Here's the problem with Skill Based Matchmaking. Its designed for eSports modes, League Play, and MLG gamemodes. It doesn't belong in a public lobby. If I wanted to play a team that was full of Gammalabs and Mountain Dew, I would play those eSports modes. It has no place in pubs, because pubs are for the casual gamer. The guy that might want to use melee only or just use LMGs without dying from laggy connections, bad spawns, and tryhards all the time.
What Advanced Warfare Did Wrong (My Top 5) Add OTT boost jumping/movements; yes it's fun but completely destroys flow. Weapon Balance; The BAL and ASM1 still primarily dominate. Rubbish Killstreaks; they're on par with Ghosts. Exo Abilities; they're pretty much pointless, I've never needed to run them. But most of all they spent all their time making Advanced Supply Drops items instead of fixing the actual game, which is honestly why I hate it.
I liked Exo abilities, especially in esports. the trophy was good in hardpoint and uplink, the mute device was good in search and the overclock was good in all game modes
They had to introduce paid supply drops the game didn't make enough money because it was plain bad. Instead they suckered children into gambling with their parents credit cards on supply drops to make up their losses.
Orbrun I thought that the idea of supply drops was a good concept, even if it went in the wrong direction. But as soon as there were things exclusive to ASDs I lost all hope
idk if I agree about CoD being about kill streaks. I don't care about getting kill streaks, and the franchise existed before kill streaks did. I don't hate them, but I don't pay any mind to them. Also, MW3 had the Specialist Strike Package, which I used almost exclusively because I much rather spend points buffing myself up than calling in air support or whatever. Everything else in this video is pretty spot on, though.
Idk how I feel about kill streaks. UAVs are OK Cuavs are the stupidest streak ever added and I usually run mid streaks. But a AC130 can turn around a game
Personally I look for killstreaks when it comes to Call of Duty games. I gain so much satisfaction when I call in this monstrous gunship or even a cheap missile strike. It's like a getting a new toy but it's an large aircraft capable of decimating your opponents.
People be like AW did nothing good lol. Firing and character customisation were actually big things that I believe it did right. Also adding free dlc guns was a good move also
Jeffrey Murillas I'd rather pay for them so I can actually get the guns and I'm pretty sure they're only available in "Advanced Suppy Drops" anyways so it will take ages to even get them
Sledgehammer won't be inviting you to play Advanced Warfare 2 early! :) Appreciate the honest video, let's hope SH can correct the obvious flaws from this game for their next release.
In my case it seems like every time I spawn into a game all I hear is ,"enemy vulcan overhead, system hack all huds have been disabled, enemy paledin overhead, system hack all huds have been disabled, enemy uav overhead, enemy paladin inbound." This goes on in almost every game so the use of scorestreaks is in full bloom. I think scorestreaks are more annoying that grenade launchers because when the enemy team is getting them one right after another it doesn't make for a pleasant experience in my opinion.
Two years and change later, AW was still probably one of my fave CODs. Pick 13 was better than Pick 10, IMO. I will admit I picked up the game near the end of its lifecycle, so I didn't experience bug city. The only thing that really annoyed me in this game was the supply drop system and the variants, there are still guns I would have liked to use but never got. Having said that, gun variety was really nice - XMG, blunderbuss, kf5, the laser, the one-shot pistol... were some of my faves.
IMO Advanced Warfare was a fun game, but my biggest problem with it is the Bal and ASM1. Those guns, along with guns that were (some still are) unusable, made the game SO much worse for me. I honestly thought the exo suits were a good idea, and I kinda liked AW, but the Bal and ASM1 ruined it for me. I scream whenever I get killed by one. (When I rarely play the game)
+skyler roehlk (skymaxdude) i agree, i thought aw was great, but the bal and asm1 is the reason why i dont wanna play core game modes and just play hardcore dom all the time. since im close to grand master prestige, im done with aw once i get there and play bo2 to prepare for bo3.
+sam5599 gaming typical douchebag reply. "He doesn't like a game that I like, so he MUST suck at it." By the way, use this (.) It's called a "period". It is used to make your sentences not look completely retarded.
+Azan Shafiq The supply drops made it a buy to POSSIBLY win game. Buying supply drops doesn't guarantee a win lol I've gotten every good gun I've wanted and haven't bought a single supply drop
***** Yeah but there's more of a chance getting those overpowered guns. And it's not buy to possible win, it's buy to win. You are just lucky, most people bought them. Luckily i never bought them, i hate this game anyway but it would be better if it was like how was it was before, you got a free one after every game. It was better that way.
My friend has this issue where he has DLC 1, 3, 4 and as you can imagine, matchmaking is so bad for him. He has to constantly party with people who have no dlc just to play. And also he couldn't uninstall it once installed! The only work around is resetting your PS4! Just a disable DLC option would be so nice in this game! I personally think that's a big issue in AW considering not many people still play it anyway.
