Another great video. I'm retired and don't need to know how to start a cleaning business. But I love watching you clean. Your expertise makes cleaning look so effortless. I love to see things clean and in order.❤ God bless
Stephanie, what an absolutely awesome video. I love to watch your videos. As I have told you previously, I have learned so much from you and I am 77 years old. I hope anyone who is thinking about starting a cleaning business follow your steps to the letter. You are such a wise woman and not afraid to share your knowledge with everyone. Looking forward to your next video, Stephanie. Take care, my dear. Cookie in Mandeville Louisiana
I am a 1:1 business. I am solo and have exactly 1 client 😂I also just mad a cleaning bag like you have there too so much easier! And you have to be a hard worker when you clean!
I’m sure this video will be very helpful to anyone who’s thinking of starting a business. I admire your knowledge and professionalism. It doesn’t surprise me a bit that you have been so successful between having those traits and such a strong work ethic.
That was very interesting. I have cleaned in factories, offices, Dr's surgery, primary school and domestic. And the most stressful was cleaning in people's homes. It feels weird at first and it was worse if they wasn't at home. I was really nervous for some reason 😂. All my cleaning jobs were second jobs and in some cases I enjoyed it more than my primary job. I've also had a cleaner in my home and that feels weird too, probably because I was there and I felt lazy. She came once a week to hoover and clean the floors and the skirting boards. Occasionally I would ask her to do the bathroom. I have health issues and find it hard to walk. Sometimes worse than others and I wanted a cleaner to give it a good going over once a week and I'd give it a quick do in between, and if I wasn't able then I knew it would get done. It turns out she wasn't great at her job the way she made it sound. To make it worse I actually knew her. Her three children came to the preschool I worked for and she gave me a discount she said because I looked after her children so well 🙈 (£10 instead of £12). She gave up the business after a year because of health reasons and I decided to just muddle along by myself 😅. So keep that in mind, could you complain or fire someone who you know personally? Tricky 🤔
I suppose cleaning homes does feel weird at first. I got use to it really quickly though and the best part to me has always been and will always be when the client is not home, I love that!! Yes, I could let someone go that’s not doing a good job. Some of the people that helped me when I first got started I fired and I knew them. They were just not getting it… it’s not easy to do, but I did.
Hey Stephanie! I’m watching you while deep cleaning/declutterring my home! I truly appreciate and enjoy your content! Whenever I tune in, I feel like I’m catching up with a friend 💜
This information is pure gold. Back decades ago, as a young dumb 20 year old, I tried cleaning houses. Several women of social elite status around here took me in to clean their homes. I made 7 dollars an hour as a flat rate and my not knowing any better behind let them keep me a full day to do whatever they asked. By the end of it, no kidding, they had me knocking down wasp nests and fixing decorative fences in their yards. They had me doing crazy things on top of fully cleaning their homes. I would come home exhausted and out of cleaning products most days. I just didn't know any better.
Oh wow Coffee, that awful!! Yeah they should not have had you fixing anything girl, but like you said, you were young and didn’t know. $7 is wild for cleaning at any point in life. But we live and we learn, I’m sorry you dealt e with such terrible people. They knew that wasn’t right… THEY KNEW IT!
@allthingshousekeeping hind sight is definitely 20 20! I was intimidated by those ladies and I let myself be taken advantage of. Live and learn! You may consider making a video just on dealing with people and expectation agreements for the young ones watching. ❤️
I actually did make a video on that when I did the clean a client video. I went into how to deal with clients and their ecxpectations… but I could probably talk about that some more in another video I guess. We’ll see🤗
Hey my girl you are just plan simply wonderful giving all the advice on how to own your own cleaning busy what great information you are giving to your subscribers. I always have liked cleaning I use to work for hotels and it was a very hard job. I also did janitoral work but cleaning a house has to be the hardest. It’s work and like you said it’s all in the details. I wish I knew you when I was younger I might have opened my own cleaning business. Thank you for keep inspiring me to keep my home up. See you soon
Thank you Vickie! I love to help and spread information. You are so right about working in hotels, it’s hard. I did it for about two weeks and was done!! But I was no where near even thinking of starting my own cleaning business at that time, I was still barely 20 yrs old, if that.
Luv luv luv! - was sick in bed yesterday and binge watched your videos to catch up. You have truly helped me change the way I look at cleaning. Love the detail. Thank you
Well Trina thank you so much, I love you e that!! It’s comments like this that truly help me create content love… I hope that you’re feeling better or at least starting too♥️
Stephanie you always make your videos exciting while teaching and it’s a beautiful thing. You make cleaning so easy and enjoyable ❤️❤️❤️Much love too you🥰
Are there certain products/tools that you won’t take home to home? For example our old house keeper didn’t bring her own vacuum and toilet brushes. She used ours because she said it was unsanitary to carry those from home to home. Also what do you do if a client has laundry all over the floor? Do you assume it’s dirty and throw it in the dirty bin? Do you wash the clothes for your clients, or do you just ask them what’s dirty/clean?
Yes ma’am… I don’t carry around brooms/dust pans or toilet brushes. I do carry the toilet wands w/ refills in case the client doesn’t have more than one toilet brush for multiple bathrooms ( because it happens). No, I am not asking a client what’s clean or dirty, that’s not my jobs to sort their laundry, because it should be picked up before I come… so if it’s not and there’s a basket present, I throw the clothes in there.
Sorry to hear you have people bothering you. I Don know why people don’t just scroll past your content if it is not of interest to them. The host of the Devil has nothing better to do than to be hateful. I will keep you in prayer.
I’m sure you learned that in a cleaning service however, that’s not always necessary/a rule. I’ve been servicing this home and many others for years… so I know them well. It’s about knowing your clients needs not following rules. One size does not fit all.
Heyy my fave Thanks for giving us another great video on cleaning and good tips on starting a business with cleaning. You did an awesome job on your client home. There would not be a reason for her to get rid of you, because you get down into places no one would have thought of. Girllll I wish I can pick my mom's house up and bring it to Atl so you can help a sister out lol because hunni too much too much especially with the dusting, my nose dont like it lol. But it is always a joy and relaxing watching your vlogs. Keep them coming sis 💕I hope you have a great week ❣
Not pick momma house up and bring it too Atl!!!! You are funny 😆 but I feel you sis. I would certainly take care of her! Dust bothers my noise also, especially when it’s a lot. It’s always great to see you Chelle♥️♥️♥️
