Its a demo from 1982, of the greatest Thrash band playing a Diamond Head classic with crazy youthful vigor! I mean they recorded it on a 4 track in McGovney's garage, it is not supposed to be Grammy award winning production here. Come on man you need to get a life! It is amazing to hear their roots and I personally think its awesome!
How fast shit moves in the entertainment industry. This is them in 1982 and by 1984, 2 members have been replaced and their sound on Ride the Lightning was completely different
flyers22 he owned them? If Dave owned Metallica, how did he end up booted out by his "own" band, hungover, & on a one way bus out of town back home, just before his "property" signed with a label for it's debut album without him (the so-called "owner")? Dave Mustaine is the sloppiest , random note striking guitarist & an annoying, crying baby. It has been damn near 40 years, he even found his "own" success and still whines like a bitch about it. I got very little respect for him, if any at all....👋💩⬅ "hi, I'm Dave, can I come back to your band, everyone knows I'm a piece of (💩)#2. Please give me what you guys earned without me👶". 😂😂😂😂😂
Love both versions being a fan of NWOBHM, I like Metallica thought DH's early albums were awesome. I still spin DH's albums forty years later from when I first heard about them from Kerrang during the early 80s circa 81 to 82
dude... the mix is better than kill 'em all...the bass is loud enough. they had a different understanding back then i guess. cuz minus the vocals, this is good.
It´s probably Dave, or am I right folks? Or is the description right? Have read that Dave used to do the vocals, James didn´t want to sing at start but kinda had to when Mustain left.
Ron McGovney's bass playing is awesome!
Wow James voice sounds so different but still cool.
He was trying to sound like Sean Harris.
He didn't do a bad job of it.
@@MKDumas1981plus he was at the time of the the demo march 1982 18 legit a kid

Is it weird that this is my favorite version of this song?
+Cody Peaster Nope, if you like it, that's fine. In fact it's really cool version.
if you like weird vocals, which young James has here, comparing to great vocals of the original - well, thats...dunno lol
not at all dude. but gotta agree with dave. nothing will ever top that recording
no, cause anything sounds superior with mustaine on it
Before you say "never, period" perhaps you should listen to Metallicas 1982 cover of Killing Time period.
Mustaine is really swinging on that rhythm 🔥
The only time Metallica ever performed the "Gotta be good, see you tonight" part.
holy shit james is nailing it
Damn i wish i lived in the 80s......
Promising band, hope theyll make it
Love a treble bass sound from Ron Mc Govney, old Metallica bassist..like Lemmy Motorhead sound..
who is the person that had this hidden for decades?!? Cant believe this stuff even exists. Amazing
this sounds great. Punk fans will always love their early stuff more than the stadium metal they turned into later on.
Estas en lo cierto yo amo el punk y me encanta No life Til leather
For me the early metallica its like fusion of british punk&NWOBHM
Get over it.
Hey it's that girl from the excorcist!
Let Jesus Yeaheah you!
The whole band is on fire here (even Lars although he's just going "kick snare kick snare")
holy shit this sounds so similar to DH
Dave and Ron actually had pretty good chemistry
This is James Hetfield singing.
yes he is. he was really young, this was before kill em' all
My favorite Diamond Head song. I think it's pretty good considering they're like 16 and in a garage.
Amazing!!!
When is Dave gonna guest on a new album? This so BADASS!
Btw love the tuned up sound.
It gives punk style

ich liebe dieses lied und das ist die beste Interpretation von Metallica
Lars really improved as a drummer. But I think I prefer the raw energy here.
thats raw thrash filth right there, wish their later stuff sounded like this.
They were also very harsh here !The bass rumbles properly. That's what poster at the left ?Diamond Head ?\ m /
probably micheal schenker i have seen a lot of old metallica photos from that time and they had a huge micheal schenker poster
Great outro!
@Ryanmetalmatthew actually he sang the chorus in seek once
@ZuBeRCraZyBassY its on youtube. just look up seek and destroy dave mustaine on chorus
Much better than the one on Garage Inc
Who cares about James, that explosion you hear on lead guitar is obviously Dave Mustaine. He owned Metallica back in those days.

😂😂😂😂😂
It was my birthday! I was 7 lol
Honestly Metallica were already playing this song better than Diamond Head when they were 18.
You are exaggerating, and you know it! To remind you, just listen to this ruclips.net/video/ecAdRWqNmCE/видео.html

🤣🤣🤣🤣
@thrasherlml then id like to hear that too , u have a link or something which i could see to see if dave really did the seek chorus ?
dude... the mix is better than kill 'em all...the bass is loud enough. they had a different understanding back then i guess. cuz minus the vocals, this is good.
No lead guitar? Was this after mustaine was fired and they never hired kirk yet? Awesome bass
Mustaine is the only guitar player here. James is only singing on this demo
Thank you two for this question & answer! I was just starting to wonder that. Orange County holy artifact here
666 views. nice!
sounds like my sister singing
Diamond Head should atleast get some of royalties from Metallica.
They do actually
They do
And also they covered metallicas song no remorse
Brian Tatler has said he makes almost all of his income from Metallica cover royalties.
la verdadera cancion es de diamond head
this sure sounds like Sean Harris from Diamond head - neither JH nor DM....sorry but listen to the original version by diamond head and you'll know
yeah James tied to emulate him in the beginning
have fun living in yesterday grandpa
Better than today, she male

Thats what i was thinking
This is not like metallica, you can actually hear bass
Who is the vocalist???
James
@@roaming740 Before his balls dropped.
LOL! You can hear them failing. 2:48. What the hell! Fail.
1987 version is better
hmm..epic fail?
god he was a crap singer back then
+Tyreek Murillo Did you hear the original version??
that's why they looked for a singer and then james improved a lot
