      All but those 2 little issues. Major one being a little too tight against the tank. But that’s the beauty with prototyping these with 3D printing first 👍🏻

    The 3d part almost seems to be anodized black, wonder how resistant it is. Always a pleasure to watch these custom builts.

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  4 года назад +1

      Considering It’s just a plastic prototype that one. Could look anodised. Unfortunately not strong enough.

    Are the pinch bolts for the fork tubes in the back? How are you going to access them once on the bike?

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  4 года назад +1

      You have clear access to them. Just turn the steering slightly.

    • @robertos4172

      @@forthebold I hope that still applies with the tank on.

    • @forthebold

    Very nice! Definite visual improvement from the original, though perhaps not as stiff? You've probably decided on the centre clamp arrangement but I just thought there might be an option to put 2 smaller clamp bolts there rather than 1 big one, that would match the fork clamp bolts and you wouldn't have to add a bit more meat around the bolt housing? Whatever, it looks great!

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  4 года назад +1

      I think the thickness probably makes it as rigid as the original. Plus the original has a lot removed from the underneath.

    What a fantastic tool that 3D printer is - every workshop should have one! What finish are you planning on - bare machined aluminium or will you anodise it black? For the Ghost logo, have you thought about laser etching rather than engraving. I've used PHP Laser Technology in Havant before and their work is excellent (check out their website). Will you also be 3D printing the cambelt covers too? By the way, it's clear to see you've spent too much time in the States - "triple trees" indeed. This isn't "American Chopper" you know! 😉

    • @forthebold
      @forthebold  4 года назад

      I’m going to have the ‘for the bold’ lazered as it think that’s too small for cnc. It’s just going to be left bare aluminium so that the parts stand out more. Including the cam belt covers.

    To ride with that printed part wiult be highly dangerous. I hope nobody actually does this. There are several forces coming together and undesired flex and not calculable weaknesses...
