This video offers a concise comparison between porcelain and ceramic tiles, helping viewers make informed decisions for their bathroom renovations. Great resource for anyone navigating tile options!
Is there any difference in the porosity of the tiles? You mention the need to seal porcelain. Does this mean it is more prone to picking up and retaining water? Also, on average, are porcelain tiles more prone to bowing during manufacture? Many thanks for your videos!
Great video! I'm looking at some ceramic tiles from the Spanish brand Metropol Ceramica for shower walls and this vid is so useful. The tiles I want have a rough textured effect and I wonder if that could be problematic in terms of cleaning/mould? But they're far less textured than the moulded 3D ones you showed at 1:28, so I'm assuming they're OK over the long term?
I have what seems like glass tiles, we had 2 slip and falls , which my son had to get stitches after falling and wacking his face off granite counter top.Even when we shower the condensation gets on floor which is dangerous. I do have 2 mats now but there is still areas of possible slips. Is this type of tile ideal for a bathroom floor. And are slips common on tiles.
Yes, tiles are tiles but if you get the really cheap thin ones they can crack easily. The most important thing is what kind of adhesive you use. Make sure your tile adhesive is rated for getting submerged in water.
I've just realised I've tiled my bathroom walls with porcelain tiles but used a ceramic ready mixed adhesive. Am I going to be in the sh1t? Just finished and it all looks great just hope that they don't all fall off 😞
Hi Bradley, ok, that’s suboptimal really. You won’t get the bond required for porcelain and the flexibility they need. What you might find is that the bond breaks over time and they may pop from the wall (depending on the substrate and if water gets behind). Fingers crossed they’ll be ok buddy. Take care.
It really depends on which finish you choose. There are high gloss finish Porcelain tiles that would be considered slippery, but if you chose a matte/textured finish it would be fine.

Thanks so much!! So nice to get a positive response ❤
Well explained
Great practical tips.
Thanks very clear concise
Very informative, so in general rule Ceramic goes to wall and Porcelain goes to floor?
Thanks for the video!

Really informative mate ! Wish I had watched this before I did my last bathroom 😂😂
Thanks buddy! 👍🏻
What do you mean sealing for the porcelain tile? How is it sealed?
Do we need to soak the ceramic tiles in water before installing it? thank you.
Great tips mate! I guess I will go for porcelain tiles for a kitchen floor. Esp now that you mention the rating.
Totally mate, just bullet proof! Hope it all goes well. 👍🏻
Thanks
Awesome vid ! So is any ceramic tile ok for around the shower and the areas that will get wet ?

Hi, thanks for the tips, very helpful.. Are porcelain tiles good for underfloor heating? And can you recommend any underfloor heating as well please?
I got a white porcelain matte finish tiles but for some reason it has this yellowish hue to it...does anyone know why??
Pro.
Porcelain on floors... ceramic on walls.
I it slippery