+xCodCraft22 what a lot of people do is load the all the DLC onto jump drives. when you want to play with the DLC maps you put it in the usb port, when you dont, you take it out. ive been doing that for years
+15Productionz to their credit: The ASM1 was superior, true. but when you look at it as in how good it was...... it was not as op as in other games. Like: It was better but not even close to the difference in power between UMP45 and Uzi in MW2
My biggest 3 problems with AW. 1. SBMM, it's not fun to be going up against sweaty 12 year olds try hards every match. Sure it might be fun to play against a good team and have really fight to win. But COD is a casual game it's not LOL it's meant to have fun not be raging. 2. Map flow/design. With exo suits the game was to fast and offered no break in the action so you constantly had people pushing the spawns. In my opinion this broke game modes like domination and hard point. It's impossible to cap a flag because there a million different ways they can come. 3. Kill streaks. The kill streaks were a step up from ghosts whitch have had no useful streaks. But they lacked firepower and overall were just weren't fun to play with. The recon drone and warbird were so bad it's sad.
+Bloody heart15 Well said. The game was horrible because of the first 2 points you mentioned. The exo abilities had way too much power. And don't forget how exo boosting / jumping affected the spawns. Absolutely unplayable.
+Bloody heart15 other than the spawns flipping randomly I had the most fun with AW. The warbird and aerial drone are the 2 best in the game xD. But the map flow in the vanilla maps are actually good. Having no break is so much better than being 1 off a killstreak and getting killed by a corner camping scrub.
Why I'm subbed to Driftor, he'll acknowledge the game has flaws. Unlike other youtubers who don't speak up as not to tarnish their precious relationships with Activision.
+Steve Ozone I remember seeing Tmartn's Ronin Helmet video and saying to myself "this is probably the first time I've seen him not blow his mind over something".
I love how the CoD community doesn't adapt to the current CoD game, unlike our ancestors who adapted to the environment Earth was before. People call the guys who love AW "autistic", and "another 12 year-old tryhard". This is why I stopped playing CoD, not because I didn't love it, but I just got pissed off of the community. BO2 got so much hate when it came out, and they even sent Vonderhaar some death threats, 2 years later the whole CoD community is protecting this like they are bodyguards.
+Mark Franzoso Jr. that and the killstreaks were awful. I wouldn't say great but it's no worse than AW. Honestly I think in terms of multiplayer MW3 fucked up the most
+Tim Vikouski Well, Black Ops 1 is considered pretty much the best CoD. MW, MW2 and WaW are also considered very good, but onward is considered not that good, by the majority of CoD fans.
+nintendude60 Paid off = rubbish comment. To what advantage is paying for a negative video about AW at the end of its cycle? NONE. At beginning and during the meat of its cycle yes a paid comment may hurt but by then 99% of the money earnt from the title is already obtained. Paid negative video about AW wont help BO3 sales either.
this is my first driftor video and I did enjoy it. lots of good info and compelling opinions. but driftor, dude, take a freaking breath once in a while. hard to keep up with what your saying when your shooting out every point at top speed with no breaks. great vid none the less, keep it up.
-Broken competitive ruleset (sledgehammer actually finalizes the rules, not MLG) -No dead silence perk -Overkill/Fast hands was never addressed in competitive -Broken hit registration, almost as bad as Black Ops 2 -Terrible bomb spots that favor offense rather than defense -You make a noise when you aim down sight Drift0r pretty much said everything else.
What didn't they do wrong? They tried way way WAY to be like BO2 they put so much hype into exo suits and hard core parcore that they didn't actually balance it and the guns where so imbalanced that only 3 or 4 guns were the only guns that were usable. The DLC was just garbage adding in modes that should have already been in the game. Also bringing back free classic guns just in a last stitch attemped to get players back was just sad. Lastly the straight up rip off of treyarchs zombies. Sledgehammer games was working on this game for what 3 years and this steaming pile is what they have to show for it. But my honest opinion of course and my opinion just covers what I think is a few of many many things SG did wrong and hopefully this and Viscreal BFH is enough proof to never let a 3rd party company make your game.
Why do you think grammar was invented for? To make people speak/write/read properly, they're not called grammar nazis, they're called competent people, unlike you. Exaclty that's why the internet is so fucked up, people like you who don't care about grammar make it worse each and every day.
Boosting past each other- well too bad if you play on sensitivity 4, this is not a problem but instead a major point increasing the skill ceiling and promoting fast and acurrate aiming
You wanna know what AW did wrong ? Allowing all the 12 year olds with A.D.H.D. like tendencies to live them out ingame. God damn these exo boost asm1 420° dropshots were annoying.
