Yes, I can see that place as a once a year Restaurant to dine out and have a Steak Dinner. I am not a liquor or wine drinker so I wouldn't need to worry about the wine list. Where these Restaurants make their money is when large families dine out there. And as you mentioned the Restaurant was packed when you left. Looks like this Restaurant is in part of a large city (Orlando), and that could raise the prices of the food for being in an exclusive area. I see the rides in the background so you must be close to Disney World, not sure. Glad you are enjoying Florida and not costing you too much to tour around the Orlando area. It is winter time so that means tourists are down in Florida. Take care Lee.
Absolutely amazing video mate. With regards to the bill, I’d need to take out a 2nd mortgage to afford that but blimey, that was the best looking steak I’ve seen. Mouthwatering. Great selections of wine too. I love red wine but I struggle to tell the difference. But my late father-in-law was a proper wine connoisseur. He would have loved this place. His favourite wines were from Argentina and South Africa. He taught me a lot about red wine. Back to the steak. Wow. So glad you treated yourself to a lovely meal and as you say, it’s not just about the food, it’s the service and ambience too. That all looked perfect mate. 10/10. Don't eat steak, but you could see how juicy and tasty that was. Very expensive, but Lee, nothing wrong with treating yourself , you deserve it , you work real hard to keep us entertained . And also to celebrate 100k 👍🏼😊 x
Charley's has been around for years and is definitely one of the best. The wood fire is what does it for me. I'm not sure how it might compare to Bern's in Tampa...that one is still on my list of places to go.

Another great video! Like you (maybe more so) I am not into expensive places, but your genuine manner means you have convinced me to try it (alas I'm unlikely to be in the US). If ever in Rome, try Kilo in via Tirso (our favourite steakhouse in the whole world) for a fillet steak & cheesey chips! They seem cheap in comparison now.
Good job Lee! You hit the Nail on the head there with your points about experience, treat yourself and do some more. Morton's is another good Steak House if you get the chance to experience it.
I ate here about 15 years ago, me and my wife paid that much with starters and the exchange rate was about 2 dollars to the pound, shocked at how different it costs now. Chris Ruth's steakhouse near by beats Charley's handsdown at time but was more expensive, glad you enjoyed it 🙂

That place looks absolutely amazing. It really doesn't get much better than a top-end steakhouse in the US and Charley's is near the top of the tree I knew that place would be a 10 plus, but great you had Diego 'the steak whisperer' to look after you and make you feel more comfortable. One of my favourite videos so far.
Great video Lee and especially good for what you've done during this trip. I should have been there now with my family but work commitments... I would have lived to meet up briefly, as I know you're a busy man. You really should do a video like this maybe once per month. Test yourself and also show viewers that us 'pub grub' fans can also experience a nice restaurant once in a while without feeling we don't belong in a nice restaurant. I'm sure some of us can feel like that, I know folk that do.

Great music Lee! It sounds crazily expensive, but I recall you spending around $40 for an utterly bland breakfast in Nashville [or some where like that]. Given the reality of current prices, that was a nice steak with excellent service in a decent environment. Lovely review; keep it up!

that looked delicious nom ... sometimes when i cook my steaks i season then sprinkle them with bisto beef gravy granules this gives them a lovely beefy sear and crust you should try it 🥩🥩🥩
I think you had a t bone steak a porterhouse has flank on it named after meat porters in Smithfield market in London who could take a cross cut off the sirloin as a perk of the job,filet mignon is the tail end of the fillet as used in stroganoff middle cut is a tournedos and the head of the fillet is a chateaubriand

Every once in a while its nice to have a treat, This was it, you cant beat a good steakhouse, I would have had a Medium 8oz Fillet, Chips and some Beer Battered Mushrooms or Onion rings with mine, Yours did look perfectly done to me, I can see why you loved it so much, the experience is what its all about, Charley's looked Spot On, No need to apologize Lee, you've earned it, 100K with many more to come.

