That's an old trick at the end of his video: to thank people for a quality that you want from them. "Thanks to everyone for... and above all else, the loyalty!". I think if he stopped using it, it could potentially even increase his audience. People like to see how change affects others. I think a large amount of his audience would be interested in seeing how the discontinuation of his usage would impact him physically, mentally, personality changes etc. I know I'd watch at least a few of his videos after his discontinuation just to see how he's holding up after the fact.
My boyfriend is into the bodybuilding scene, has been for a long time. He and I share the same sentiment; Liver King made his insecurities everyone else’s problem by lying and scamming money from his already insecure audience, selling a fantasy that he himself couldn’t live up to. I don’t have a problem with steroids, but I do have a problem with being a dysmorphia peddler
Yeah. Liver King is the Andrew Tate for bodybuilders. He's the kind of guy who ends up having his "soul" left out of his body like that one Regular Show episode.
Y'know, it's actually super ironic that The Liver Kings apology around lying to benefit the men that are having physical and mental struggles that are helped by fitness of this level, actually will probably make things a lot worse for people who do try to stay natty, (with this image being yanked away from being a goalpost, however unattainable) as well as people who were genuinely looking at these sorts of hormones and drugs to try and get that image (by further vilifying the use of drugs, by painting them as something shameful, to be hidden.) It's really sad and totally contradictory of his claimed purpose in a very deep level.
Let me just say in a more broad context decriminalization of drugs in my state has not helped the drug problem whatsoever and that's coming from someone who even voted for it. Their are more people on the streets, more kids growing up without parents, more crime, more OD's, and suicides than ever! It exploded after the decriminalization exponentially people just do drugs out in the open with no worry. No need to get clean as theirs no consiquence. No time spent in jail detoxing out giving you time to reflect and see reality ; taking away a contact point to give people information on programs to get help. This is a short summery theirs for more details than I mentioned to go into I just wanted to give my 2 cents. I wish decriminalization would have worked like we all dreamed it would. Decriminalization sounds appeasing and other places around the world have pulled it off but, that just doesn't work the same for everywhere. It's sad but, true.
@@GAB-vq7re Yeah, decriminalization doesn't just fix everything. And he always admited he was on gear, i mean it was obvious anyways since he is freaking huge but it's nice to find someone thats obviously on roids and not lying about it because nowadays every single "fitness influencer" is on roids but they will claim they are 100% natty and just eat your average chicken and rice when their body clearly tells otherwise

This is the true influence of what Social Media is capable of. You can spread any message you want and there will be people out there who will blindly follow you. It's like mini internet hive minds.
I mean, anyone who gets into power lifting / body building should be able to tell he isn't natural after a week or so of going to the gym and talking to people, without even needing to research it.
This admission and reasoning is on a similar level as that speedrunner who got busted faking his Mario 64 run and said something along the lines of it being fake on purpose
Anyone with half a brain cell could know there's nothing natural about how this man looks. I'm just surprised it's taken this long for him to get exposed.
If he would’ve came out earlier everyone would have understood him and he would have even more respect for doing that. A great example of this is Noel Deyzel, who has a massive following and influence but makes it clear he is not natty. Being fake natty is not good, especially when you’re pushing your own product claiming that’ll make you have a naturally unobtainable body
Honestly, this is probably going to boost his business even more. Because he now has an excuse to never talk about this again. He won't lie, but also won't repeat this ever again. If anyone ever says "you're not natural" then he can say it was not a secret and he's admitted it already.
He should have just done that from the very beginning... People are pretty open with steroid use these days in the fitness industry and you still have to work really hard on top of what you are taking to get his physique.

The cut in the middle of Charlie's passionate rant is unironically comedy gold
I miss being 17 years old and thinking my favorite physiques are natural. It's scary to think how much of an impact his lie had on people who didnt know better.
17 years old was when I started really digging into bodybuilding and realized how most bodybuilders aren't natty
I think what's equally scary is people having role models that claim to be natty when they're not, and when those people get ousted for being on juice, everyone (who didn't look up to the person) says "I thought everyone knew he wasn't natural / I'm more shocked to believe people thought he was natural".
It just sounds so dismissive.. these people are marketing and lying about themselves, so there are *bound* to be people who aren't in the fitness industry to believe it. Not everyone is an educated fitness youtuber able to notice all the tells and signs of PD usage, so seeing everyone say "I thought it was obvious" feels disrespectful to the ones whom actually were duped. Noel Deyzel is a fine example of what would have happened had liver king admitted his ped use and continued giving life advice and workout advice
Noel is a true humble king, he never tries to pose as a “badass” a “king” or wathever “primal” bs liver king poses
He didn’t apologize.
He said “I did this for you guys!!!”
"I never expected this kind of exposure" - meanwhile his email explicitly states that the liver king persona was made in order to gain a million followers.
I just have zero respect for people who use steroids or PED’s🤷♂️