I love this game. Been playing it since launch. I think the main reason I still like it is because my account was modded to curve skill based match making and honestly when you're doing well in this game it's as good as any other CoD. People don't like it because they get fucked bc of SBMM
I don't have any issues with the pick 13 system. Having less killstreaks going around was actually fun for me. The issue was not that you could choose to skip killstreaks but that many of them weren't that good the balance between perk and ks was off not the system. These are not seperate issues
I know everybody will have their extra items, but I have something that is up your alley on the technical side. I thought the speed of the movements had a significantly detrimental effect on hit detection. With lag already being a factor, the speed of the movements in my mind did nothing but amplify any and all lag and/or any issues with hit detection in the first place. Good video.
i think one of the only things AW did right was the headshot hit marker. I always like how the hit marker let you Know it was a headshot by having eight diagonal lines as opposed to the basic 4 line hit marker.
I agree with ya Driftor..the thing that really bugs me is how it's obviously hard to get a game going, but even more is the respawn time in hardcore TDM..You have to wait 13 secs sometimes to get back in, it should be 3-4 secs tops! that's why I mainly play hardcore kill confirmed.
I'll tell you what they did wrong with AW they turned COD into a Halo knock off and ruined an amazing game ranchise there done dosen't requier a 20min video
"If you went in as a solo player [in league], you were going to get crapped on by a full team." YUP. 100% accurate. One of the major reasons I traded the game in. My first CoD I ever took back.
I thought this game was a good game. why does everyone hate it. everyone just says advanced warfare and never gives any reason. Like seriously wtf? I'm calling you haters out, come tell me why this game is so bad
Reverse boosting ASD weapon balancing weapon variant allowed in ranked play terrible maps, spawns free dlc that you only have a slight chance of getting, Treyarch zombies ripoff exo suits
Lol graphics? I'm not a BF4 fanboy but just look at that game and you'll cringe when you go back to AW, don't believe me? The 1998 game engine that cod is STILL using says it all
+Jack Kelly problem with the engine complaint is that lots of games use very old engines. Rockstar has used the same engine since the ps2 days yes they need a new engine but mostly because of the lag and not the graphics
My streaks are always UAV with Scrambler, Enemy Detection, and Support, Remote Turret with Sentry, 360, and Support, and Care Package with Trap, Better Odds, and support. Guaranteed to earn, and I usually do pretty quickly, and useful. 👍
People that are saying that this game is worse than ghosts should really boot up ghosts again. I'm a cod fan since cod1, and ghosts was the first totally unenjoyable cod for me.
One thing I didn't like about AW was the fact that things were the way they were because there was a way to change them. Example: your warbird only lasts 30s? Just use the module for more points! Your weapon is OP/underpowered? There are variants to fix that. Don't like moment blips on the radar? Use blast suppressor? Don't like flinch? Toughness! No. That's not how it should be and led to a really unbalanced and frustrating thing. Also, the pay-to-win aspect with Supply drops, even though pre-launch they said they had no plans of monetizing them, but that's another story. Great vid.
my biggest problem is with the challenges. mahem paladin challenge is all based on luck (getting the right map, and someone actually getting a paladin, someone else not shooting it down, then your rocket not flying off randomly), killer challenges are near impossible on old gen if you're not playing infected or spawn trapping, exo shield and stim challenges are just annoying grinds, and most of the exo launcher challenges are the same.
In my humble opinion pick13 is the best system! I started with out with no kill streaks and loaded up on perks instead but as soon as I was comfortable enough I switched to kills streaks and my KD jumped up. It fitted in so well with my level of confidence with the game and it helps with balance. Players new to the game who are not able to reach the crazy streaks can get a buff on other things. Bring it back I say!
adding weapon variants was a cool idea, but in my opinion it just adds even more variety to a game that already has a lot of weapon variety. it makes it difficult to get a handle on whats good and what isn't, and why someone beat you in a gunfight in which you thought you had the upper hand etc
Drift0r, you forgot one thing. The collision detection on AW was absolutely horrid. There were so many times in AW where it just felt like I was emptying dozens of bullets into people, and it just wasn't registering. And I know it wasn't my internet, because I did not have this problem with BO3, BO3 had very solid collision detection.
It's good to see driftor making these kind of video. I know these developers watches his video. I hope he doesn't have to make one of these video for bo3. I want that game to be perfect. I have big hopes for bo3 and so does every body else.
"Sledgehammer did a very good job at keeping OP guns at bay" That's blatantly untrue. The Bal, ASM1, and HBR have been insanely OP for the longest time.
I just want a larger community if anything. Getting good lobies like what we had in previous CODs is so much harder. At least take it back to basics, thats what we all used to enjoy, Ground War, TDM, Dom, Demo, HC ect (Search obviously) and either DZ or One shot. The more playlists the more fragmented the community becomes.
