    Richard forgot to mention that Cronus was a Titan, the father of Zeus and Persephone is only "Queen of the Underworld" for half the year, which is why we have seasons.

    How do they do these surveys exactly????? Do they show people a list and ask them to pick or do they actually ask people to come up with an answer?
    I only ask because the Greek/Roman dieties one was strange to me. Way too easy, and I don't understand how people would NOT get them correct and not all get them if shown a list.
    If asked to come up with it, i could then see those being lower points, since it is a bit harder to list them off.
    Idk.

      The hundred people just list what they can come up with in the time and the question writers then form it into the questions.

    I was right about the Spice Girls. Geri Halliwell gets overlooked the most and Victoria and Emma are the most well known. Back in 1999 when I was in kindergarten, my friends often wanted to play Spice Girls and everyone always grabbed Posh and Baby from the start. No one chose either of the Mels or Geri.

    • @gnu_andrew
      @gnu_andrew Месяц назад

      Opposite for me. I always found Emma & Victoria incredibly dull. They also had the weakest solo careers.

    • @strawberrysoulforever8336
      @strawberrysoulforever8336 Месяц назад +1

      @@gnu_andrew I'm actually a major Emma stan, but Mel B is my favourite Spice. She seems really funny and still pretty active. I remember on the Greatest Hits album from the late 2000s, she made jokes on each note to the other four. I don't remember all of them, except that she wrote to Victoria "You're an amazing woman and I know you secretly fancy me haha".

    • @gnu_andrew
      @gnu_andrew Месяц назад

      @@strawberrysoulforever8336 is that in the liner notes for that album? I think it's a shame Mel B's solo career didn't go further. She was out of the gates first, but I think the marriages messed things up for her.
      Her & Geri struck me as the most interesting from the start, and then it became clear during their solo careers that Mel C was the strongest musician. I've never really had an issue with Emma. It's just that she never excited me in the same way as the other three. Victoria always struck me as the one who wasn't really meant to be a pop star and I guess that's now backed up by her being the one who doesn't want to be involved in reunions. She does have a good sense of humour though. I was watching her & David being interviewed by Ali G the other day and she goes along with it quite well.
      Do you know the track "Spice Invaders"? It's basically just a bunch of nonsense that was one of their B sides, but it really shows off their personalities and I don't think I've ever heard anything like that from any other artist. I don't think people who weren't around at the time really get that the Spice Girls were as much (if not more) about the personalities as the music.

    • @strawberrysoulforever8336
      @strawberrysoulforever8336 Месяц назад +1

      @gnu_andrew No. Sadly I wasn't a fan in their heyday as I was too little to be looking for pop and my parents only listened to the CDs they liked, so I grew up with Cat Stevens, Carly Simon and David Bowie, with the occasional tracks from Jesus Christ Superstar and Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat. I only discovered them when Greatest Hits came out and their only other album that got sold was Spice, which had the first five Greatest Hits songs (but I did really like Love Thing and Last Time Lover). I'm not a fan of Mel C's voice. Nothing wrong with it, but it's just I generally like sweet voices. That's why I like Emma's voice - she has the sweetest voice of the five, even though Victoria has a very pure singing voice too. I haven't heard many of the songs on the other albums, so no Spice Invaders.
      I actually first discovered Geri in her solo cover of It's Raining Men. Now, though, I prefer the Weather Girls version.

    • @gnu_andrew
      @gnu_andrew Месяц назад

      @@strawberrysoulforever8336 ah right, I'm at the other end of their fan base, being already a teen in the late 90s when there were at their peak. Funnily enough though, it seems we both grew up with early 70s music. My mum & I used to watch a lot of Top of the Pops re-runs with Bowie and the like when I was a kid.
      I agree Mel C's voice can be a bit of an acquired taste, though probably the strongest of the five. She's also probably the one who experimented musically the most, having done rock songs, dance songs and musical theatre, like her duet with Emma.
      The Spice Invaders track is actually a "B side", I think to "Spice Up Your Life", so it's pretty obscure. I don't know if it made its way onto streaming services with the rest.
      Did you know Geri's version of "It's Raining Men" first or the original? I think it was Geri first for me, and then the Weather Girls version became my preferred one like you. There are some good remixes of the Geri version though, particularly the Almighty one. It's also kind of a little tainted now that I know she was unwell at the time.

      The names Cronus and Kronos are often used interchangeably, but they refer to different figures depending on the context. Here’s the distinction:
      1. Cronus (Κρόνος):
      • A figure from Greek mythology, one of the Titans.
      • The son of Uranus (Sky) and Gaia (Earth).
      • Known for overthrowing his father Uranus and later being overthrown by his son Zeus.
      • Associated with time (and as they did in the show:)AND SOMETIMES HARVEST(hence depicted with a sickle or scythe).
      • His myth is symbolic of the cyclical nature of time and the inevitability of succession.
      2. Kronos:
      • Another way of writing Cronus, especially in transliterations from Greek.
      • However, sometimes it is used to refer to Chronos (Χρόνος), the personification of time in Greek thought.
      • Chronos is often conflated with Cronus in later traditions but is distinct-Chronos represents abstract time, not a mythological figure.
      One thing that did get wrong was that even if he is sometimes associated with harvest he is a titan and not a God .
