Burmese Mountain, german Shepherds and Golden Retrievers are some of the best and most lovable dogs on the planet. They just have a natural loving nature about them and are the greatest with children.
The best "trick" I ever taught my BMD was "Where's your boy?" At which point he would go to my son (6months to 10 years) sit and bark If you yelled it and he was out of sight with "his boy" he would sit beside him and bark Not much "training" needed...it's a function that is pretty much pre-programmed into that wonderfully vacant brain Very handy as my son grew up...especially around the cabin or when hiking/camping Just a game when the kid is less than six...you kinda should know where they are without help (Kinda...but....my dog never threw guilt...or told on me) And really handy when the kid starts getting independent Oh...and get a cart/wagon for the dog to pull your kid in on walks to the dog park Even in the rain and snow I'm not sure who enjoyed that more, the dog or the kid "Ok lads!....saddle up....daddy needs his walk"