Exo boost was great almost the best thing about Advanced Warfare. I enjoy the combat that happens once I engage an enemy with it. Blast suppressor becomes less of a factor in this instance. Infinite warfare looks like it'll be a fun cod.
Bo3 has the PC matchmaking issue right now. Started yesterday. 300,000 people in nuk3town? 15 minutes for a match, and there will always be the same people. And the lobbies will most likely crash upon start.
One more bad thing; in the campaign, there is no back button. to go from campaign to multiplayer or whatever, I had to fully close out of and reload the game.
As an sn6 main since launch i have just gotten used to the sn6 from using it so much and now i can run it pretty good, I've gotten up to 3.2/1.2 k/d ratio as my best game with the sn6, its good if you get used to it
The only Streaks worth to use were like : Paladin(Sleight of hand,105mm,ExtraTime)/Warbird(Aggressor,ExtraTime)/Vulcan (3laser,ExtraTime,3 time use) and System hack in any variation but none of those were even wort those points still had to use em.
One thing advanced warfare, ghosts and black ops did right is that they had local play where you could play against bots good for the players who are not so good at multiplayer and its a good place to try out weapons to get a feel for the weapons, to train or to just have fun.
I run warbird and assault drone. I get them quite often and think they are a great extra gun. I don't know why nothing was said about system hack and bombing run. Those are the worst kill streaks ever, and people get them all the time! You can have a match of some or hard point where you don't get to see clearly for what seems to be the entire match. And your brain is shaking so hard from the constant bombing runs, that for somewhere can almost kill you no matter how many levels are above your head.
Well, I guess this is a fitting time to give out my opinion of Advanced Warfare. My initial draw to the game, after I finished the Campaign, was that there was a carbon fiber weapon camo, and it wasn't difficult to get. Once I got to level four (or five?) and unlocked the Create-a-Class, I almost never ran any perks after that. I rarely play videogames more than a few hours per week, and this was the first Call of Duty that I started trying all of the guns. I was done with some of the weapons once I got the 150 kills for the carbon fiber camo, and in the few months it took me to get through all the weapons I wanted to try, I found I liked the AK-12 and EPM3 best. By this time, the daily Supply Drop Challenges were active, and I usually went back for those (especially since I don't support the Advanced Supply Drops). Otherwise, I kept trying to better myself at the boost mechanic. I stopped playing Advanced Warfare a couple of months ago. I look back on this Call of Duty and realize that it never really held my attention. For what it was, it was a good game. It gave me a few months of entertainment. But this time last year, I still looked forward to playing Ghosts. I also looked forward to Black Ops 2, Modern Warfare 3, and Modern Warfare 2 (where I started) during this respective time of their years. The main difference between Advanced Warfare, now, and Black Ops, four years ago, was that I wasn't able to get into any matches this time of year for Black Ops, whereas I can still get into a match in Advanced Warfare. I would not call Advanced Warfare the worst Call of Duty I've played, but it comes close. Well...that's a long comment. I hope I didn't bore anyone. Thanks to those who've read it through, and if you think I wasted your time...well, I never forced you to read it in the first place, so I won't apologize. Otherwise, have a nice rest of your day!
I dont like the pick 13 either and their are way to many weapon variants. The kill streaks sucked to me I liked running support better my self. Great vid drift0r!
Spawns are on the top of my list for this game, they are absolutely atrocious even 10 months after release. Also there are still out of map glitches where people can still shoot you but you cant shoot them.
I didn't run blast surpressor on any class and I also don't like the silencer. Instead I rush the outsides of a map. The thought process behind this is: I can win any 1v1 (or even 1v2) gunfight. Maybe it worked out because I play on PC or because I played FFA most of the time but my FFA winrate is about 35% which is quite high considering you have to beat 7 other players. If you think of yourself as a good player just try it. Also boosting was quite effective on pc.
It was the 6 story verticality and the fast boosting that upset the gameplay. You'd see a red dot and boom 2 secs later you're there. You'd be sniping someone jumping and boom they're out of your scope.
The movement didn't allow for much strategy, as there was very little map contain in Domination. That's why every game ended with everyone having at least 7 caps -- cap a flag, move to the next one, cap, next one...repeat.
guys i got two extremely irritating problems 1) i'm on ps3 and i cannot find a domination game (it is like only 20 people are playing when i am playing) 2) the exos in aw were supposed to be helpful for the soldier and their hip fire the weird thing is that in past cods the hip fire was MINIMAL for example the sniper's hip fire in bo1 wa the one of the ameli and aw snipers' was all over the place ( really condrey ........)
The biggest problem with the variants was that you could only unlock them bassed on a random number generator. If you had to complete difficult challenges it would be way better.