If I was getting a tip of $35 I,d stand and tell you all about the steak, they don't have to serve many tables at that rate to make a decent living. Whenever I,ve been to the US I've had the impression that there over the top to get the highest tip possible, on one occasion they even crossed out the two lower tips needless to say they didn't get any. My money was a lot harder to earn than putting a plate on a table.
That Steak was on another level. Even looking at it on a video you could see the quality, and you pay for quality. The Wine looked like it went down well also!🙂 I loved the mention of Blue Nun, that brought back some memories. When you mentioned it i almost choked on my Lambrini!😃
Lee you should have gone to the Yard House by the eye, it’s much more relaxed pub environment and you could have had a nice pint… the steaks were amazing 😊
Looks like a large T bone to me I must admit. One side fillet one side sirloin. Fillet more tender sirloin better flavour. Surprised you didn’t order a sauce looks like it would help it down. A nice Bernaise I think and a bottle of Nuits St Georges would be my choice. Thanks for doing this - looks like my kind of place!! Oh yes and sticky toffee pudding. Sounds perfect!
Pointers. 1. Drink wine at the same time as eating steak, 100% flavour add. 2. Regardless of restaurant, all paying patrons are the same, pick up the bloody bone, the meat next to the bone is the best! 3. When in a steak restaurant throw salad in the bin! 4. Always order a sauce, even peppercorn!
The steak is a t-bone .. 1 half sirloin the other rump... Looks a very good steak.. the prices of the bottles of Campo vejo are ridiculous.. the t bone I get from my local butcher is around £20... $95 is a hell of a lot of cash... Imagine if you were a family of 4

You should always get the wine to match the steak, choose your steak first then ask which wine complements it. In a place like Charleys I'm pretty certain they know know their stuff judging by this video. Keep up the great work Lee, love it 👌
Lobster Mac and Cheese! The place looks nice but not over the top fancy. I like your steak choice and I’d get the mac and cheese and a baked potato and probably take most of it home or to the hotel with me. Great video!😊
Nice steak Lee I must say I have always struggled to swallow steak growing up due to my birth but pleased to hear that you have enjoyed it 🙂 I'm not posh Lee either I prefer my home comfort food fish n chips curry Chinese and I enjoy a roast with Yorkshire puddings and next time I think I will pick up a box of $11 Yorkshire tea next time I'm in the supermarket have a lovely day tomorrow 😊
Glad you made it. The place hasn't changed a bit in the last 20 odd years, 1'st class food & service time after time. Oddly the salad I had there was the best I have ever had & the red wine reduction sauce..... ooooh.

Hey Lee! I know I would be the same and be out my depth in a place like that. Have no experience with steak or wine either. That wine menu was vast on its own. Yes it’s very expensive for what you got. But as it’s a one off why not treat yourself. Mmm I’d definitely want to add some sort of sauce to it, But that would be my preference! I don’t like my meat pink or bloody but that didn’t look too bad considering. The fillet side was less pink than the other. Had to chuckle at your tipsy side in getting your words out. Mmm I’d like an ice cream twix too. Sounds good! Take care 😘👍🏻
I can really see you enjoyed that, with the experience you described it's a 10 for me. But to be honest I wouldn't spend 95 sheets on a piece of meat, not in 95 years, no matter how good it is. But I liked that you had a good time.
it's a tbone steak. 1 side porterhouse the other fiillet of beef almost everytime the fillet is pretty small, sometimes you can find a good tbone with a big section of eye fillet
It's a Porterhouse, which is fillet and New York strip, as is a T-Bone. But to be a Porterhouse the fillet side has to be at least 1.25 inches wide at the base of the bone. It's the way the Americans do it, their New York strip steak is what us English folk call sirloin, the Americans call our rump steak top sirloin.

