I'm American and those food items questions were a mess. We use the terms jelly, jam and preserves which we do spread on bread and toast.Jell-O is a brand name for a gelatin which is a jiggly dessert. We dont call fries chips unless we are ordering fish and chips which we associate with Britain. We do have coriander seeds but cilantro is the plant of coriander. We do use both terms icing and frosting.

Ashley and Lee showed some real chops here. I was surprised New Hampshire scored 5 points as an American. I mean in the sense that I'm surprised it wasn't dead last. New Hampshire DOES have an Atlantic coastline, it's true, but it's the smallest of all qualifying states at a mere 13 miles of coast - about 21 kilometers. Enough to count, right?

These were some ideal categories for me - football, followed by very recent history, followed by music. I’m baffled a bit by the Mercury nominees. I can’t believe the Spice Girls were nominated for this prestigious award, which nowadays showcases really great albums across all kinds of genres. I’m surprised U2 were nominated, as I thought it was for U.K. albums only. I got all five answers correct here and was fairly confident that the Zutons would be pointless. Foo Fighters is a horrific answer, which is wrong for any number of simple reasons: They’re American; they don’t have 5 members; they don’t have any female members; Dave Grohl is nowhere to be seen in that picture; the picture is of the Zutons. A really bizarre and horrific answer. It’s difficult to understand how a team of two people were unable to spot any of these reasons to not give the answer ‘Foo Fighters’.

They should've asked David how he was spelling his word in the first round. He said what sounded like "crap" and Xander just laughed & assumed he was mispronouncing crepe, which scored 10. He needed a pointless answer, and crape was pointless. Between the two words, which one is more likely to be mispronounced as crap? Maybe he didn't say anything at the time because Xander's response made him feel like crape wasn't a real word (David did say he was taking a punt), so Xander was just being nice by pretending he mispronounced crepe. I can't imagine what was going through his head when he saw crape come up on the screen as pointless, and no one acknowledged the fact that this might've been what he meant.

Phil and Ian have very distinctive faces, so much so that I recognise them when I would have seen the original broadcast. Not done that for any other pair on the youtubes since watching them.