On top of everything. They add dlc weapons, but only make them available in supply drops!!!! WTF? That belongs in a free to play game not a full priced game!
Did you know that the UAV has 4 slots for customization? Because the thing comes with free orbital customization . What I mean for anybody who doesn't get it, is that it is so low in the air, that you cannot see it in the air, thus it is unable to shoot down. That is why the UAV is OP, you'll earn it no matter what, and nobody will challenge it due to it being as low as it is.
The map sizes were still short and especially considering the movement speed was increased. Also the easeness of the system hack. Grenade Spam from the lovely grenade launcher.
pick 13 was supposed to be similar to pick 10 but their own variant of it. They included scorestreaks into the slots so you could have what you want. trey arch forces you have 3 scorestreaks. what I hate about ranked play was if everyone got kicked from the game you have to wait 10 mins to get into ranked play. plus they took maps away after they took them away from mlg and didn't add the dlc maps to it.
A couple of other things I would include: The guns (for the most part) sound wimpy, which is weird, since sometimes they sound better in third person than when you are firing them. The Supply Drop system, while cool when you get good stuff, was mostly filled with boring trash that got deleted immediately after getting it. What is even more annoying about it was that you would get copies of things you already have, and would never see certain variants or weapons. One might think that after the Blunderbuss/SVO/STG44/M16/AK-47/CEL 3 came out, you would see a lot more of those, but instead I am still seeing tons of variants or cosmetic options i have repeatedly gotten (I still don't have an SVO and haven't gotten the other three new ones). The Daily challenge was a nice step, but it was too little on that front. What would have been better is have challenges and/or money like BO1, where you can buy Supply Drops or variants and items, allowing for more chances to get more instead of random chance. One of the biggest Problems was, though the movement system was good, some people got WAY too good at it, to the point that you can't beat them without being at their level. Also, a lot of times when people jump I get completely lost. That last one was more personal, but it is still a gripe.
I dont know why people say toughness is a crutch perk... I never ran it. Always had blast suppressor and hardline. And i almost always run 4 streaks uav, system hack, ai warbird and missle launching drone. Sometimes paladin too.
+Stroke the Forge Laggy connections is the biggest issue with it. The better you play, the worse the game gets. Logic = -1
+Stroke the Forge >Game Is Hard.
Exactly why I hated advanced because for me I would do really good one game and then the next i'm facing a whole bunch of tryhards
Sbmm has been in cod longer then AW. AW just put it over connect
Its been in other CoDs, but only in League Play. It should stay there, not be a cancer to pub players
What Advanced Warfare Did Wrong (My Top 5)

+Mankiller 1239 yeah I agree with u mate
I love the Eco suits but they did become. Money whores
They had to introduce paid supply drops the game didn't make enough money because it was plain bad. Instead they suckered children into gambling with their parents credit cards on supply drops to make up their losses.
Advanced supply drops... Nuff said.
Pff…basicly :I
I didn't like AW that much but I still played it but after they announced ASDs I completely quit AW and I'll never ever buy another SH game again
Agreed
The stupid shits at Sledgehammer just introduced gambling to 12 year olds by putting them in causing a whole lot of wasted moneyb
Orbrun I thought that the idea of supply drops was a good concept, even if it went in the wrong direction. But as soon as there were things exclusive to ASDs I lost all hope
Sledgehammer did good job at rebalancing? Um watch the kill feed
I saw no Asm1 and BAL ,finally
+Danster826 that's because very one in this lobby was running noobtube ak12s and MDLs.

When multiple series milk these, people get tired of them, so of course people don't like it after everyone does it 1000 times

yes COD did exist before killstreaks but multiplayer wasn't as popular in COD before COD 4

I liked Ghosts.
Let the hate commence
+Vanpyro Gaming I loved Ghosts, especially Cranked, that was my favorite game mode, but it still isn't my favorite CoD.
Ryukred It's not my favourite either, but it's up there.s
Ghosts was like the bottom bar that we thought was the worse but then aw lowered that bar even further
Most boring cod.
But I'll give it credit though, it's connection and hit detection were prefect. Also aliens was awesome
***** extremely large maps and if u finally found somebody you die instantly
Sledgehammer won't be inviting you to play Advanced Warfare 2 early! :)
Appreciate the honest video, let's hope SH can correct the obvious flaws from this game for their next release.
You going to make a video on this mate? ;)
I think drift pretty much nailed it, I did a somewhat similar commentary called "initial thoughts and final review" though :)
They've been giving hints to WW2
MrMushman182 you lied it was ww2
If the title of the video was: "What Advanced Warfare Didn't do Wrong?", It'd be a 5 seconds video.
He already did a video on that you moron

+10TimesOver It was a joke you moron.
