- Burger King, originally founded as Insta-Burger King in 1953 by Keith J. Kramer and Matthew Burns in Jacksonville, Florida, experienced a pivotal transformation in 1954 when Miami-based franchisees James McLamore and David Edgerton acquired the struggling company and rebranded it as Burger King. They introduced the iconic Whopper sandwich in 1957, which became a cornerstone of the menu and brand identity. Through various ownership changes and strategic international expansions, Burger King grew to become the second-largest fast-food hamburger chain globally. Known for its flame-grilled burgers and the slogan "Have It Your Way," the company has continually adapted to evolving consumer tastes while maintaining its core offerings. Today, Burger King operates thousands of locations worldwide, emphasizing innovation and customer choice in its menu offerings.

If you look closely you'll notice in the Thumbnail old school Logo, the King's Feet are standing on the Lettuce. It's a longstanding Burger King Tradition.
You have to stand on something or you’ll fall for anything.
@USNVA11 stand on bidnezz like T.i son 😂😂😂
I accidentally tried to order a Big Mac the other day at Burger King after work. The girl just laughed, "you mean a Whopper?" I didn't even realize I said it. "Did I say Big Mac??" She laughed again. I apologized and replied "I'm not even high!" She said it happens all the time and I made her day. Mistakes were made...🍔🤷🏼♂
Please make the White Castle video. Thanks again for all you're content.
Sorry to be that guy, but it’s actually your
I second this request. While living in Prague, I had an apartment on a street that was named after the capital of Serbia which translated into English comes out to be White Castle.
$1.39 CAD Whoppers during the mid to late 90s. The newspaper would also have "buy one get one free" whopper coupons once a month lol
Man, watching this made me hungry. Another super cool video Ryan 👍🏽😎👍🏽🍔
The closest Burger King to my high school had a plaque on it proclaiming it was the first Burger King in Illinois. I never bothered to question that fact until watching this story. Paused the video to read the article and, sure enough, first one opened in Skokie, Illinois. It was located at 8225 Skokie Boulevard. Today it's an Enterprise car rental.
Great to see your take on the King and burger history in general. Other videos on yt specifically cite Texas's own Whataburger as the inspiration of the Whopper.
I remember Whoppers were only a Dollar in 1992
Wow...I'm only 35!!!
Interesting topics. Subscribed
Very impressive and comprehensive history of BK; Kudos! I had my first Whopper in August of 1966 (for $0.37) and was amazed at the taste & size of the Whopper. Made me very thankful I lived in a country that gave me this experience and value. However good things don't last and two months later BK raised the price a nickel to $0.42, so I was hooked and now I had to pay; cruel lesson for an 11yo. Seriously, the Whopper is a sandwich that I've enjoyed for decades, save for a few years when there was an alternative, called the Dandy Burger (Yankee Doodle restaurants). I still look forward to eating a Whopper, however the experience of buying a Whopper is severely degraded. Hopping very much that BK can get its feet back under itself
AWESOME VIDEO!!!!!!!!!!!
hurricane andrew hit south florida in 1992
Thank you! I was in kindergarten in Jacksonville Florida when Hurricane Andrew hit in 1992
I did get a small chuckle out of "the good times couldn't last" right after the 9/11 bit. I know you didn't mean anything but I couldn't help notice
The Whopper is still my favorite basis fast food burger.
Certainly didn't expect to see a shot of dayton ohio .. props
I'd love to subsist on a White Castle diet but I doubt I'd be "completely fine"!
I remember 99 cent Whoppers in the late 90's and the only reason I would eat there
"somtimes you have to brake the rules" ad with Ben Aflek.
Betton, Burton, Dustin & Osborn?? No way. I worked at BBDO. It's Batten, Barton, Durstine & Osborn. The Burger King logo was on the company phone directory.
Burking King is almost dead in the province of Quebec and they merged with Tim Horton's in Canada
There are no Burger King restaurants in Manhattan.
My hometown BK shut down... 👀
I like the Whopper, F the Big Mac!
Rob Base and DJ EZ Rock y'all 👍🏽😎👍🏽
Impossible Whopper Wednesdays FOREVER!!!!
Am I the only Floridian to point out the fact that I was in kindergarten when Hurricane Andrew hit in 1992? Not 1999 like the video says?
Edit: I'll give them credit, it was just a misspeak
4:59 - Pepsi-Cola? ??
McDonald's has always been a best friend of Coca-Cola, I thought.
The Burger King fast food chain opened in Springfield, Ohio twice:
Burger King operated under the name "Home of the Whopper" in the 1970s, since an existing burger stand using the "Burger King" name already existed and lasted until 1985.
Burger King tried Springfield, Ohio again in 1993 under the Burger King name after the local Burger King chain was long-gone.
burger boy origins
Burger King is going under they can't afford to upgrade to automated/robotic/kiosk/smart phone service
I❤BK
Wish their service time inpproved
Burger King’s greatest flaw nowadays is inconsistency. You never know what you’ll get.
A fresh whopper is great, but I have gotten them looking like they were worn as a shoe
BK > McD
Burger is not the name of the meat patty...the Germans call them Frikadellen...it's the style of food (a bun featuring cooked hot meat with other fillings) invented by the people of Hamburg...a person from Hamburg is called a Hamburger hence the name...this is similar to the Berliner bun...a doughnut without the hole, filled with fruit sauce or custard and drizzled with icing. The origins are from Berlin and a person from Berlin is called a Berliner.
Hungry Jacks anyone??
An Australian RUclipsr reminded me that a Canadian may have have done that, hungry Jacks and Burger King.
🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔🍔 1st
The whopper used to be good. I will never let my myself or family eat anything from Burger King.
3:55 *with the asterik that in 2018 trump allowed beef/pork products to allow up to what was it like 20% (used to be like 10% which is still gross. F those corperations profits) feces, hair, fingernails etc?
And i have no clue if biden switched that back, bc hes playing mario kart but fell asleep.
Point being, all burgers might be way worse than they were even back then lol
U must make sheep nervous.
Burgers. Are. Not. Sandwiches. If it’s on a burger bun, it’s a BURGER.
A sandwich is any ingredients on bread and a bun is a type of bread. You’re wrong.
I don't know how burger king is still as big as they are. Their food taste awful now and they're so stupidly expensive, app sucks too. Haven't gone to BK since like 2010.
It honestly tastes great if you throw it in the microwave for another 30seconds lol. Just seems they never cook stuff enough.
Them chicken fries kick too
In Australia Burger King is called Hungry Jack's
Isn't KFC just K'fers?
@@jacobwhipple7848 lol what?
