We biked(cycle) this stretch. Was a lot of fun. Early morning and late evening has high probability of Elephant contact, so we avoided that time on the road. People who want to make contact, go during these times to see the elephant. As bikers, our safety protocols called for avoidance of contact. From the roads it was clear that Elephants are a plenty there. Places near Valparai has also got many elephants. There's many other wild life as well. Like the leopard.

Simple formalities, get the vehicle details slip from vazhachal check post , reveal the plastics, liquor bottles not allowed and keep the timing to pass malakkappara check post, other wise will get fine(I think ₹2000)

High decibel sound irritates elephants. If your exhaust roars above 84 decibels, you are flouting the law. 84 decibel is for cities/villages. It should be much less in forest areas. Animals have a right to peaceful life. They have a right to defend too. Don't play music loudly either. You may notice that many music software on the web are set to 89 decibels. It should be played at still lower decibels in jungles. Give the animals too some space.

I dont think the factory exhaust hurts their ears much.
But the exhaust of all the bikes are custom in this video.
Elephants have poor eyesight but excellent hearing. Honking the horn at a lone bull elephant will provoke it to charge.
