I’m so impressed with this interview. Russ Roberts was a respected economist (who I rarely agreed with) but is a master of the “cogent question). Daniel Gordis exudes a wisdom more should share. I was honestly skeptical about how helpful this series by Roberts would be but I give it 5 fives!!

I would for you interview him on why he was against the judicial reform. The current system seems so alien to the American system that we enjoy.

I noticed you were looking for a person who could give a strong defense of the Palestinian side of this discussion. I listened to a podcast recently called Conversations With Coleman. He interviewed a Muslim named Yousef Munayyer who was very adamant in his defense of Palestine. While I disagreed with Yousef Munayyer he did good job of making me think.

The coverage of the conflict might be different if Israel allowed outside journalists into Gaza but the didn't. How many journalists have been killed now? Early on in the conflict i remember watching a Channel 4 (a British broadcaster) report from Gaza where they were embedded with some IDF troops but had to get the okay from them to broadcast their footage. That kind of censorship is hardly going to endear a third country to Israels actions is it?
I should say, I appreciate these interviews and Mr Roberts interview style. More interviews with folks that have different opinions would be good though.

Why should Israel endanger its security and operations on the ground for activists pretending to be journalists?

Russ outlines the progressive, conservative, and libertarian frameworks for looking at the conflict but I have yet to hear the JEWISH framework. When Joshua ben Nun entered the land he gave the canaanites 3 options: peace, leave, or war. Many in Israel are advocating this approach to Gaza. They see Gaza as an important part of the land of Israel and a place where Israeli sovereignty and communities must be restored. They welcome Arabs to live in peace in Gaza or to leave and have war if the peace is not desired. These are the Israelis that are fighting for all corners of the land of israel and like the majority of Palestinians also reject the 2 state solution. I would love to hear these voices. (Every guest so far has been a self described liberal). And if Russ has a Palestinian on I hope he has a real Palestinian that actually reflects what most Palestinians think and not a token westernized that makes a living by hitting the regular circuits.

@@wavyremix would be good to know why? He’s a professor, authorr and a child of holocaust survivors. Sure, his viewpoint isn’t in line with what we have heard on this podcast’s last 2-3 episodes. But why not hear the other side’s view? Refute the arguments, not the personality.

@@alimir2354 He is absolutely insane and a complete revisionist liar. He's propped up because of his immutable characteristics and background to attack Israel. It's cynical and gross. I've heard him speak multiple times at colleges where I attended Holocaust and Israel history studies. It's always the most hateful Palestinian groups on campus who have him. It's his shtick now for forty years.