+HORSE SIX ZERO ok
+HORSE SIX ZERO Agreed
What didn't Aw do wrong ?
ummmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I can't think off anything. The second BO3 comes out AW is going in the trash
The name was cool
bringing highrise back but then a little bit too much
+Michael Condrey More money was probably stolen by Advanced Supply Drops than was earned by sales
It was like Ghosts. It had it's problems sure but overall I liked it
Same here
Finally someone who i can relate to
Me too
+ScarHydreigon87 Ghost was trash
+RLprod Yet better than AW
I have absolutely no problems with this game. I love it
+isemine Said no-one ever
Someone understands me lol
+Thunder's Goose who
I will put my cod faith with Treyarch.
Don't get too hyped. I played the beta of Black Ops 3 and the game got me more mad than AW
+Foureyes1121 cause you suck bo3 is so good i enjoyed the wall running and the thrust jumps is not that bad
+sam5599 gaming typical douchebag reply. "He doesn't like a game that I like, so he MUST suck at it." By the way, use this (.) It's called a "period". It is used to make your sentences not look completely retarded.
+Foureyes1121 Then there is something wrong with you because BO3 is the best CoD since BO2
Foureyes1121 aw sucks and the only thing i hate about bo3 is the spawns and the tempest
its easier when you say what they did right. I thought uplink was good and I thought getting gear(not weapons) out of supply drops was cool.
I hated uplink, ctf is better in my opinion.
He said not weapons idiot
+Azan Shafiq funny thing is that I got a lot of the elites, but I rarely use them. I always stick to default versions of weapons
+xCodCraft22 what a lot of people do is load the all the DLC onto jump drives. when you want to play with the DLC maps you put it in the usb port, when you dont, you take it out. ive been doing that for years
That was the most amazing line I have ever heard. "Thou shalt get thy killstreaks." Just...out...standing.
Am i the only one that liked AW ?
yup, every one else loves AW
Yes ur the only one
Yes you the only one that like it.
+erick ruiz I love AW
+erick ruiz I love AW
Weapon balance was abysmal the ASM1 was cancer to this game
Any ASM1/obsidian steed/insanity where the three most annoying for me.
+15Productionz to their credit:
The ASM1 was superior, true. but when you look at it as in how good it was...... it was not as op as in other games.
Like: It was better but not even close to the difference in power between UMP45 and Uzi in MW2
+dagehaHD no for everyone
Speakeasy was the only gun I was really bothered about,
I'm only bothered about a gun if I consistently know I've been killed by it without looking at the killcam or the killfeed. Unless it's a shotgun.
I thought skill based matchmaking was good, if you were going to go try hard then go play with the other tryhards!
+Bloody heart15 other than the spawns flipping randomly I had the most fun with AW. The warbird and aerial drone are the 2 best in the game xD. But the map flow in the vanilla maps are actually good. Having no break is so much better than being 1 off a killstreak and getting killed by a corner camping scrub.
every time I get a recon drone I either leave it in the care package or just open it up then destroy it.
oh i thought he meant the assault drone xD
Why I'm subbed to Driftor, he'll acknowledge the game has flaws. Unlike other youtubers who don't speak up as not to tarnish their precious relationships with Activision.
+Steve Ozone ali-a has always voiced his dislike for aw's gameplay, watch some of his live comms go on his twitter
Go watch Bdobbinsftw then, he tells the real stuff behind games no bullshit
+Steve Ozone I remember seeing Tmartn's Ronin Helmet video and saying to myself "this is probably the first time I've seen him not blow his mind over something".
"Thou shalt get thy killstreaks"
-Drift0r 2015
I love how the CoD community doesn't adapt to the current CoD game, unlike our ancestors who adapted to the environment Earth was before.
People call the guys who love AW "autistic", and "another 12 year-old tryhard". This is why I stopped playing CoD, not because I didn't love it, but I just got pissed off of the community. BO2 got so much hate when it came out, and they even sent Vonderhaar some death threats, 2 years later the whole CoD community is protecting this like they are bodyguards.
AW is the worst CoD ever, plain and simple. You can't spell awful without AW
Shut up just cause you can't get kills
agreed. terrible game
Ghost is the worst then aw
+Mark Franzoso Jr. that and the killstreaks were awful. I wouldn't say great but it's no worse than AW. Honestly I think in terms of multiplayer MW3 fucked up the most
+arath guijarro You didn't make any sense.
What Advanced Warfare did wrong?....Exist
+charlie laureano cod in general since w@w and MW has fallen of base
hahahahaha
+Tim Vikouski Well, Black Ops 1 is considered pretty much the best CoD. MW, MW2 and WaW are also considered very good, but onward is considered not that good, by the majority of CoD fans.
