That’s the track I use to go to as a Kid. My dad worked on his friends sprint car team so I use to go to the races all the time.
Nice Job
Seat time is the main thing you need, glad you got to run all 30 and did some passing. Great run Tanner. I raced Dirt Karts for about 5 years and learned way more staring 15th and passing then I ever did staring near the front.
Seat time is one thing. Bad habits are another. He said the track has tight turns. That is not correct. That statement he made must be why he constantly pitched it into one. He thought the turns were tight. They're far from it.
Pitching into one was such a bad idea he edited most of his entries into one out of the video. Google the track. Those are wide radius turns and pitching scrubbs speed there. It scrubbed so much speed that he just rode around the back.
I'm a subscriber but I'm also a critic. That's how we learn. He needs to drive the car in straight, let it rotate on it's own and if it doesn't tap the brakes lightly, it'll turn. He'll have better luck when he returns because he'll have ... more seat time. I hope he reads this and learns from it. There's no reason to be offended.
when we visit my wife's relatives there, they live very close. I like to listen to the races in the evening. Never managed to make it to an actual race. Thanks and best wishes
To much heat in that motor son, keep it under 240, you need more fuel, it will cool the motor down and make a little more power
You are right. I was saying the same thing. Plus they need to find more horse power.
With the humidity you were obviously faced w/ last week feeding it a little more timing should help the power as well as the temperature issue (EGT's for sure) . In the Midwest any nearby cornfields will also add to the water grains (humidity) in the air this time of summer esp. after sunset making the corrected air that much worse requiring more timing . Mother nature's water injection , eh?
I run mine around 190/200 I would be pulling in at 240🔥💨
We put more fuel to the motor then we ever have…
Called up the engine builder as well. Just been having some problems lately
Dude. That was bloody AWSOME. Just imagine how much better you'd have run without the wing issue. Anyhow, it was so much fun to watch, I think I'll go do it again.
🍺😉👍CHEERS!
Man this was awesome! Great race...Cool track for sure....well not literally but was a rad race to watch. Glad you hung inthere and got a good feel for it. Proud of you Tanner! Keep it up. You got this.
Just to knowing you're young, learning to drive against great drivers & really good teams, is an awesome accomplishment in itself, but more than that, when you do your summation at the end of the video (what you learned) it becomes a tremendously helpful exercise in reviewing your performance, helping you to adapt to changing conditions, tuning the car, & so many infinite levels of experience. Please know, I'm proud of you.
Raced at Madera Speedway (Ca) back in the 80’s. Now living in Taipei, Taiwan and just found your site. Great presentation….looking forward to the next clip. Keep up the good work!
Another great run Tanner, proud of you buddy!
a big fast track, and you SAW THE CHECKERED FLAG FROM A RUNNING STILL IN THE RACE CAR!!! that's a WIN WIN WIN !!! :) you got the experience and the time in the seat running flat out (well nearly?) anyhow .... right on! CONGRATS!!!
I've said this before, but every time you put a camera on you, in the cockpit, I'm just amazed. I've driven most types of racecars at least once. Mostly Street Stock, and Late Model, and E-mods. Except for a few laps at practice one night in my buddies non-wing 600 Mini-sprint, the E-mods probably comes closest, because of 500 HP, but you only have an 8 inch tire. I'm still amazed at "up on the wheel" you have to be in one of those things. Your arms are constantly moving, even on those long straights!!! Dude, you're awesome!!! Love the content, especially the behind the scenes stuff. The experience you're gaining right now is PRICELESS!!! THANKS for taking us along for the ride!!! GOOD LUCK AT KNOXVILLE!!!!
Your crew needs a raise. Keep up the learning process...looking forward to seeing you and your crew during PA Speedweeks 2022.
What a great, entertaining vid, with excellent narration by Tanner. I've been watching dirt and pavement oval cars as a fan in the stands for 50 years or so. I appreciate the insights he offers regarding both the challenges of driving, car prep and management. I'm sure the additional challenges of having a functional team, funding, keeping everything together all add yet another layer of complexity. I subbed and became a fan of this crew and driver after watching this first vid. Thanks!
Thank you Greg!
Not a bad run you started to figure something out. Gaining experience is key. I like how you look at things very positive attitude even when the night isnt in your favor
Good job Tanner , I really like how you explain things 🏁
One of the best vlogs about racing on the net....its your narration...very professional...
Keep it up. You're really learning what it takes to drive. It's going to pay off as the seasons come and go. You'll be one of the top shoes around. Mark my words!
You're doing great.Be patient and it won't be long before your running up front. Remember the closer you get to the front the harder it gets.Practice makes perfect.
