These problems are often chronic, every day, for years, with no end in sight. But chronic use of the drugs mentioned here will tear up your liver over time. A doctor may think it is worth the risk, but the doctor does not have to live with the results.

Keeping disc material off the nerve is the root of my and many others pain. Medicine will not push and keep discs in place and off the nerve. If the muscles are upset they can make things worse. Meds can help with that but not the root cause.
Pain management for me involves keeping a sitting time budget, healthy weight/activity, and PT for life. Fact is for me lifelong PT can and does push the disc back in place which manages the pain. Medicine can not. Decompression and press-ups are a must. This is my experience and knowledge from research.
This channel is excellent. I am amazed how many people are not educated about their back pain. It is pretty simple once you understand about that disc. He must stay in place to keep it off the nerve. PT works people.

    • @chailatte7926
      @chailatte7926 7 лет назад +6

Of course meds won't keep discs in place & off the nerves. No one said that it does. We feel pain with receptors in our brain, not our body which is why pain meds work so well without addressing the actual injury/illness.

What isn't mentioned here is the effect ibuprofin and naproxin have on the kidneys. Because of severe back pain I took 3 ibuprofin per day for a couple of years. This eventually had an effect on my kidneys and now I don't take pain relievers at all. My kidney readings improved but still aren't normal. What does help is physical therapy, gentle yoga and Pilates. And my pain is more manageable than in the ibuprofin days.

First do no harm and it’s just cause they don’t want to get sued. They want to sit there and make the Eppy opiate epidemic a big deal when you know what let’s say a people from African ancestry are you know people with Melanated skin like my late mother, who was full-blown Sicilian And Italian had her first year of probably what most likely the Latino people are going through but that’s just say that all of a sudden opiate awareness became a big thing and I think they were a bit too late because as my father said who is English and Irish in red faced as they come, he said, isn’t it funny he said this 25 years ago I believe that it’s suddenly become a problem and now it was maybe five years ago will be in awareness because all of these rich Ivy League spoiled brats, decided that they wanted heroin instead, and they all did so no one cared one people of African ancestry was OD in on the streets no one cared right and that’s the truth. I don’t like bringing reason to the spot. It was a soon as the white rich young kids from Ivy League schools started dealing with these what were they the OxyContin, and then they went to the heroin, then oh deed because they were probably mixing it with let’s say alcohol or benzodiazepines or maybe got out of jail because of Probation being over and did the same amount like I mean come on obviously they weren’t seasoned enough and I’m not being arrogant here. They had a family that was against the methadone clinic that’s for sure cause I already know a rich kid that was with a family and he is now gone because he ended up doing himself in with every drug and guess what happened? We found out that he was being raped by the priest at the Catholic school that was private every day after school and his father would be late from picking him up. I was wondered why he was just so damn intelligent but he was Adele intelligent in an almost sinister way he take me to raves for the first time this is back when I was that C 23, 2023 years old and I just knew what that techno music is. It was of the devil I went to the rave and a it was just counterfeit water bottles to not be dehydrated when everybody is so messed up and these parents are so ignorant like they really think that people are dancing around sober! So what happens is here I’ve done ecstasy and they say cocaine and heroin already in it so why not try that and then it leads to this and that in these rich white suburban kids end up go to the pills I cannot believe how much a pill went for like I never bought one, but they’re pretty rich to do that but after they expended most of most likely their parents credit cards, which I doubt that you know, I get it and you know the parents would see how sick they were, and then they feel guilty, and I met one and he was falling down drunk like seriously watching a video porn and two girls like gagging on a thing saying look at that they’re all junkies now why would you say that your son would be like that? Is that how you look at yourself? Is that why you’re so drunk on the worst drug on the planet which is alcohol? See it pisses me off because it was really because of the rich white people that didn’t give a shit about their children as long as they made them look good and the children knew it went to the Ivy League school and God introduced started drink it for the first time and had you know got into it and died because they gave up do you know why they gave up? They gave up because the parents were rooting for them to look good and that is not a good parent. Sorry to say so let’s blame those country club parents OK cause it’s not gonna end now it is never going to end. We are in revelation, people, and it doesn’t have to be any religion. I think any religion that believes in good and evil knows that there’s something up! They know it we are all human beings, and we have a holy spirit in us whether you believe it’s Christ or not I believe it is and of course I do I was brought up that way, but I really believe it I know it I know it I know it I know it I know it I know it so the rich doctors they don’t wanna get sued you know how many times I’ve been in the hospital I hear people, moaning and groaning and screeching in agony and it’s all because he’ll sit there and say we gave you enough pain medication to kill an elephant. No obviously you did not because you don’t want to get sued and that’s when that Richter scale ha or the pay level of 1 to 10 what is it if you say 10 you must be a drug addict I hope all these doctors go to hell.

