In the summers, i used to basically LIVE at waldameer before we moved (not that long away- just 30 minutes or less). And even by a video, I can smell this all the way.
That’s as hokey as they get 😂. Glad I stumbled into your site. it’s fun to see these old places still operating. I live in Lake George, NY and there used to be a bunch of small amusement parks in short driving distance from here. Storytown (now Great Escape) was the biggest. Most are long gone sadly. Thanks for posting.
I have an episode of Long Gone on the channel that is all about the defunct Lake George stuff! If you want to check it out it's titled "Defunct Roadside Theme Parks of the Adirondacks".
@@RoadsideExplorers I watched ur video. OMG! I was 10 again. My family owned a resort just outside of the Village so the scenes were fun to watch. I serviced most of the swimming pools of the motels pictured. Christy’s ice cream next to the post office is still in operation. Where did you find the footage? That must have taken serious effort. My father was good friends with Charlie Wood and I met him many times as he lived only about 1/2 mile from us. He was a gracious and imaginative man to be certain. I still have some free passes to Gaslight Village and some of the red postcards you lead the piece with. I could spend hours telling stories of every one of the places you sited, having visited many of them multiple times through the years. I took my son to many of them that still operated when he was small. Thanks for posting this fantastic video. It’s so sad that simple friendly era without cynicism passed along with those places. Seeing little kids laughing with their parents at the uncomplicated and genuine displays in those parks was great. Thanks again and keep on posting 🙂.

Great footage. Very surreal and David Lynch like.

It's like living inside a Residents video for 5 minutes
Yes! This pretty much sums up every Bill Tracy attraction!