Oh to be young and ambitious and loving what you do. Enjoy the heck out of it young man. Best of luck always.
Great video, im sorry im a year late in watching it. Congratulations gaining the spots you did from where you started. The Mo State Fair Speedway used to have a mile track that sprint cars ran on. A friend of mine won several times on the dirt mile, hes now retired, in the sprint car HOF and preaching the Word in northern Missouri. Keep up the great work!!!
That tracks as big as it is, because they used to run racehorses there! It's a former horse racing track.:D
Very much enjoyed the inside view of your race night. I used to live in Sedalia and nearby Warrensburg....been to that track many times. As a fan, of course. Great job!
Nice to hear you talk about car & track details. Can't say I've heard racing from this perspective. Good video!
Just saw you last night at Lakeside Speedway in Kansas City, KS! You were awesome, good luck in your career and hope to see you back here again! Be watching your videos and your career!
Great run ,you learned a lot ..I found my heating problem on my sprint once , it was hard to believe but the water pump was loose on the shaft low rpm it worked bur when you put a strain on it it started to slip . Found it when i pull the front cover off when changing engine,s , talk about odd stuff happening ..........
Wow love the camera angles.... nice to see you moving fast and seeing new tracks Williams Grove 🙌 👌 😎 soon right 🙏
Sprint cars are the most exciting racing to watch. Reminds me of the old days at San Jose Speedway in 1970's. Super modified "Hard Tops". Howard Keading, Nic Rescino and too many others to mention,ALL GREAT. Nice video, Thanks for sharing it. Great Racing.
Im new on board Tanner, i love speedway and sprintcars. Your my new driver to follow. Lets go racing Dude.
Thanks for the videos man
Outstanding job Tanner getting better all the time
Wow you had a lot going on this race. Ole' 18T just needed a little extra love tonight!
Good racer and an easy kid to like. Good luck Tanner and be safe!
Did I see Tanner throwing it into the corners! 🤗🤗🤗you looked good Out there.😎😎😎
Carly is such a good helper!!! "Dad, is this your water?" I love it!!!! Tanner, you are doing super great too!!!
Yeah!! I was waiting for the "not any more!" LOL!
Another good job Tanner. Keep it up.
Freaking on the floor all the way around. Nice run working thru all those issues.
You did AMAZING!
I sense you learned a lot in this one... Good for you.
Good job on 15th after the trouble, the handling with wing moving must have felt very interesting especially not know why the wing was moving.
Good job Tanner!!! 👍👍
good job tanner, keep it up!
Good job Tanner!! I race this Saturday. 🏁🏁
Good work for first go round on that track.
Thanks Tanner
Good recovery, despite wing issues. Way to fight back, kid. Stack those bricks
Great job Tanner great job
Looks like awesome track that's big!
My God!
Just wait until you see Belleville!
The highbanks will leave you speechless.
Nope, Eldora takes a back seat to Belleville.
Great run Tanner!
THIS track reminds me of Selinsgrove Speedway in PA. BIG SWEEPING TURNS you can run wide open Selinsgrove is however banked about 10 _15 degrees
Dude you picked up 8 spots with a stop! Keep diggin TH that 18t will up front soon enough🏁
I hope you get that cooling problem fixed. Great job on Hard Charger!!
Kiddo, this is why I like your and Bennetts vids....you explain what was going on. When watching on Flo, they can't update what you're situation is. Was wondering why you qualified at the back as I figured you'd drawn well going next to last. So all these little issues fill the picture in. More learning curve and experience at problem solving. Only will help down the road. Good luck at Nationals.🏆
I ran the white 29# 360 car at grays harbor speedway in the early 2000s ,red has a curse for me also, elboes up u can recover the 2022 season.
Great job
Well done, never been to a race like this. Sometime i hope to make a World of Outlaws in vegas. I'm in Utah so not a bad drive. Be safe
Good job Tanner
Really enjoying ride😎
You started moving pretty good in the feature.
Don't worry about the car flipping over the wall at 12:30
Yeah for reals
This Kid Is Good,,,, Great Voice,,, Great Timing,,,
Wow that guy completely ballparked it while you where pulling in😂
Have you ever raced Fonda that's my hometown track in about 4weeks we are getting super sprints I can't wait
Great persistence. Adapted to wing problem. .
Nice Tanner, you should come over and race in Australia soon.
Insane.
It looked like the bottom may have been the way to go from the very beginning around that track. Slower in the turns of course but shot out like a cannon on exit.
23rd to 15th at a track you've never been to is a great run especially with all the issues you were having. Proud of ya Buddy!