+charlie laureano What they did wrong was release on console where peasants complained because their shitty controllers couldn't keep up.
-Broken competitive ruleset (sledgehammer actually finalizes the rules, not MLG)
-No dead silence perk
-Overkill/Fast hands was never addressed in competitive
-Broken hit registration, almost as bad as Black Ops 2
-Terrible bomb spots that favor offense rather than defense
-You make a noise when you aim down sight
Drift0r pretty much said everything else.
The cod community hated ghosts and aw but they never hate a moden warafre game or a black ops game what a coincidence
Well WaW is the best treyarch game, I like MW series and AW and ghosts are both good
It is a coincidence...
I liked Aw on last Gen, still play today
*****
parcore parkore bla bla you know the whole robot super jump thing
+Forest Koyama parkour...
It's the internet no one cares about grammer.... expect grammer nazis and no one likes them.
Why do you think grammar was invented for? To make people speak/write/read properly, they're not called grammar nazis, they're called competent people, unlike you. Exaclty that's why the internet is so fucked up, people like you who don't care about grammar make it worse each and every day.
I liked hardline.
supply drops where fine, but when they added Advanced supply drops just ruined it
You did a good job pointing out all the major problems with the video. Nice job Drift0r
I hope that in the next IW cod there are only 3-5-7 streaks and a specialist. I hate killstreaks.
not gonna happen sorry :/
Itz Zaya Apparently yeah I know... I just dont get the fun in not making kills myself, using any of those Michael Bay Explosion Killstreaks.
Watarmalon lol XD
+Watarmalon *ENEMY AC130 ABOVE, GET TO COVER!*
+N3XTREVOLUTION Lol what if they brought that back. L Kids would break their disc.
Less killstreaks is actually good!!
it is a FPS! It IS about gunfights not lame OP easy kills
+Snipin4honor but Killstreaks made call of duty.
Boosting past each other- well too bad if you play on sensitivity 4, this is not a problem but instead a major point increasing the skill ceiling and promoting fast and acurrate aiming
Killstreaks made cod that's why cod4 and mw2 were so revolutionary. Go play battlefield if u want and fps with no streaks
+Snipin4honor If you are going to say that, play Battlefield. Killstreaks is the foundation of cod
Thank you Drift0r, this game is trash and I would rather play E.T.
Drift0r, all your videos are great
+Derp Jackson 100% better than AW
You have horrible taste
+TTheKidX7 Gaming At least E.T. would make me laugh instead of pissing me off, this makes it a hell of a lot better.
+BobbyBaudoin I would laugh at ET, aw makes me 😨😵😭 AW is 💩
The analytical side of this channel is one of the many things that makes me keep coming back. Keep it up, Drift0r, your content is awesome
Pause @ 8:32 Drift0r 's character is like "bruuuh... I'm done...."
This is so true, advance warfare was pretty wrong i think the exo is the most wrong thing
Exo's ruined everything same with asd
Remove the dashing in mid air and slow the jump down a bit and I think it would have been 10x gameplay wise
+Envixous sorry, didn't explain that well enough. I meant that that's how it should have been from the start
You wanna know what AW did wrong ?
Allowing all the 12 year olds with A.D.H.D. like tendencies to live them out ingame.
God damn these exo boost asm1 420° dropshots were annoying.
The faster pace was needed as we came right outta ghosts
ur dumb Fair point, that game was pretty much camp heaven.
But still, I think they took it just a little too far.
BaumJohn bo3 has the right balance trust me, 3arc games always do
Am I the only one who actually likes this game?
I love this game. Been playing it since launch. I think the main reason I still like it is because my account was modded to curve skill based match making and honestly when you're doing well in this game it's as good as any other CoD. People don't like it because they get fucked bc of SBMM
Lol I had a 2.4 kd. The game wasn't good even though I was good at it.
Good video.
why are people so full of hate. Wow.
'Cause they don't know any better feelings
Because this game sucked?
@@jaybee8836 OK. If you don't like the game, don't play it and play your favorite game
A gun focused CoD with few killstreaks is a bad thing?
Then why did it work for Cod4?
ReboyGTR yeah, i dont like scorestreaks
ReboyGTR Because the map design in Cod 4 promoted strategy and interesting gunfights, whereas newer call of duties don't.
I hope he does one for black ops 3
i think one of the only things AW did right was the headshot hit marker.
AW haters incoming
+Charlie Butcher So everyone incoming?
+Shrek Salad System Hack, our exo suits have been disabled
Wow I'm early, glad you made this drft - thanks! I personally strongly dislike this game :(
what do you think of bo3, for me it feels and plays as bo2 ( that is for me a B3AST game)
Trolled me :( and i spelled it like that as a joke....
Demian Jager I think it looks promising, I'm have not pre ordered and am not buying the game straight away, but I'm defiantly considering :)
+Demian Jager how to start a war say BO3 sucks wait for comments.
