In a video posted on ig alexis said that the label didnt really know how to market her (which we can see and is similar to what you mentioned). And she also said that she was starting to become someone she wasnt raised to be. So she asked God to give her a sign if the music career wasnt for her and eventually she got released from her label. And like you mentioned she is religious, so yk when God gives you a sign and answers your questions, its best to listen. But i mean she’s doing well for herself. And her kids are gorgeous 😍 and soo smart.
Her record label definitely sabotaged Alexis's music career and it makes me so mad. 😡 She is so talented and I feel that people didn't take her so seriously which breaks my heart and she is so good. Her voice is so beautiful 😔😔♥️♥️

Alexis Jordan must come back to the music industry and till this day, I still listen to her music .I really do think that she does have alot of potential but her record label failed to promote her. She is such an amazing artist, however I do feel that some of her songs are too generic. The music industry has failed Alexis Jordan because I feel that her talent was wasted by these useless record labels and I think she should return to the music industry and show her talent and creativity. She should return to the music industry and showcase her talent.
Well Alexis was only 17/18 at the time of her release so her T-shirt and jeans style was practical as was Rihanna’s when she came out back in 05 but she was and still is way too conservative for the genre she was placed in (pop/dance). You’re absolutely right when it comes to placement, her voice is more r&b/soul/emo/gospel/Christian rock type. These records companies with their type casting need to stop.
Good point, back then the girls looked very clear cut. That was just the style they went for. I can imagine she didn't have much control overall on her style or sound. She was a new artist.
7:38 Oh yeah, Rihanna, Jennifer Lopez and Britney Spears ruled 2011! Actually it was a year when I was 10 and it was the first time in my life I started listening to music- those were indeed Rihanna, JLo and Britney whom I was listening to all the time. I loved 2000s-early 2010s era when pop music was so girlish and dance-pop-like. The domination of EDM music around 2009-2015 was also lit for me! I just heard for the 1st time Acid Rain from Alexis and I think it's a great club song really reminiscent of 2013's female dance-pop music. I agree that her music might have been too generic though + there was too much competition in the industry- other girls born in 1992 had been actually ruling the charts at that time with the same-like music- Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, Miley Cyrus. It was a lost cause right from the start.
Great video. Happiness is such a bop it gives me so much nostalgia. Alexis Jordan is so beautiful and talented I do wish she kept on releasing music but as long as she’s happy that’s what matters. Maybe the pressure and fame was abit too much for her and she just wanted to live a more low-key life away from all the glitz and glam..who knows.
She chose God over the devil that’s what happened. She mentioned in one of her Instagram live videos 😁 she didn’t sell her soul like the rest of these musicians
I really appreciate how informative you are about each person you talk about. And how you inform what was trending in that era when they were making music. What I think went wrong with Alexis also with a lot of young artist; they don't have good mentors. It's not what you know it's who you know. Especially if you're tryna make it in the music industry. And I feel like parents (family) hold a lot of young artist back from tapping into their full potential. Because they feel they know what's best for them.

Alexis Jordon was really good singer with great talent her music videos were awesome she would of made big hits with lots great collaborations with other singers... I would love to see her to make a return
So I'm seeing a pattern....jay z spot someone that could compete with beyonce'....signs them, hold them on the label, giving them the run around until they ask to be released or is dropped. By that time beyonce' has skyrocketed so much, it'll be too hard to catch up. No wonder beyonce pulls in 24 hrs. It's a lot of work to keep the number one spot.
They moved fast with Alexis at first. I think the material they gave her held her back. Her voice is way too big to sing the kind of generic songs she released. From the way, she has completely stopped releasing music even after leaving Roc, makes me think she saw things that made her feel like singing wasn't worth it. It takes a special kind of new artist to survive on Roc Nation. If you aren't the J.Cole type to put in work on your own, with or without the label's help, it's not going to work. Thank you for watching!

I understand that the best speeches are scripted, but it's too obvious you're reading it, and it's only a problem because it makes the speech unnatural, boring and monotone. Plus you don't pause between sentences sometimes, which is an issue because we need just a bit of time to completely process a sentence before we move on to the next.