Dont spoil
That looks just like the Du Quoin State Fairground track the Silver Crown and ARCA race on
"I am speed" that would be the thought I'd have😂🏁
Good night racing my hometown track.
If the wing slider breaks, on my car we park it. We’re pretty tight with Ryan Smith, at Selinsgrove, same thing happened to him on entry into 1 but his broke off and he took off, he got banged up bad and he was lucky still.
have you a gauge to check the humidity and altering the mixture and jetting accordingly? The humidity makes a big difference
Yes we have been going this every night! It crazy how much the air makes a difference.
man thats quick……The G forces through those corners would be mindblowing…..
It sucks you to the side of the seat. At first Logically your brain tells you there is no way the car is gonna stick and it just does.
It's very important to get all the air out of a pressurized cooling system. I know Autozone sells a funnel just for that purpose. You can use it on your cars and trucks as well ,for under 20.00 , well worth your time and money. In a pressurized cooling system water boils at a higher temperature.
Are sprint cars allowed to run actual coolant or do they have to use water? If so Evans Coolant might be a good choice.
@@jessejames3x736 Water only.
Track is huge !
Massive!
@@TannerHolmes kept it high wide & handsome kid !!!
HELL YES ..
What a story it would have been if you got hard charger to tell the reporter in the interview 😂
Are you going to come to Michigan before the season ends ?
Hey tanner I was curious but where is your other helmet
Tanner, racing with the 410's and with the ASCOC do you believe this will help you with your 360 program? Great run tonight. Looking forward to the Knoxville video.
I think it will! It helped me a ton this past week back in the 360!
It's an old horse racing track that had cars start racing onit in the 30s if I'm correct, they used to host a weekly show of street stocks super stocks modifieds late modles and 360 sprints. We used to have guys like the bodenhammer family here and scott bloomquist would show up for all the MLRA late modle races and jack hasenchild and randy Martin Kevin whitworth and some other guys that have made a name for them selves around the Missouri tracks. It was a every Friday night show for a long time up untill the 2000's when it shut down. We have been hoping it would pick up and run biweekly atleast for a couple of years now. We've had everybody in the 410 cars here from swindell to kinser to lasaski to bryan brown and back in the day big names like doug Wolfgang ran here from time to time
It’s really neat! I love old tracks!
you really need to come East Williams Grove and Port Royal will light up your life
Dude! You are doing great!!! You had a rough night and still finished 15. Great job!!! You are learning so much. You can’t expect wins right away running with the Allstars , but you are finishing races and that is what is important. Look at the guys you are running with! Some big names. You will be up there soon enough , keep digging.
You appeared a bit loose. Seesawing on the wheel. A sign of being loose. What did you do to tighten up ?
Terre haute Indiana has a crazy big fast track..
Try west virginia motor speedway 135 in turns over 150 on staights
Question: what is your team doing to refresh that 410 without going back to the builder???
They got a Kistler 410 and a Ryder 410. No need to refresh when you play: *_"Who the funk wants to run last?"_*
You need to visit Port Royal 😉
Good job last to 15th with the class of cars you were running against making clean passes your day is coming. Keep digging.
His car is not outclassed. Not even close.
@@numbzinger350 that's not what I meant.what I was saying he's up against some of the best Sprint car drivers in the country and he's hanging with them . His day is coming for a win . This young man has talent it's only a matter of time.
@@tigxracing I apologize and you're exactly right, his day is coming.
As a Sprint car racing fan we always enjoyed watching these cars fly around the tracks. We actually enjoyed the smaller 3/8 or 1/4 oval tracks best it was quicker and the cars dont get so stretched apart and it was much easier to follow the lead cars. The 1/2 mile tracks are too much track for these csrs for our taste in racing is all.
Your for sure a rim rider whitch is scary and fast you will be good if you can figure out how to run the botttom as well great run kid
Ran sprint cars there for years. You ran the preferred line on the bottom for the track. Lots of memories there for me. We use to pit in the infield and use the exit in the middle of the main straight to push the cars off. Now that you have run the track I will tell you my driver bounced to the outside of a driver on a start and jumped the right year of another car at the flag stand and went out over the fence in turn one ending up by the train. Worst crash ever there.
I really enjoyed the track! It was neat!
My Hometown.
One of the sprint cars tumbled out of the ballpark at 12:30
Noti gang
Ask one of the old guys what it was like running the Springfield Mile.
thats like our half mile in hutchinson kansas
Fun racetrack..coming from a 1/4-3/8 mile track, hutch looks like super speedway.
How much money in a 410 Sprint motor?
only time a sprint motor will heat up is if its lean on fuel , high speed bypass is probably stuck open.