I agree. Good body mechanics, physical therapy so important w/ back problems. I also think there are good supplements available that lubricate the joints, and some that promote healing. Naproxen sodium, over the counter/ prescription are really good. Being a Medicaid recipient, physical therapy ordered by doc only grants 1 visit per year?! Can't we do something to change this? My blood bleeds red just like the more insured. My fellow Medicaid recipients w/ back injuries, shore up,be strong, never give up. Ice is good for pain. Also, to help break high pain cycle, apply ice for 10-15 minutes, immediately following w/ heat for 10-15 minutes. Sometimes moist heat is helpful. Find what works for you. The ER doctors gave me a steroid shot of some kind and a muscle relaxer and some Oxycodone with acetaminophen, and none of it made any difference at all. So I was sent home with no relief. The pain was brutal and would not let up. I had another doctor prescribe a drug called Gabapentin and I started taking it with no results but I keep taking it anyway and on about the fourth day my pain went from a 15 to about an 8. I had a herniated disc that really created crazy pain during night and some sitting positions. Walking was okay, but was never comfortable, - chiro and antiinflammatories didn't seem to help. But, after 2 weeks of pain, a steroid shot in my l4-l5 was super beneficial. Went from 7/8 pain, unable to sleep well, to 0-2. Now, 6 weeks later, about the same, but sense I am getting a bit better. Also, been walking 4-5 miles a day (worked up to that) and PT - pretty much what B+B PT guys recommend and more.

I have bulging disc at L5 S1 that for 10 years gave me chronic pain everyday. I do McGill 3 and Mckenzie 1 daily and walk 45 minutes. I had tried almost every pain killer under the sun. I saw on BBC website that the only antidepressant that is used to treat back pain, out of 176 trials and 30,000 participants, that showed robust evidence of pain reduction was Duloxetine. I checked online and it showed that the side effects from duloxetine prescribed at 60 mg (recommended to doctors by NICE UK) were bad. So I asked my Doctor for 20mg capsules.
The pain almost went overnight and now after 3 weeks i am pain free with minimal side effects.

Example ; if your back hurts plus gives out when you reach to pick something up, damage to the spine must be considered. You can mask the pain with injections, drugs, even therapy ,but the damage can still be getting worse.

Love your videos. I am currently dealing with lower back pain sacroiliac back pain butt pain thigh pain and I have Tronchantric bilateral hip bursitis and am low iron anemic.
I got injured on February of 22 and haven’t worked since. I am about 106 lbs and was lifting to much weight and twisting at my waist repetitively while on a forklift harnessed bending forward and twisting lifting heavy product weighing more then my weight. I’ve been through physical therapy and Iva had a injection for my hip and am scheduled to get the other one done.
    I’ve been going to acupuncture.
And walking around and getting movement but my life has changed dramatically.
I am taking edolac which doesn’t help for back pain - it’s just giving me migraines and keeps me awake now so I’ve made an appointment to review that.
They had me on muscle relaxants.
They have had one MRI which happened after my injury In March which was a long time ago.
And I’ve had x rays where they didn’t find anything they called significant.
My MRI showed disc bulging and degeneration in my lower to my SI joint which is where I feel the most pain.
Also have mild facet hypertrophy which they said is all normal.
I feel pain every single day. I can’t lift weight like I use to without having to drop it because I’m weak and the muscle spasms will activate the second they are tired or overworked.
I have numbing that happens down my thighs and lower back that come and go. I can’t stand for long periods of time without pain.
Going up stairs is WORK - I have to throw my legs up getting up them - it’s so painful.
I have popping happening from my hips and my back all of the time.
They tell me to just co tongue injection therapy but I’m afraid to do that for my lower back as I don’t want a chance to be paralyzed if they insert it wrong or there is a reaction due to it not being evaluated enough for patients.
I am 27 years old. I would love your advice with my current conditions - it’s been hard dealing with the brain fog the weakness the excessive tiredness pain and muscle spasms daily.
I can barely sleep and it’s been a lot on my health being hurt.
I use to be active and be able to stand end twist jump and even leap 10 hours a day but ever since I got hurt I just can’t do anything anymore.

