Keane fan since I was 5-6 years old in 2004 Sounds of my childhood. It shaped me and my outlook on the world very much. I’m now 25 and it still consoles me more than any other rock band’s sound, rock music that puts its arms around you really. Love that line “I’m a man I was born to hate” not too many rock bands have a sense of vulnerability and tenderness like Keane do, too much gangly manly rock music and not enough self recognition like that.
Since Perfect simmetry, Jesse Quin was included in the band, first as a tour helper, and about strangeland, as an oficial member :^) (if I remember correctly)
I'm often attracted to songs by the feel of the music. It was certainly the case with this one. It's only after hearing the music repeatedly that I started listening to the lyrics. It's one of my favorites on my "Chill" playlist.
The Killers are 4 pierce rock band (frontman, Brandon Flowers, the guitar David, base and drummer). Earlier career (first two albums were big hits in 2004 - 2007 with more focus on guitar rock with some synthesizer) and after it became more pop rock with keyboards presence. Their music is catchy, dramatic, 80's influence, well written songs, great vocals, fantastic on stage, etc.
Yes I recommend two songs already but again Somebody told me and All these things I have done. Both songs are from the first album like Mr. Brightside.
If all you think about is his drug addiction when you hear a dark or sad song, your mind will find a way to relate them to drug addiction. Even this one which was written from the perspective of an airman in wartime. Tom doesn't write the songs and his personal problems he had in the past should not define Keane's music.
The song is inspired by a poem by W.B Yeats about an Irish airman pilot during the First World War who is taking in his surroundings and foresees his imminent death.
Gooday Wally, thank you for your wonderful comments about Keane....and great reaction. Keane may be underrated in North America ...and I was still lucky to enjoy their live performance three times here in Japan....but fan base did not grow as much as I would have wanted. Anyway...hope you can continue your journey on Keane.....now...you just mentioned about the Killers...and actually it is one my top 5 rock bands of all time...and hope you can do reaction to Killers ... Mr. Brightside was a big hit and you may have listened to this song by now.....The Killers are big band from Las Vegas however they had strong fan base in UK which is a rare case....If you have already listened to Mr.Brightside, recommend "All these things I have done" or "For reasons unknown" to start with...
I think that Keane is underrated because it didn't get as much airplay if they had gotten as much exposure as say Coldplay they would have been huge I'm not really sure why they didn't get the exposure they deserve to get.
This resonates. For me it is the longing of the lost love from the past to comfort me now, as this person understood me then like no one could now. In "Try Again" this comes out as: "God, I wish you could see me now / You'd pick me up, and you'd sort me out" There's a precious person in my past, from my home town, I had not thought about in years, until I started listening obsessively to this song. And I know they would be sad to see the struggles I've gone through as an adult. Though I will never surface again in their life, I know they would understand and comfort me through it...and this is enough.
Hey Iveta, no worries about your English ! It's even better than mine ! lolll. I Already reacted to "Nothing In My Way" ! Go check out my channel ! Have a great day !
@@wallyscrib6282 Ohhh, thank you very much, of course I will look for it, I am somewhat entertaining, thank you for loving Keane and reacting to them and have a good day too.
I bought both Hopes And Dreams and Under The Iron Sea at the same time 15 years ago. The first record was my favourite and the second one was a bit meh, so I didn't listen much to it. Then some years later I picked it up again, and it just hit me HARD. It went on heavy repeat for weeks and months. This tune was the climax of it.
On another note, I'm not a fan of rap music but if you say this is really great why don't you do not a reaction but a review an analyzation of one of his songs to educate us.
@@wallyscrib6282 I would give it a shot can't hurt, personally I don't know much about rap I only know the stuff that I grew up with in the late eighties early '90s. I could use some enlightenment.
This is my all time favourite Keane song, it's incredible!
yeah its just magical...one of my all time favorite songs.
Mine too. Really feeling those lyrics today!
Got me through a divorce.
Only thing I don't like is when he talks about fighting. It's very repetitive and doesn't flow well.
Under the Iron Sea, one of the best albums of my lifetime.
2024 anyone????
Wally where are you??? Come on......
This whole album is a work of art....❤🎵🎶👍
musicians are pure such true geniuses. accessing deep parts of all of us. few bands reach this level.

It’s a re-write of a poem called “an Irish airman foresees his death”
For me this song is the best of Keane's songs, comment from France
Keane is 🔥 Great great band! NF is one of my favorite rappers out there! His music is deep. You know good music 🤝
Hopes and Fears is their best record by far.

They're releasing Dirt EP in July so yes, new Keane music is coming! 🥳☺️

It's about a soldier in the war fighting in a country he doesn't know for countries he doesn't know. Like the British did from 1940-1942 on their own
Subscribed cause I like your personality 😊
Thin Air..please😊👍
Truly it is beautiful
Please Wally react to walnut tree by keane. It's a true poetry ♥️🎶🎵
Amazing song!!! Love it!!! ❤️🎹🎶🎵
Great reaction Wally!!!
Please react to walnut tree is a Masterpiece...
Is similar to Atlantic for me...
For me this song is about losing true love

Hey Gina ! I could do that ! But I'm afraid I won't interest my usual crowd...What do you think ?
