Hello, Central Floridian here. Let me tell how.
    1. We don't go to the theme parks. It's nothing but concrete and cement everywhere.
    2. We go from our air conditioned house, to our air conditioned car, to our place of work or stores that are all air conditioned.

    • @conduit64

Yep, you will not catch a single Floridian in a theme park in July-September, or really anywhere outdoors except early morning and late evening.

As Floridians we're just used to it. We know its muserably hot and adapt out lives to get through it.
On the other hand we don't understand how people can live in Alaska. They have places where the sun doesn't rise for months and temps so cold if you pour water out of a cup it freezes before it hits the ground. And they say we're crazy!

I've been castigated for giving away the whole "gill" secret in another post so all I'll say here is ...
Have a cooler with ice in your trunk when out and about.
Keep a couple bandanas in the ice water and use as needed to apply to the back of neck and face.
Having a cold rag on your neck is one of the fastest ways to cool off.
    Always wear light colors.
Soak a long-sleeved shirt in water.
    Soak your hat in water.
What do you mean, "I don't wear hats"
Oh, son... you are in for an uncomfortable summer.

Went to Navy bootcamp (in winter).
Arrive home at MSY (in the terminal closest to the taxi stand).
    &
Walk out of the A/C into an unbreathable wall of aerosolized 110ºF "Air"(water)!

Been here since I was 10 in 1980. You get used to it but thank God for AC in cars and homes. In the 80s they had no AC on the buses and my school didn't have the AC either it sucked

Central Floridian here: this isnt even summer 😂😂😂😂 this is still spring. We where light colors in the daytime and dont go to theme parks when its 100 plus degrees. Plus when electricity goes out during hurricane season we are used to it

worst part of roofing in Florida is that summer is our busy season.... July-September pays well but man that roof sucks.

Indoors with the AC cranked up, that's how. Some of us also have pools.

I love it when you work in ac all day then the double doors open and you're hit with a thick wall of humidity

Born and raised in FL, with no AC til recently...stay in the shade, buy every fan you can afford and sit directly in front of them, wet your hair frequently so your brain doesn't fry, go swimming (even in a cow trough if there's nothing else), and save your $$ to buy an AC, asap. Pray for nightfall...still hot, but nothing like the sun cooked daylight hours. Real talk.

    Florida seasons:
Pre-Summer, Summer, Post-Summer, and both days of Winter.
(I hope Winter doesn’t fall on a weekend again this year.)

In the Winter you can always put more clothes on to fight the cold.
In the Summer, you can only go the other direction so far... before they arrest you.