That was fab Lee, i feel so fortunate to have been to that area of I-Drive dozens of times in the 90s and then up to 2013 until i bought my holiday apartment in the Costa Blanca, that’s when everywhere in Florida was good value, prices are crazy now at $1.20 to the £1, Try Chillies beside that abandoned fairground from the other day, that’s where we used to frequent and enjoyed, was good value then as well. Still cheap as chips in Spain as you know and fish and chips superb 😀
We’ve not been to Charley’s but will definitely be trying it we’ve always gone to the Columbia in celebration for a special meal it’s beautiful you need to give that a go thank you for doing this for us 😊
Wow that steak looked amazing. My mouth was watering. Yes pricey but you really enjoyed it and that makes it worthwhile. Plus that’s your celebration meal for having 100,000 subscribers. The place itself looked lovely and by what your saying they knew what they were talking about.
We have eaten there a few times and the steaks and service is fabulous 👍👍. Yes, expensive but worth it in our view - as a special treat of course 😬😬. If there is a downside is, like many high end restaurants on I Drive, it is very popular with Convention guests and if are there at a peak time (usually Thursday) service can be compromised. Thanks for sharing 👏👏
Ten years since we were in Orlando. We went to Charlies, walked in and ..... walked out, then went to Ponderosa and got chicken and steak tips....... lovely, and nowhere near the price of Charlies, we all ate for about a tenth of price of a started at Charlies, lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Review Ponderosa (if it's still there). You should always get the wine to match the steak, choose your steak first then ask which wine complements it. In a place like Charleys I'm pretty certain they know know their stuff judging by this video. Keep up the great work Lee, love it 👌

Nice steak Lee I must say I have always struggled to swallow steak growing up due to my birth but pleased to hear that you have enjoyed it 🙂 I'm not posh Lee either I prefer my home comfort food fish n chips curry Chinese and I enjoy a roast with Yorkshire puddings and next time I think I will pick up a box of $11 Yorkshire tea next time I'm in the supermarket have a lovely day tomorrow 😊
Glad you made it. The place hasn't changed a bit in the last 20 odd years, 1'st class food & service time after time. Oddly the salad I had there was the best I have ever had & the red wine reduction sauce..... ooooh.

As for the steak I would mark 9.7/10 only because of the lack of chips offered and perhaps the cost of wine could of been for a whole bottle, not 2 glasses😳 At the end of the day you get what you pay for. Hey Lee! I know I would be the same and be out my depth in a place like that. Have no experience with steak or wine either. That wine menu was vast on its own. Yes it’s very expensive for what you got. But as it’s a one off why not treat yourself. Mmm I’d definitely want to add some sort of sauce to it, But that would be my preference! I don’t like my meat pink or bloody but that didn’t look too bad considering. The fillet side was less pink than the other. Had to chuckle at your tipsy side in getting your words out. Mmm I’d like an ice cream twix too. Sounds good! Take care 😘👍🏻

I can really see you enjoyed that, with the experience you described it's a 10 for me. But to be honest I wouldn't spend 95 sheets on a piece of meat, not in 95 years, no matter how good it is. But I liked that you had a good time.
it's a tbone steak. 1 side porterhouse the other fiillet of beef almost everytime the fillet is pretty small, sometimes you can find a good tbone with a big section of eye fillet
It's a Porterhouse, which is fillet and New York strip, as is a T-Bone. But to be a Porterhouse the fillet side has to be at least 1.25 inches wide at the base of the bone. It's the way the Americans do it, their New York strip steak is what us English folk call sirloin, the Americans call our rump steak top sirloin.

That was fab Lee, i feel so fortunate to have been to that area of I-Drive dozens of times in the 90s and then up to 2013 until i bought my holiday apartment in the Costa Blanca, that’s when everywhere in Florida was good value, prices are crazy now at $1.20 to the £1, Try Chillies beside that abandoned fairground from the other day, that’s where we used to frequent and enjoyed, was good value then as well. Still cheap as chips in Spain as you know and fish and chips superb 😀
We’ve not been to Charley’s but will definitely be trying it we’ve always gone to the Columbia in celebration for a special meal it’s beautiful you need to give that a go thank you for doing this for us 😊
Wow that steak looked amazing. My mouth was watering. Yes pricey but you really enjoyed it and that makes it worthwhile. Plus that’s your celebration meal for having 100,000 subscribers.
The place itself looked lovely and by what your saying they knew what they were talking about.
We have eaten there a few times and the steaks and service is fabulous 👍👍. Yes, expensive but worth it in our view - as a special treat of course 😬😬. If there is a downside is, like many high end restaurants on I Drive, it is very popular with Convention guests and if are there at a peak time (usually Thursday) service can be compromised. Thanks for sharing 👏👏

Ten years since we were in Orlando. We went to Charlies, walked in and ..... walked out, then went to Ponderosa and got chicken and steak tips....... lovely, and nowhere near the price of Charlies, we all ate for about a tenth of price of a started at Charlies, lol. 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Review Ponderosa (if it's still there).
