question, when my trial period expires and I have to use another temporary account, my files will also be lost, right? How can I share my files from the expired account with those from my new account so as not to lose them.
Files wont be lost, they will stay on my device storage wherever you save them

I don't believe its required to fill out, if it is, use a temp Phone number you can find a website on google easily
What the fuck is the hack? You just used the trial
Because you use a temp email, you can just delete it and reinstall straight after. It's not great but got me through my Bachelors until I could pay for it.
This trick does not work anymore. They can easily detect users with unknown emails and they released a patch for it.

@@cattudoggu I've just had someone say it worked! Have you deleted all the program files named McNeel, and deleted the rhino keys in your registry? There an explanation how too in the pinned comment

Should be as simple as uninstalling the program and the program files and redoing the process with a new email and trimble account

hello sir I was wondering if you could inform me. I have a MacBook Pro with macOS Catalina software. I went on to the sketchup website and downloaded the viewer software. Its icon is in my application page after moving the download to the file icon. I double click on the sketchup icon and the icon now appears at the bottom of my screen but the software never opens up?
Interesting, I have the same mac software so i know its compatible, my only suggestion i guess is try uninstall and reinstall?
I think you can open new file from the top bar of the laptop, sometimes some app in Mac works like that, and after that it will run as usual

hi - thank you for sharing - when you delete the application after the free trial is over --- QUESTION - Do you lose all your work? Can you save what you created in Sketchup, and then use your created work under a "different" email account?

i see there are lot of tools appearing in the user interface for other people
but when i install sketchup i only see less tools ?
Yes skechup pro and studio are the downloadable programs and sketchup itself is an online only version.
Sometimes maybe buttons are hidden by default and you have to go into the gives or window tab to display them, or they have downloaded ad ons for sketchup

Yes, Once you have your sketchup account you can download the VRay trial (1 Month) and log in with trimble to download
so are trying to say that keep activating an new email and then after a while deactivate it and create a new one?! lol

Im not sure sketchup is available on android, there is a free web version you can use but it is a little basic

In the free trial we cannot download the work? is that right or there is some hack for that as well?

You can get vray, just login with your trimble account you make (i recommend doing it same time as install)
now its only 7 day trial versions....

Yes, but because we you temp details you can just do it again after it runs out!

what about unfinished projects from one email account in sketchup . can they be sent to the other account created?
Yeah but you can just save them in your documents and open them like normal once you have the new one

This doesn't work, SketchUp figured it out and made changes. if you try you will get this message; "This email domain is not allowed. Please use a different email".
I have done it recently, are you able to try a few other emails to see if it works? If not guess we may have to revert back to using a spam email
