The Eleven is too Expensive, the second one looked nice, I have never heard of TIZO but I like that one the best, and I have used Cotz non tinted, and it looked very shiny. Thank You for the video and review.
@brownskinderm, thanks for making this informative video.I am always on the hunt for a good mineral SPF and will look into these. Also, my old faithful is the COTZ Sensitive Skin Untinted SPF 40 Mineral sunscreen. It's definitely shiny, but I have dry skin, so it works for me. I wear Fenty powder over it and it looks great. I am 420 in Fenty for reference and the cast in the COTZ is minimal and tolerable. Also at $27.50, I make it work and it's great for the body, too. I hope you can review it.
EleVen was a nice one! I just couldn’t deal with the dropper application. The COTZ feels like straight Vaseline on my face plus it left a cast that was lighter than my skin, especially around my edges. Couldn’t take it lol. Thanks, Doctor! If they change the dispenser, I’ll try the EleVen again and the other serum.
Try the Ava Isa, it’s a Dupe for sure and the dispenser works better than the one used for the unrivaled sun serum. I think it’s because of the texture
Thanks for the great video! For the Isa/Venus sunscreens, do we need to be concerned about product degradation due to air exposure since the bottles are droppers instead of pumps? How would you rate these sunscreens for sensitive, acne-prone skin?
Thank you for making this video! I've been hunting for a good mineral sunscreen for brown skin with P++++ rating for a couple of years now. I've always been advised that 1/4 teaspoon is the proper amount to apply, but here you've advised that we use 1/2 teaspoon. Is that the manufacturer recommendation of these brands? If not, can you outline why you believe more is needed, please?
Could you please review mineral powder sunscreens? I know the ratio for application is different and would love to hear your thoughts on your favs. Great video!
In my experience, richer formulations of mineral sunscreens that work for darker skin tones are limited in drug stores and more costly. I’m looking for drug store options or more affordable. So what I do is buy the ones I really like during sales on dermstore and amazon.
@@BrownSkinDerm same here, I tried the Hero Cosmetics mineral with a green tint to minimize my rosacea redness and it left me very matte and the white cast didn't disappear until houra later. If I were wearing makeup then it would be the best option to minimize shine.
When I started wearing sunscreen especially tinted spf one of the first ones I tried was Cotz I didn’t like it but I used it bc I didn’t know what other sunscreen to use I was always super greasy and looked SUPER oily 💀 I just now realized how bad I actually looked , I’ve changed to the colorescience sunscreens which are so good 😭 u should definitely try them
@@ayuuu2324 neither , I tried the flex and didn’t like it as much I use the glow and the original but it just depends on your skin tone it will probably not work as well on very deep skin
Thank you for this video. ZnO use is currently banned in livestock and it is being faced out and replaced with other safer alternatives. So, I’m wondering if there could be implications on its use as mineral sunscreen on human skin microbiome? Also the possibility of ZnO absorption into bloodstream, subtle antimicrobial resistance spread in the environment when we wash our face? I’m a bit concerned on the use of ZnO in the mineral sunscreens in humans.
I don’t know about ZnO is being banned in livestock and in what context but as I explained in the beginning of the video, zinc oxide and titanium dioxide in their unaltered molecular state ARE NOT systemically absorbed when applied ON SKIN . Their particle size is too big to be absorbed unless broken down to nano particle or small molecular size that then maybe absorbed through skin and have some antibacterial properties. None of these sunscreens are nano particle sunscreens. Chemical sunscreen filters definitely get absorbed into the blood stream.
@brownskinderm are we putting foundation on top of the mineral sunscreen? Because I don’t see how we could put foundation on first with all the rubbing it takes to get rid of the white cast. My derm said I need to wear mineral sunscreen while I finish a course of meds, but I’m struggling with where in the order it fits 🤷🏽♀️
@brownskinderm what do you think about parfum in sunscreen? I use Nivea protect&hydrate and I love it. It's a drugstore brand and is cheap and leaves almost NO white cast. However, it contains parfum(last product on the list). I use it everyday. Should I discontinue using it ?
I'm not a derm. That being said, what I've read is "parfum" is a complex mixture for up to 3000 different chemicals. So, you just have to decide if you're ok with that.
Love Love love this! I would love to try the sunscreen serums but i cant get past the price point. Have you tried the Native brand sunscreen? Its available at target.
I started off realllyyyy loving this sunscreen but half way through the bottle realized it was making me break out and extremely drying to the skin .. ( currently on accutane ) past the dry skin phase and still was extremely drying leaves a white cast just not worth it in my opinion lol
The new richly tinted one is amazing!
I used the Cotz it's heavy on the silicone but I find the cast very tolerable and it is a good makeup primer.
Thanks for the feedback

Cotz is great when starting tret regimen.

Thanks, that’s a good one. Will definitely work on jt
I agree with all the grades you gave and overall, I would not try any of these. Price point is too high!

I'll try my best to see what options are out there in the drugstore but the last time I checked mineral sunscreens there, I was not impressed.

if you don’t get any irritation from the fragrance then I think it’s fine.

Not yet! Is it a mineral sunscreen?
@@BrownSkinDerm yes ma'am
Can you do one on tinted foundations (with SPF)?
Ok will do one
Hi! Can you recommend mineral sunscreens for dry skin? A lot of sunscreens seem to be made for oily skin.
In the video she says the Tizo sunscreen is really good for dry skin.
Could you review Mustela's mineral sunscreen lotion?
I'll put it on my list of things to review
❤️❤️❤️