I'm about one year into my second bout of sciatica and it started off really horrible. Went to the doctor and tried a round of prednisone coupled with meloxicam and cyclobenzaprine, which helped greatly when I had a bulging/herniated disc several years ago. This took away the 10/10 pain, but a year later I'm still having pain. However, I've managed to get along with a couple of Tylenol a day usually and only using the meloxicam when it really flares up. I don't understand entirely why the Tylenol works as well as it does considering that it's not an anti-inflammatory, but it works decent enough and seems to be safer long-term than any NSAID. Hopefully by year 2 I can have even more progress.

My doctor prescribed gabapentin for sciatica. I took it and then researched it. It did not help and it fogged up my mind. She also prescribed ibuprofen regularly for months for knee pain. Eventually, my stomach got to hurting and I stopped. Physical therapy fixed my knees. I did not demand pain killers; I generally want to fix a problem, not treat it. I've concluded that today's medicine is all about treating and never fixing. Where's the profit in fixing? Corporate medicine is what has killed good medicine in the US. I no longer trust medical care, even physical therapy, because I feel it's all out to bleed as much money out of me as possible.

@@United-till-i-die I already was on Amitriptyline and it didn't work any better than the Gabapentin does for me. I hope that it helps you though. Feel better 🙂

    Spiritual help:
Revelation 21.4 (KJV) And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
This is what we look forward to if we trust in Jesus Christ.
The world to come is gonna be grand. Don't miss it, keep the hope, and hold onto it, His promises are true.. and this is only one of them, but it's a really good one. Learn of Christ. 👍
Matthew 11.28-30 (KJV) 28 Come unto me, all [ye] that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. 30 For my yoke [is] easy, and my burden is light.

Notice that no one believes in God anymore? You know what I’m gonna keep praying to Jesus Christ. He is the one that performs miracles. It is an Elon musk that puts micro chips and brains. OK? I have had this happened to me twice so far and I really can’t put my finger on it because my back doesn’t hurt. It’s literally down my side and then all the way down to my calf in the back is the sciatica.

  • @arrepuess

So definitely take an anti inflammatory to help begin heeling. But take only as needed? Or take every so often the dose indicates to keep inflammation down? I believe i may have a bulging disc for 7 months now. No damage in lumbar xrays. I suppose its not as bad. I can walk. Mostly sciatica & pain in the butt unless resting a certain way.

Seriously ...I burst L4/5. Fucked around by asshole doctor who said he couldn't see anything wrong...got several opinions from different doctors finally got CT scans which proved what I'd already been telling them...they said I needed physio....went ..did what they said..it got worse....they would not listen when I complained about pain.... finally had enough of being treated like a cunt..so I got a lawyer....had a six year battle with work cover....and still had to look for work... even though I couldn't have worked even if someone would have hired me.....six years of unnecessary and unbelievable pain ...dr appointments.. specialists...job search... physio..court appearances...... fucking arseholes.....if your in pain stick to your guns.....I didn't get any pain relief from this until I finally had surgery....I was on codine tablets ..I was drinking insane amount of piss smoking pot...and still no relief...... surgery. And immediately pain stopped....still have problems with it and find older I'm getting the back is starting to get worse with age ....but now managble with anti inflammation drugs...I wish you luck ..but listen to your body not the fuckers in White coats

Love your videos and you guys are lifesavers! I was wondering what your personal thought on epidural steroid injections for lumbar herniation at L2. Got one planned later this week and quite concerned having needles anywhere around the spine. Thanks guys and keep up the great work!

    • @dawnaustin4556
      @dawnaustin4556 4 года назад +5

Howard Sheckells stay away from any more epidural injection. There is a risk of Adhesive Arachnoiditis and that is tragic. Very few doctors acknowledge this as a possibility. They inject you every 3/6 months and hope that you get better. It’s actually not approved for injection in the spine. My son reacted poorly to the injection pain got worse than before. Go to the Tennant foundation and get info on the risks of steroids injections and how to treat these problems.