Dylan Boswell So you just are going to wait for the full game and you see how it looks ( Zombies looks awesome though)
I'll tell you what they did wrong with AW they turned COD into a Halo knock off and ruined an amazing game ranchise
there done dosen't requier a 20min video
AW was nothing like halo kid.
No one but kids put Xx---XX lol. Stop lying.
I can tell you've never seen halo gameplay
xXFatalBlowXx I forgot to add that kids like you get mad easily, like you just did there.
TheBlazingSkrubNub :D:D I'm not a kid and I actually don't get mad too easy but this Halo BS does fire me up a bit
"If you went in as a solo player [in league], you were going to get crapped on by a full team."
YUP. 100% accurate. One of the major reasons I traded the game in. My first CoD I ever took back.
ive never seen a person that good with a shield.
Only 17 minutes long??
My vid "everything aw did wrong" will be 45+ minutes of my ranting
+TTheKidX7 Gaming Mine would've took until 2016
I thought this game was a good game. why does everyone hate it. everyone just says advanced warfare and never gives any reason. Like seriously wtf? I'm calling you haters out, come tell me why this game is so bad
Reverse boosting ASD weapon balancing weapon variant allowed in ranked play terrible maps, spawns free dlc that you only have a slight chance of getting, Treyarch zombies ripoff exo suits
I agree
+Itz Zaya Apparently Black ops 2 and ghost were worst
Danster826 lol no they weren't
Bal 27. There's your answer
First cod I traded in! Only good thing about AW is the graphics. ..rest of it sux
You still have ghosts...?
Lol graphics? I'm not a BF4 fanboy but just look at that game and you'll cringe when you go back to AW, don't believe me? The 1998 game engine that cod is STILL using says it all
+Jack Kelly problem with the engine complaint is that lots of games use very old engines. Rockstar has used the same engine since the ps2 days
yes they need a new engine but mostly because of the lag and not the graphics
Black ops was. Got to level 50, quit and threw it in the toilet. Cuz you know "crap ops" then threw it in the trash.
+adam bent black ops 2*
Thanks drift0r for voicing my thoughts, near exactly as i had them
My streaks are always UAV with Scrambler, Enemy Detection, and Support, Remote Turret with Sentry, 360, and Support, and Care Package with Trap, Better Odds, and support. Guaranteed to earn, and I usually do pretty quickly, and useful. 👍
So am I the only person who really likes this game?
Yes
Brandon Hughes definitely not
i do
Brandon Hughes no
I you cat
I are cat
I beautiful cat
I just cat
I the cat
I way cat
I you cat
I are cat
Read the second word of each cat sentence. :)
People that are saying that this game is worse than ghosts should really boot up ghosts again. I'm a cod fan since cod1, and ghosts was the first totally unenjoyable cod for me.
wallie1994 i liked ghosts and advanced warfare
Lol I play it on PS4. Still more enjoyable
As an sn6 main since launch i have just gotten used to the sn6 from using it so much and now i can run it pretty good, I've gotten up to 3.2/1.2 k/d ratio as my best game with the sn6, its good if you get used to it
i didn't expect an 7 hour video but instead a 5 sec. REason everything wrong
The only two things AW did wrong (at least for me) was:
1. ASDs
2. SBMMs
And I actually do like the movement system.
I totally agree with you when it comes to ranked play
man...WHY DID YOU NOT RELEASE THIS VIDEO BEFORE I BUY THE GAME >
The movement didn't allow for much strategy, as there was very little map contain in Domination. That's why every game ended with everyone having at least 7 caps -- cap a flag, move to the next one, cap, next one...repeat.
guys i got two extremely irritating problems
1) i'm on ps3 and i cannot find a domination game
(it is like only 20 people are playing when i am playing)
2) the exos in aw were supposed to be helpful for the soldier and their hip fire
the weird thing is that in past cods the hip fire was MINIMAL
for example the sniper's hip fire in bo1 wa the one of the ameli
and aw snipers' was all over the place ( really condrey ........)
Thou shalt get thy killstreaks - Drift0r
The biggest problem with the variants was that you could only unlock them bassed on a random number generator. If you had to complete difficult challenges it would be way better.
On top of everything. They add dlc weapons, but only make them available in supply drops!!!! WTF? That belongs in a free to play game not a full priced game!
The biggest flaw in this game is with the pick 13 system?
I can't even...
Waiting for part 2 Drift0r! ;)
The map sizes were still short and especially considering the movement speed was increased. Also the easeness of the system hack. Grenade Spam from the lovely grenade launcher.
Driftor.... you just described nearly every aspect of this game.
pick 13 was supposed to be similar to pick 10 but their own variant of it.
