  • Another glorious morning in the bay, but very cold with plenty of frost on the ground.
Launched from my favourite kayak fishing spot, fished a few marks around thatchers rock, plenty of whiting and mackerel, far to many to film, every time jig and bait was in the water, within seconds i had a fish on.
Got my anchor stuck, while ledgering, took at least 20mins to retrieve it, was going to give up and cut away the anchor, when decided to give it one last try, paddled with the line tight in a circle, then luckily anchor came free.
Caught a couple of decent sized pollock for this area, which was a nice surprise.
My homemade jig was doing the business, it great to be out and catching.
    Tight lines

It’s exciting watching you catch in the bay and I have massively enjoyed your videos. I went out last Thursday in my SIB out of Brixham I fished near to the mussel beds but didn’t catch, I was drifting, should I have anchored? Keep up the good work and enjoy. I would appreciate any help.

Thanks for the kind message, anchoring is good for bait fishing on the bottom, usual catch Rays, dogfish, flat fish etc, but trolling or jigging while drifting in the current is just as good, usual catch bass, Pollock, mackerel etc. Good luck and tight lines.
