      Ppl need to understand we DIDN'T vote for tRump in 2016. Hillary won by 3 Million votes.
      The Russians messed w/ the EC & THAT'S how tRump became Fake Prez.
      The fact that EC trumps (in 2016 it was literally) the ppl's vote is disgusting & should be gotten rid of. It's NOT the will of the ppl! 💙🙀😾💙

    • @breathefree.
      @breathefree. 9 месяцев назад +14

      The full story of how this happened in Michigan is worth hearing.
      1. Citizens joined forces under the banner of "Voters Not Politicians" to create a ballot proposal calling for a Citizens Redistricting Commission, which could undo gerrymandering. We collected over 425,000 signatures to place the proposal on the ballot in 2018.
      2. Citizens canvassed statewide, educating voters about the proposed change and encouraging them to vote yes. It passed 61% in favor and 39% opposed. A voting rights ballot proposal also passed, enabling all people to vote by mail. Little did we know then how important this would be in 2020 due to the pandemic.
      3. Meanwhile, in response to trump getting elected in 2016, many women ran for public office in 2018 and won. I had never previously seen so many people canvassing for candidates.
      4. The Citizens Redistricting Commission was formed and after the 2020 census, they drew new district lines.
      5. The 2022 election was the first with new districts. The outcome was that the proportion of Democrat & Republican representatives now mirrored the collective votes for each party. Dems gained the majority in the state legislature after decades of gerrymandered Republican majorities.
      6. Also in 2022, a citizen-led ballot proposal to protect reproductive rights was on the ballot, along with expanded voting rights. Both passed.
      7. The newly-elected Dem majority got to work right away, passing legislation to repeal a 1931 law that criminalized abortion, expanded protections for LGBTQ+ people, economic relief for low-income household, and more. In 2023 they passed 4 pieces of legislature to address gun violence.
      8. A key point about the ballot proposal protecting reproductive rights .... it includes a range of rights including IVF. Advocates knew how far Republicans would reach to take rights away and built those protections into the proposal. And ... it was an amendment to the state constitution, which cannot be overturned by the state legislature.
      Michigan is a case study of how citizens worked in coalition to take back their power and then elected people to represent the majority. And that majority is delivering for the people.

      tRump wants to be a dictator! If that happens he will run the whole country, no courts and judges, no democrats, no republicans. No FBI, DOJ, IRS, Secret Service. No Medicare, medicaid or social security! That's a dictator and that's his goal. No constitution, no democracy! He's stated bits of this for the last 2 years but the gop is to crazy to understand! Two different "rich buddies" of his have said in interviews their first job will be to get the people that has "been after trump" these last 2 years. That's a dictator!

      This same propaganda has been repackaged from previous Presidential criticism. Bush, Nixon, Reagan, Obama, Clinton and many others of both parties have been accused of being dictators who are an immediate threat to the Constitution. We hear this same crap every four years from both sides and the only thing that changes are the names. I'm not falling for this psych out scare tactics game. The issues are important and both candidates are deeply flawed. In other words, it's the same garbage we deal with each and every election in our lifetime.
