Love hearing history of candy. I'm from UK. The likes of a future video Lemon heads I've never heard of before but will definitely be bought online in the new year.
That's because most people have never had a Gros Michel banana, which is what the flavor of Laffy Taffy banana candy (and most other artificial flavored banana candies) are based on. You can get them online from South America.
Interesting bit of info: Artificial grape flavor comes from a chemical called methyl anthranilate. The same compound is also commonly used as bird repellent. And honestly... I get it, birds. I totally get it.
@@ditzykunoichiYeah, from what I've heard, they were the most common banana before a blight wiped them out, so that's why most banana candies are based on them.
I just thank you for not promising to do push-ups for the number of likes. I feel like there's some dude out here that owes a billion push-ups to random internet people.
This is my current favorite candy. My other favorites were discontinued over the years. I used to love sweetart gummies (not the current form, whatever those are, but the kind with the sour dusting that came in the shape of bugs) and before that I loved shocktarts. I wish those would come back instead of whatever misguided versions of them they have now.
I bet most kids didn't know taffy existed before laffy taffy, I only learned this because regular taffy was mentioned in the buzz light-year tv show... weirdly enough
Salt Water Taffy! I remember a various color flavoured tast treat wrapped in wax paper. Came in rolls and slices. I saw the machines that streatched it and rolled it. Unfortunately Laffy Taffy has or hopefully doesn’t have an ingredient in it many may not be aware causes the walls of the blood stream to thicken and form constrictions over time. I quit eating it. The ingredient was substituted for an unstable oil to add shelf life to this candy but has no nutritional value since this shelf life oil can not be broken down, it is absorbed into the walls and membranes in the vein and arteries where it forms plaque. My Mom introduced me to the non fatal taffy that most may have forgotten about. True I don’t know the whole story about that taffy.

The banana flavor is so synthetic, it's amazing what chemicals can do:)

This channel is a hidden gem. I predict 1 million subscribers total in the next 24 months. (Real)

Whether it's Laffy Taffy or salt water taffy, taffy is a yummy treat. Another instant classic in the books, nicely done Ryan 👍🏽😎👍🏽

Ate nearly an entire bag of laffy taffy when I was 15 surprisingly with no ill effects. Haven’t touched the stuff in more than 30 years since… 😂
You’re probably still digesting it lol
You at the end trying to talk while eating taffy 🤣🤣🤣
Laffy taffy is by far my favorite form of Taffy.
Thanks!
Thank you for watching!

Laffy Taffy: Destroyer of Grills
I didn't know the wonka candy was discontinued during the transaction. Crazy to think that happened.
Great, now I want some.
Probably one of the few candy brands that had a #1 Billboard Hot 100 song named after it.
Cherry is my favorite

I love Laffy Taffy, but I love my expensive dental work more.
Laffy Taffy 🍬💞
Going into nfts is always a bad idea. It pisses off the consumer
Toffee will always be mocha or coffee flavored/type of chocolate to me
