Great video. You're really nailing the key subtleties of that game that people so often miss.

Good info, thanks for the video. I, personally, prefer text guides, but it is great to have such videos around.

I have a hard time believing that any competent opponent would let a game last long enough for you to get out all the cards you have laid out @4:29

The problem with this game is that you only need 3 production worlds to produce-consume a quick victory. This game needs some variations such as removing the x2, make it x1. End the game at 15 played cards, not 12. Endless victory points.

Its a card game it can have whatever variations you want it to.

Those are very bad tips. RftG doesn't reward efficient plays that ignore the opponent and 6-cost devs are definitely not the most efficient cards.
RftG is a game entirely based around leeching, card advantage and ending the game a turn sooner than your opponent would.
Leeching just 2 actions is essentially getting a free turn and you could easily leech more than that. A well placed 2-cost card can easily score you 6 to 8 points by itself and because you'll play it early on, it will even block your opponent's actions. That's a VP to cost ratio of 4 to 1. In order to get that ratio out of 6-cost devs, you need to score 24 points out of it alone. Do you ever score even 16 points through 6-cost devs? I don't think so.

P.S. Trade League is BY FAR the best 6-cost development as it has the best leeching/lockdown and scores ridiculous amount of points consistently. You'll often find that in a pure development build Galactic Federation will actually score much lower than Trade League. So not only is it not bad, it's probably the best card in the game. There's statystical analysis on many sites which confirm that this is one of the most played cards at high ranks and one of the most underplayed cards at lower ranks.

@@whatshendrix Yeah, cards like Trade League can be so powerful at leeching they force your opponent off their strategy because you get more from their phase then they do.
