The booklet skim really made it for me 😎 this is how we roll and if you not into batter gear you basically ain't done 20-30 years in the game then you they will know
I've got several hs's sat in the shed and I never use then. I always use the hl's even on small dome shrubs just use the shorter shaft k version. I like the balance and the ability to angle the off of the hedge. I pretty much never run my hl heads in the straight position thinking about it! I've spent alot this week myself van tyres, trailer tyres, trail floor £1k gone🙉 Hope the new little toy holds up well👍
Nice machine Nathan, i always found it so nice on buxus, i generally run a ap200, just taking advantage of the low weight, 8 hours of solid trimming, it makes a big difference, happy trimming mate 👍
Good Machine but a big problem that apparently stihl know about us the guard at the end has a decent gap after the last cutting tooth and can be annoying sweeping over a hedge as it get bits caught in that gap that it can’t cut so snags, why stihl didn’t realise this in ‘their hours of testing’ is beyond me, we also have the one down from this the older version if you like and that doesn’t have this issue
Hi Mate. Yeah they are good, I prefer to use the AP200 in it though! makes it more lighter for longer use. The only thing that bugs me, is when using rotation handle! You really have to grip the safety handle to keep it engaged. Other than that, it’s a good tool. 👍🏻👌🏻
Reguarding the length of time the battery kit lasts, the Stihl kit does come with a 2 year warrenty. I had most of my HLA66 rebuilt under warrenty a few months ago at 18 months old. Bit of a faff but I bought another one as a spare at the same time. I use ap200 battery's in the hedge trimmers as I find them lighter and still last long enough in the cutters. Whilst the Stihl petrol kombi hedgecutter makes the occasional outing these days. I haven't used a petrol short reach hedge cutter for several years now.
I always reach for battery now before petrol if the job allows, I always thought if the machine was wear and tear rather than faulty it wouldn't be a warranty thing but nice one👌
Hi Nathan nice I got one last year after getting fed up with petrol Heage cutters that started at home but not on the job up a ladder 😒 works well for what I need Thanks again
Guy I work for has had loads of battery gear husky .Only just got his top handle saw back .They don't like heavy rain .🙄.Had lots of long arm hedge cutters with electric probs .I have a Makita 36 v top handle saw it's good so far .But I love the power of husky t540xp 👍👍😃
I love the enthusiasm for battery stuff. I find these hedge trimmers jam on stiff petrol ones just don't notice. Still like em but hey we all know the pros and cons at this stage I suppose. Best of luck with the new gear.
I call them a session hedge cutter, if you doing general tidying new growth in shrubs and light hedges great, so we take battery ones in our maintenance round for the serious hedges these don’t cut it so back to petrol, but I do like the size and weight for everyday light trimming on the maintenance round, guard tip snagging annoys me though
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd pretty the tip unbolts off, they are handy for obviously stop you hitting the floor and jolting the machine but see how you get as hedges have more growth that gap and the fact it can’t cut the bits that get in there but only snag the machine may annoy you
I've used it today, so nice to use. May get some ap200 batteries as advised to reduce the weight too. How you getting on with the 130? Nearly went for one but wanted a break from the backpack. Cheers 👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd The 130 R is a great bit of kit, light and give a really good cut for the work I do, I use it with the Stihl AP battery carrying system. Basically a small rucksack, with the battery holster inside the rucksack. I use either the AP 300s or 300, that's plenty for the hedge trimming I do. But cable can get in the way sometimes. The rucksack with one battery is light enough for longer work times. Be safe out there. Cheers Paul
I have had one for about a year but use my Kombi battery as a "go to". This one is sharp and bla bla bla but what I don't like is the single speed. Dunno why. Just don't. But I use it and it's fine. Like a good looking sister, you know she's got stuff but... she's your sister!😮
Mines back in the shop as its rattling bad also vibrating after very little work, its alongside my HLA 86 which is back in for the 5th time in a year, ive invested about a £1000 in batteries so we can cut all day, be ok if the machines could last all day 😡
That doesn't sound good, hope you get it sorted. I haven't had too many problems with the hla66 so we'll see how this goes. Thanks for watching and good luck 🤞
How are you getting on with this trimmer? I've seen a few comments on other videos saying about stuff not getting cut and catching due to the tip protector?
It a pleasure to use, haven't used that much as keeping for smaller cuts. No probs yet with top catching. Will update with any issues tho if they happen. 👍
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd appreciate the reply, looks a nice machine... Thinking of getting it or the HLA 66 and taking advantage of the free battery offer..
I saw a comment on another video from Stihl GB and I didn't realise this machine had a little REdesign in 2024, they removed the safety thumb switch and fixed the tip protector issue.
Wee update on the ego gear ive got on loan.... day one first time using...battery packed in..... could not write it....to be fair its my guys demo equipment and has been well used. Does not help winning me over to the dark side. On another note, there a company up my way claiming to be 100% electic... very noble and expensive. threw me when i passed a job they do to see their guys using stihl petrol equipment 😂😂
I've not heard great things about ego, the Stihl batteries have given me no trouble unless you try and cold charge them. You'd be surprised at what a companies claim verses what they do🤔 look at me, I say I'm busy and know a few things about gardening when in reality I'm sat in the house every day in my pants looking out at the rain wondering what's going on 🤣
Unfortunately I really cant recommend the HSA100 to anyone. The blades are made of chocolate. They burred up after 5 minutes on pinky-fingered size branches to the point of being unusable. Terrible quality for a 'professional' grade piece of equipment. In the process of getting a refund.
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd Same mostly used on trimming but had to test it's limits haha but found them a little too quick. My old ego battery stuff churned through anything but all the battery's failed in 2 years. its crazy after all that i still prefer battery
