- Too many guys seem to go blank on the double end bag when it is a very, very useful tool, so here are some boxing combinations and drills that you can work into your double end bag routine to improve accuracy, quickness and also so that it actually has a point. Remember: just hitting it with no plan is just not a plan. Anyway, these are not super complex (and try to keep your hands up--don't get sloppy like me), but they may be challenging at first with regard to getting hooks around and handspeed, so do not be afraid to use lighter gloves or to just start slow. Also, I've done most examples also in a southpaw stance. This DOES NOT mean that you need to do this. I can switch stances easily, but also some of this is easier to see in southpaw due to the camera angle and my limited possibilities in the white trash gazebo.
Re double end bag workouts--I often start with bag gloves (don't just use wraps, as you might hit the bolts) for the first round (3 minutes, one minute rest), and those are just loose rounds to warm up.
In the second round I use 20 oz gloves--also mostly to warm up. I do some loose hooks and 2-3s like you see, but a bit of 1s, 1-1s, 1-1-2s, 1-1-1-2s and 1-2-3s. I'm old enough that I just need to warm up a lot... But throw in slips and bobs too.
The next three rounds are more serious, and I use 16 oz gloves. I try to move around the bag a lot, alter combos, change tempos, go medium and then fire hard, fast shots, etc.
I cut all of that out, as it would have gone on for, well, 20 minutes, and it would have been hard to see the combos and drills I worked into this vid. Try not to let your hands drop (like me--still working back into shape) and do a couple of combos and then move to a different position, using slips, bobs, fakes, etc. Sometimes I stopped to repeat the same moves for this vid to make sure they were on film, but you don't need to do that unless you are polishing off a combo.
Anyway, enjoy and half fun with it.
Conner liked it!! your cheat sheets pls keep them Up slightly longer... This is best double-ended bad video I've seen so far on RUclips. I need to re-tension my bag, make base so that it doesn't move, and then allow a little more room as in not in between two nice parked cars in the garage
Your dog, what can I say ---wolF

I’m impressed, Preston!
