    Looking good Marty! I agree changing track layout really adds to the fun and interest...........I know you probably know this but even for 1/32 cars the shoulders really make the track pop, big time..........My 1/32 cars use all the shoulder at times. Nobody is using a guard rail to keep them on track ..............and the guard rails become not so necessary...........by the time the car deslots and hits them it isn't going so fast.........I got tired of fiddling with expensive carrera railing and use the clip on poster board like you have done in spots..................................I dont surround the whole track with the carrera shoulders,just the corners and coming off the corners where cars are still sliding..............I run some carrera cars no magnet and they slide a lot....................I agree on the slot it cars not staying on some parts of track...........they come on like a rocket and really go flying at times...............many more hours of work are needed on my slot it cars............but I made progress today with them.

    I love the layout, what's your table size. I am a rookie just like you. Only been involved form 5 months. I find it so difficult to come up with layout ideas.
    I have a 8ft X 16ft table setup in my garage now.

      My table is 8x20. The layout is a blast to drive! I agree.. I start designing and get frustrated because it all looks the same.. but this layout started out pretty fast but wasn’t very technical.. it is now a good mix of both..

    Love your track (well what I can see of it) Very interesting topic and answered a lot of questions I’ve been having. One (hopefully constructive) criticism, turn the camera around so we can see the track and what you’re talking about. Your body is blocking view. Not malice intended… keep the faith!

    I would like to know what the original slot car kit you started with before you expanded it. And did you have to manually input your kit first before you expanded with the software? Thx for the vid.

    • @twolinesslotcars
      @twolinesslotcars 2 года назад +1

      I started with the GT Battle Kit.. then expanded from there. The software doesn’t need to know anything about your layout except you can add your track length and it will calculate scale speed. That is not required. It is a nice feature. We just kept buying track pieces and adding on to the layout. The layout is now 100 feet/ 30 meters.

    I think you had nailed with your first layout. To be a newbie that was a great layout...now the new one looks like a...newbie layout aka "How can I squeeze all my track on the table, putting all my R1s and hiding as much track under bridges" ;-)
    As I said, your original layout is good...if you find it too "boring" get rid of magnets which will make you drive your layout more.

    • @twolinesslotcars
      @twolinesslotcars 2 года назад +1

      I appreciate the comment and you are correct.. I had a ton of track left over and thought.. how do I integrate some of that back into the track.. but now that I added the track.. and have driven on it for the past few weeks.. we love it! We can always go back to the old layout. This layout is making us better drivers. I do not like to hide track under bridges.. which this lay out has two spots that I had to work on to make better.. We are working our way to no magnets.. Thanks Giovanni!

      @@kevoman2020 I have approximately 97 feet of track on my table. I could squeeze more, but I don't care for tracks that have track on top of track.. makes it difficult to marshal. I see so many that have two long straights on one side.. one on top of the other. I understand if you lack space but still want a longer track.. but I am not a fan of those layouts personally.
